The Last Embrace Chapter 366

Later that night, fifteen minutes before midnight.
Jessy visited Jagger in the treehouse.
Jagger was full smile when he saw Jessy. "Hey beautiful..." he greeted her enthusiastically.
"What's up?" she asked, a faint smile was lurking in her lips. "Why aren't you sleep yet?"
"I can't sleep, I'm waiting for your visit," he grinned. "Not much happening here while you were away. I'm dragging the time in a hurry so that you will visit me again. This place looks lonely without you by my side," he uttered the words with deep longing and meaning in his eyes.
"Really—?" Jessy raised her brows. She looked at his face keenly. "I was here the other night in my invisible form...but you were able to see me? Can you explain that—?"
Jagger fell silent.
"Did you retain your power?" she asked again, she doesn't like his silence at all.
Jagger shook his head. "No. It's just my sixth sense. I can detect invisible people when they are near me, I can feel their breathing, but I can never see them...maybe I was able to detect your exact location the other night because I'd been thinking of you every minute of the day...so...somehow your scent was already embedded in every fiber of my being, and you seemed to forget that part of your blood already runs in my veins. We have this deep connection to each other somehow," he elaborated further.
"So your power didn't resurface—?" she pressed on, she wants an honest confession from him, he wasn't denying it either that makes her even more suspicious.
Jagger shook his head. "Nah. All my power was gone," he said.
"Okay, I believe you," Jessy said. "Do you want to go out with me?" she asked.
Jagger's brows furrowed. "Huh? A-are you asking me for a date?" he can't believe his good luck.
Jessy snorted with laughter. "Silly you, it's not a date. I just want to tour you around since I know that ever since you lose your power you were not able to roam outside due to your inability to protect yourself during a dangerous situation," she explained.

"W-where are we going?" he asked feeling excited to go around with her.
Jessy pointed her index finger above the ceiling. "Up in the sky!"
Jagger's face broke into a wide smile. "I love that! It's been a while...I miss hovering there in the sky just admiring the scenery up there especially during night time," he said, with enthusiasm leaping from his eyes.
"Okay, I will take you up there," she went to his side and grabbed his arm. "Ready—?"
"I'm ready as a bee! Take me anywhere as long you are there I will be happy and a contented man," Jagger smirked.
Jessy smiled. "I will make us invisible first, to avoid people seeing us from below, they might think we are giant birds or aliens," she immediately wielded her power over them making them both invisible to the naked eye.
Done.
"Let's go!" she said.
They flew out of the window...as they rose higher in the air...the entire land teeming with the forest was unfolding below them like a giant map.
"Ah, I miss all this! I miss my powers! I miss the freedom to roam around with abandon," Jagger said with a hint of sadness and excitement in his voice.
Jessy pointed at the ocean a hundred miles from their location. "How about the sea? You want to go there and admire the vast ocean once more?"
"Yes please!" Jagger exclaimed like an excited child going for an adventure in the candy land.
"Okay, as you wish...here we go!" Jessy zoomed into the location of the sea.
A few minutes later, they arrived in the ocean.
"The sea is always beautiful and calm during this time of the night," Jagger commented while gazing at the vast ocean underneath their feet.
"Yeah, beautiful and majestic as always," Jessy murmured, she was mesmerized by the calmness of the sea.
They stayed floating in the sky for a few minutes, unseen by anyone.
The weather is good, it's a bit windy but the sky is clear and the stars come out in full force adorning the heaven with its dazzling lights.

After a while, Jessy spoke. "Where do you want to go next? Tell me."
Jagger looked at her pretty face. "Can you please take me to the city? I miss the beautiful chaos of the city skyline," he requested earnestly.
"Sure!" Jessy responded with a pleasant smile plastered on her face.
They zoomed towards the direction of the city.
As the beauty of the city brimming with dazzling lights bombarded their senses, Jagger was left in awe! He used to visit the city but not to admire the panoramic view but to hunt for victims, but now that he no longer have to hunt for human blood he can finally admire the magnificent beauty of the city skyline. And the most wonderful part is that he was enjoying the wonderful view with the woman he adored so much. It's a bonus! He feels like he is the king of the world with Jessy by his side. He feels so happy, he thinks his heart is going to explode due to so much joy.
Jagger saw the tallest skyscraper in the city, he pointed at it. "Can we go there—please?"
"Okay," Jessy obliged and they zoomed into the tallest building of the entire city.
Their feet landed on the rooftop.
They stood side by side gazing at the multitudes of lights adorning the entire city.
"Spectacular isn't it?" Jagger said to his companion standing beside him.
Jessy looked at him, agreeing with his choice of word to describe the beauty of the skyline during the evening. "Yes, the view up here is stunning and breathtaking, indeed!" she gushes.
Their eye feasted on the impressive towering buildings that were like mushrooms sprouting in the city, left and right there were always buildings outshining each other.
Jessy and Jagger spent another hour completely mesmerized by the panoramic view of the city skyline.
A few minutes later.
"Let's go home now," Jessy finally said.
"Okay, let's leave this place and perhaps come back here again some other time?" he asked her.
Jessy did not reply, she just looked at his face.
They stared into each other eyes.
"What's wrong—Jess?" he asked feeling perturbed by her silence.
"Don't expect much from me, this might not happen again," she said not wanting him to fantasize something special out of her kindness. "Let's go back now to the treehouse..." she said and zoomed towards the direction of the forest where the treehouse was located.
A few minutes later, they were already back in the forest but Jessy did not get them into the treehouse, instead, she brought Jagger up higher and higher.
"Aren't we are done yet?" he asked in puzzlement as they rose higher.
"Not yet..." Jessy smirked, a mischievous light glimmered in his eyes.
When they are already in the highest altitude, in the thermosphere a few meters away from breaking into the earth's exosphere the gateway to outer space.
Jessy did the unthinkable...
She let go of Jagger's arm.
"Nooooooooooooo!" Jagger screams in panic after realizing what she has been planning to do to him.
Jessy watched as Jagger's body plummeting fast heading into the ground and saw the pain of betrayal in his eyes. What the fuck?
She thought Jagger retained his power! This is not good! She just wants to test him.
Damn!
What if he does lose all his power and he will die the moment his body falls into the ground!
Jessy zoomed into the ground wanting to arrive there first before he does.
As she zoomed like lightning into the ground, she dreaded the moment she will see his lifeless body slumped in the ground, head first!
