The Last Embrace Chapter 287

The queen's study room.
The royal couple was happy to have their son visited them, finally.
Queen Margaret and King Antone and Princess Abigail take each turn to hug and welcome back Adam.
"How are you, son?" King Antone asked.
"I'm fine, Father," he answered.
"How's the modeling work?" the queen inquired.
"Going great, as usual, Mother," he responded cheerfully.
Princess Abigail whispered something into her brother's ears. "When are we going to visit the beach again? I miss it already," she said. The first time she went to see the beach she fell in love with the majestic surrounding encompassing the beach, the shoreline is breathtaking, the sand is white as snow.
Adam smiled at his sister. "Just tell, Jessy, she's the boss..."
Princess Abigail's eyes sparkled. "Okay, I will go to her room now and set an appointment with her!"
The princess bounced on her toes and exited the study room like a breeze of sunshine.
The king and the queen looked at each other.
"What was that about—?" frowning, the king asked.
Adam smiled. "My baby sister complained that she is bored to death here inside the Facility. So, at one time, she asked Jessy to bring her out. Jessy brought my sister to my place and we visit the beach together," he said. "Ah, by the way, don't worry Father and Mother, my sister is safe in the company of two of the most powerful being alive on earth," he added to the point of bragging.
"Okay," the queen murmured.
The king coughed a little. "Talking about safe, son, hopefully, if one day the Facility will under attack by enemies, hope you will also be able to take care of your other sibling, not only your sister..."
Adam knew very well who the person his father was talking to, his brother Zain. "Don't worry, Father, I will save everyone in our family that includes you, Mother and Zain. I will not leave anyone behind," he said.

"You and your brother are not in a good relationship right now, he might still be angry with you but please don't give up on him. I'm still hoping he can learn to forgive you and let go of Jessy," the queen said sadly.
Adam released a deep sigh. "I and my brother Zain had already talked about our situation. I had apologized to him but he doesn't want to released Jessy. He gave me two options, transfer my power to him and live in that prison room for a few years so that he can finally forgive me and things will go back to normal between us."
Queen Margaret and King Antone looked at each other, they both know that Zain continues to hold on to his stubbornness and grudge so that he can punish them and Adam through psychological and emotional torture as his form of revenge, the couple sighed heavily.
"What is it, Mom and Dad?" Adam asked worriedly, he can see the pain on his parent's faces.
"Nothing, son. Just don't mind your brother, he will concede sooner or later. He is trying to make us bend to his will, hope you won't fall for it," King Antone said.
Adam nods his head. "I understand, Father..."
Queen Margaret put a map on the table in front of them. "Son, before you come here, your father and I were discussing on digging a tunnel as our escape route just in case the Facility will be under attack. This tunnel here, will run for fifty kilometers long and the exit will end in a mountainside away from here..." she pointed at the tallest mountain on the left side.
Adam inspected the tunnel route for a few minutes. Finding no fault at it, he spoke, "It's good enough, Mother," he commented.
"Hector and I were planning to start digging the tunnel tomorrow, we want to finish the project as soon as possible. Although the Facility and the Habitat is a perfect place to hide for us and our clan, we can't guarantee safety to all, especially if the enemies will start attacking us. It's better to be safe than sorry," King Antone said.

"I agree, Father. We can't wait for the shits to hit the fan, we must think in advance for our survival," Adam fully supported the idea of the escape route.
They discussed further on how to make a camp in the mountainside and put some of the precious gold in there for safekeeping, then stationed some men to guard the area against intruders so that they have something to use in the future when everything will be destroyed by the enemies.
Two hours later, their conversation ended. The royal couple was now ready to retire for the night. Adam hugged his mother and father goodbye and left the study room.
He teleported inside Jessy's room. He found her sister still talking animatedly to Jessy.
"Aren't you going to sleep, sister dear?" he said.
"I'm not sleepy yet," Abigail pouted.
Jessy was already yawning and was covering her mouth.
"Look at Jessy, she needs to sleep because she will have to continue blood transfusion tomorrow morning," he said, smirking.
"Okay fine, I will go now," Abigail said. She rose from the bed and smiled at Jessy. "Goodnight, Jess! Don't forget our date! See yeah tomorrow!" she waved and exited the door.
"Bye Abi!" Jessy replied.
Then the door was already closed, Adam lay down beside Jessy in the bed. "Are you sleepy now?" he asked.
"Yeah," she nodded trying to prevent her eyelids from dropping.
"By the way, why my sister is talking about a date—with you?" he asked quizzically.
Jessy smiled. "Yeah, who else? We plan to visit the city to do some shopping, I told her the four of us together with Caden will do window shopping and she agreed excitedly, she's looking forward to it," she explained.
"Ah, okay, I thought my sister is going on a date with someone. That was a false alarm!" he grinned. "Let's sleep now," he said.
"Okay, goodnight...sweet dreams," she murmured and closed her eyes.
Adam planted a kiss on her cheeks. "Sleep well my love..." he whispered.
While lying in the bed, he was unable to sleep right away. He was debating whether he will visit his brother Zain in his prison-like room or some other time.
Jessy was already falling asleep soundly.
Thirty minutes later.
Adam stood up and left the room to visit his brother.
A few moments later he was already transported into the prison-like room. When he arrived inside the room, his brother was already sound asleep. It would be rude to wake him up. He originally just wanted to drop by and say hello to him, engage in small brotherly talk with him now and then so that they can slowly patch things up between them. He has no plans to stay for longer times though, their conversation might only become heated and will only end up in a verbal fight and he's not in the mood for a fight with anyone, especially with his very own brother.
It's now time to go back to Jessy's room and sleep luxuriously beside her. He teleported into her room, he lovingly wrapped his arms around Jessy and smelled her sweet fragrance and retired for the night with a happy smile on his face.
