The Last Embrace Chapter 316

Six hours later.
Jackson arrived in the manor. He was greeted with a palpable silence. when he went to his room looking for Violet, his room was empty. He saw Leo on the terrace on the second floor staring at the full moon outside. "Did you see Violet?" he asked.
Leo was aware that Jackson was already home. "I saw her entering the basement thirty minutes ago..." he answered without looking at Jackson.
Jackson's brows furrowed, confused. "What she's doing in the basement?" he quickly spans on his heels and went down on the staircase, then he sauntered towards the direction of the basement situated near the kitchen area.
Unaware that Leo was following him quietly.
Jackson entered the basement and went down the stairs in a hurry...without a word Leo delivered a swift kick onto Jackson's back resulting in him falling into the solid floor, face down. Jackson groaned in agony and was about to stand up but Leo delivered another hard blow on his head using a metal bar creating a gaping wound on Jackson's head, the blood from the wound splattered on Leo's face.
Jackson's body crumbled into the floor.
Leo dragged Jackson's unconscious body to the post in the basement and tied the rope around his body tightly making sure he won't be able to free himself from the rope. Then he silences his mouth with duct tape forever.
Done with Jackson...
Leo went to the bed and saw that the blanket was already moving, which means Violet was already awakened.
He yanked the blanket and looked at his ex-girlfriend's unrecognizable face, he wiped the blood from her face so that she can have a better view of Jackson who was unconsciously being tied to a post.
Violet's eyes widened upon realizing that she was tied to the bed as well...then her tears start to stream down her face when she caught sight of her lover tied to the post already looking dead. She looked into Leo's eyes begging for her life.

But Leo has no more remorse and pity left on his body...
He can no longer feel any kind of emotion for the two people who hurt him badly.
"All has to end! You and Jackson will have to stare at each other for the rest of your life inside this basement, enjoy your remaining days on earth!" he declared with a devilish gleam in his eyes.
That was Leo's final statement before he left the basement.
Violet stared at Leo's retreating form...tears never stop pouring from her eyes slowly draining the blood from her face. She will try to escape...trying to free herself from the rope that was tied securely around her body...she won't give up!
For the next few hours, she tried her best to free herself from the confinement of the rope and the bed but her body was already weakening and her strength was already depleting...she looked at Jackson helplessly who was not awaken yet.
Then she heard noises outside the door of the basement...as if somebody was pounding on the door. Oh no! Then she realized to her horror what Leo has been trying to do...
Nooooooo! Leo was locking them inside!
With no water and food inside—she and Jackson will surely die inside the basement along with her unborn baby, the horrific thoughts scared her to death and after a minute or two, she loses consciousness again.
Outside the basement...
Leo was busy hammering nails on the door, making sure it can no longer be opened from the inside. He hammered more sticks and woods on the door making sure it's hard to open from the inside.
One hour later.
After inspecting his workmanship and felt satisfied by the result, using all his strength he slowly drags the six feet tall cabinet into the basement door concealing the sight of the basement from anybody's vision.

Done with his task, he returned to his room and lies down in the bed and closed his eyes ready to rest for the night. A satisfied smile was plastered on his lips.
Tonight he feels liberated.
Tonight he feels good.
Tonight he successfully eliminated the people who made his life a living hell. For all the years that he suffered countless physical abused and raped in the hands of Jackson, for all the prayers he uttered to the heavens above...yet no one delivered him from freedom...God even played deaf ears to his cries for help. No one helps him, no one hears his silent weeping in the dark.
Only by putting justice in his hands he was able to deliver himself from his nightmare, pain, and miseries.
"I'm free at last!" he murmured over and over again until he finally falls asleep.
The next day he acted as if nothing happens.
Then he told everyone who asked including the neighbors that Jackson and Violet went to another city to visit a relative and they will come back the next year, every time somebody would ask which city... he would just answer them that he didn't know because Jackson and Violet never told him where they have gone to.
Days...weeks...months and years passed...people stopped asking.
Leo didn't open the basement even once, he buried Jackson and Violet in his mind along with the dark memories of that night he imprisoned them in the basement.
For him, they never existed in his world.
For him, they were just a figment of his imagination.
Even the basement ceased to exist in his mind.
Then one summer night...
Leo was about to enter the house after having an errand outside the manor... when a man who wears a black cloak with a hood covering his entire head approach him from behind... and that was the moment he was abducted by the savage vampire.
That was the end of it...
...
Jessy looked at the queen, they were staring at each other, both silent for a few minutes.
"What is your plan for him, Jess?" Queen Margaret finally spoke.
Jessy was unable to utter a reply right away, she was still massaging her temple lost in deep thoughts.
"I already erase his memory regarding the abduction incident. Now I will leave the decision to you, but I suggest that you shall bring him to the police authorities as soon as possible to pay for his crimes. That is the law of humans, a murderer shall be tried in court first then put behind bars to be punished for his crimes. I'm going to my bedchamber for a long rest," the queen rose to her feet and exited the room quietly.
Jessy was left alone in the study room contemplating what to do with the frozen Leo...

Witchbone: The Goblins Winter
Themes found in these stories include friendship, found family, defying negative expectations, trying to figure out how to be a force for good in your corner of the world, doing heroic things even if you don't look or feel like a hero, and that being different isn't necessarily fatal. Summary: A spell of arctic weather. A mysterious death. The reading of a will. Strange tracks in the snow. Eleven-year-old Danny Hallow accepts his life, such as it is. His father is dead, his mother left years ago. His three Keepers are the only people aware of Danny's erratic and not-very-impressive psychic abilities. He has no friends, he's been suspended from school, and he's responsible for the life of a small brown bat that's ended up in his care. When Danny's estranged Uncle Enoch dies under mysterious circumstances, he and his Keepers are called to the town of Eddystone, New Hampshire for the reading of the man's will. Traveling four hundred miles from his dreaded hometown to attend, Danny is happy to get away, possibly inherit something interesting- and maybe find out more about his family while he's there. Arriving at the crumbling family estate of Gnomewood Home, he finds it to be hauntingly familiar, a bit creepy, oddly comforting, and possibly alive. When his uncle's will reveals that he's inherited Gnomewood and everything in it, he's determined to stay and make a happier life for himself in Eddystone, somehow. But at Gnomewood, he finds more questions than answers to his family's secrets. Disturbing old memories come to him in dreams. His psychic abilities begin to grow stronger, and as a result he becomes aware that a horde of cryptic creatures are plaguing the town of Eddystone, seemingly drawn out by the spell of an unusually frigid February. Toothy little goblins that are sneaky, vicious, and hungry. Goblins that take a particular interest in Danny. Will the emergence of the alien, and potentially dangerous, power he's inherited from his peculiar family tree help Danny survive the goblin infested winter, inadvisable attempts to befriend a terrifying boy with silver eyes, and a new school? Only if he learns to control them before they put him and everyone around him in danger. Before they convince some people that he should never have been allowed to exist at all. Before he becomes just another twisted tale in his family's bizarre history, kept hidden for centuries within the ivy-covered walls of Gnomewood Home.
