The Last Embrace Chapter 266

While lying in the bed inside the clinic, Jessy was holding the index card of Lilian the next woman to go home for this week. The address was written on the card. It's in the southern part of the city, her home address was in Pine Wood Subdivision, B-20, L-10.
She will have two hours break in a little while, time to hit the city again to check the address. Part of her responsibility since she rescued the mortals from their captivity was the need to make sure that when they return to their family, the place they go home to is safe and habitable, it's no use bringing them back to a home that is empty and toxic, it would defeat the purpose of saving them in the first place.
After two hours.
Jessy teleported into the city in her invisible form.
Hovering up in the air, it only takes her twenty minutes to find the said subdivision. The house bearing the B-20 and L-10 address was a modest two-story house. There was a car in the open garage, a manicured lawn can be seen inside the see-through iron gate. It was a decent house with a cute and homey appearance.
She hovered above the iron gate and entered the open door.
She steps into the living room, an old woman was sitting in the wheelchair, then and an old man was sitting on the sofa, they were watching television together.
In the nearby kitchen, a middle-aged woman was slicing an apple on the chopping board then after a few minutes, the woman took out a mug from the plastic dish drainer and scooped three-tablespoon powder milk into the mug and poured hot water on it.
She brought the platter of sliced apple and the mug of milk into the living room and placed them on the center table within the old folks reach.

"We will be celebrating Lilian's 25th birthday tomorrow, I already ordered a cake and I will be cooking her favorite dishes tomorrow evening," the middle-aged woman spoke.
Grandma and Grandpa were staring at each other, their faces were tainted with extreme sadness.
Grandpa released a deep sigh. "I pray to God that we will see our granddaughter very soon. We will just keep believing and praying to God that she's still alive somewhere out there."
"God, I missed my eldest daughter so much! She's been missing for two years already," the woman who looks like Lilian was already crying.
A middle-aged man comes down from the stairs wearing corporate attire. He walked into the living room and planted a kiss on his wife and his parent's forehead. "I'll be going back to the office..." he said and left the living room heading towards the garage.
Jessy saw the car getting out of the driveway. She shifted her attention towards the three people in the living room and listened to their conversation.
"We have kept the ad running for two years already in the missing person's corner in the leading newspaper, yet until now no one can give up a tip of Lilian's whereabouts. I'm losing my mind thinking about what happened to my precious girl in these past two years. Her absence in our lives is killing me!" the mother said whimpering.
Grandma rubbed her daughter-in-law's back. "I honestly believe that my granddaughter is still alive. I never doubted it. Tomorrow is her birthday, if she can't come back to us, there's still another day and another week and months, we will patiently wait for her return, we just can't give up on her."
Grandpa was holding a newspaper dated two years ago, they start posting the missing person ad on the national newspaper one month after Lilian disappeared without a trace.

There's plenty of newspaper beneath the center table some recent some were old edition.
Lilian disappeared after coming home from a birthday party that was attended both by her and her boyfriend, Alex, the guy she's destined to marry the year after.
Alex was investigated by the police assigned to the case because he was the last person who saw her girlfriend before she went missing. But Alex was adamant that they parted ways in the entrance of the subdivision. That was the last time the lovers see each other, the guard on duty during that night can prove that Alex's statement was true.
The police investigator stop interrogating Alex after he undergoes a lie detector test and passed with flying colors, he was telling the truth, he was not involved in his girlfriend's disappearance. The theory was that Lilian disappeared inside the subdivision, which is kind of strange. Unless someone was waiting for her inside the subdivision and abducted her, but the guards told the investigator that they did not see any stranger or unregistered vehicle entering the subdivision on the day she went missing.
Lilian's disappearance was a big mystery.
The homeowners of the subdivision were plunged in fear, they can't believe that someone will go missing inside the neighborhood. Until days, weeks, month and years passed by, people have gradually forgotten about Lilian's disappearance.
But Lilian's family can never forget their precious missing family member. They pray to God every day for a miracle hoping that every time they wake up in the morning that will be the day she will come back in their lives. Unless they can't see her dead body, they believed that she was still alive and surviving somewhere, safe.
That kind of hope binds them closer together, they were trying to stay strong for each other.
Thirty minutes later, the iron gate opened and a woman in her early 20's appeared in the doorway and went inside the living room, she was holding a shopping bag in her right hand with a gift inside.
She planted a kiss on her mother and her grandparents' head. "I bought a gift for my elder sister, she will be turning 25 tomorrow!" she smiled a bit trying to liven up the gloomy atmosphere inside the living room. Last year she also bought a gift for her missing sister and put them in her bed, since the two of them were sharing a room. She missed her sister very much!
"We will celebrate Lilian's birthday every year whether she comes back to us or not," the mother said wiping the tears from her face.
Lilian's younger sister climb the stairs, tears were streaming down her face.
Once inside the room, she fished out the gift from the shopping bag and placed it on the bed next to hers. "Happy Birthday Sister!"
She picked up her missing sister's pillow and hugged it tightly with a deep longing in her tear-stained eyes.
...
Jessy wiped the single tear that fell from her left eye.
It's now time to go back to the Facility.
