The Last Embrace Chapter 250

Adam arrived on the Facility at 12:30, he went directly to Jessy's room. He found his beloved sitting on the bed brushing her hair.
Jessy smiled sweetly at him. "Yaay! You're finally here!" she catapulted into his open arm.
Adam showered Jessy's cheeks with kisses. "Eh, you miss me already?"
"I always miss you!" she responded.
Their lips automatically locked in a searing kiss.
After a few minutes, their lips parted.
Adam asked, "You want to rest first, Jess?"
Jessy shook her head. "Nah, I just finished blood transfusion thirty minutes ago. I already rested well." Done styling her hair in a ponytail she slid her hand into Adam and they were holding hands.
"Let's go outside!" Adam said and they teleported outside the Facility in their invisible form.
They soared above the sky and got a good bird's eye view of the whole Facility and the Habitat.
Adam began casting his power creating light blue invisible shield coating the entire perimeter of the Facility from the ground to the top.
After finishing the shield, Adam stops with satisfaction in his eyes.
"I'm done with the Facility!" Adam said.
"Awesome!" Jessy pointed her hand to the right, "Next is the Habitat!"
They hovered towards the Habitat. They looked down below them, the swimming pool was already deserted and there's not a single person walking in the pathways outside the building, everyone was already in their rooms resting for the night.
"Perfect!" Adam murmured. He began casting his power and bluish color light emanated from his hands and the light spreads out and coated the entire Habitat.
A moment later.
Done erecting the shield, Adam smiled at Jessy. "Finished my love! What else do you want me to do?"
Jessy was pondering on what exactly the shield can do to protect the Facility and the Habitat from danger? "Hmm...what exactly the shield can do protect the Habitat?" Jessy asked. She had erected a shield before on the Facility but she never tested it if it's effective or not. "What are you thinking while you are making the shield?" she asked him.

"Simple. I just instructed my brain to create a protective shield that can repel any foreign objects that may hit, slam, or enter the perimeters of the Habitat. So basically, that is the core of the shield, erecting a barrier preventing foreign objects of any kind to harm the structure of these buildings," Adam elaborated.
"Exactly....okay, now we have to test it!" Jessy moved her right hand and using her power she summoned a stone the size of her palm from below, like a magnet the stone floated from the ground and landed on her palm. Holding the hard object in her palm she was about to throw it into the Habitat's surface...
"Not here, let's do it at the back!" Adam said.
They hovered into the back of the Habitat.
Jessy released the stone from her grasp hitting the shield, to their delight the stone bounced back, it didn't fall into the Habitat. This means the shield was in place and fully activated protecting the whole area against harmful objects and invaders.
"Now let's try using my power..." Adam said. He began growing fire in his right hand and then hurled it at the surface of the Habitat, the fire suddenly died when it hit the invisible shield.
"Success!" Jessy clapped her hands in glee upon realizing that the shield was working well to protect the Habitat. "Cool! This is awesome!"
Adam looked at his princess. "Impressed?"
Jessy nodded her head and gave Adam a thumbs-up sign.
"Hmm, yeah I'm truly impressed for now. Though...I'm just wondering if weapons such as firearms, bombs and nuclear heads if dropped from the sky can harm the shield? How long can the shield last when being pounded by the humans' powerful weapons? The military's full force may attack us anytime and I'm sure they won't use simple bows and arrows on the Habitat and the Facility," Jessy said.

Adam was in deep thoughts as well after hearing Jessy's comments.
He spoke after a while, "Well...if we can obtain military weapons we might be able to test the shields protectiveness but I don't think we should go that far if the enemies will begin attacking the Facility and the Habitat that will be the time the shields endurance can truly be tested, but when that moment finally comes we won't be depending much about the shield's help because we can use our skill and power to fight the enemies. The shield it's just a temporary safety net but there is no guarantee it can hold on for a long time, our best weapon is to fight the enemies using our power," he explained.
"Okay, I got it," Jessy muttered to herself.
"So...since I am already here...why don't we hunt for Jagger together in the forest?" Adam suggested.
"Sounds a good idea! Let's go!" Jessy responded enthusiastically.
They zoomed into the direction of the forest, looking below and above the trees. They'd been searching for Jagger's whereabouts everywhere in the forest but they failed to find him.
How about in the cave?
With Adam following her, Jessy zoomed into the direction of the cave where the rescued mortals were found. "Let's go to his cave!" she blurted.
"Lead the way, my love!" Adam responded.
A few minutes later, they finally arrived at the cave. When they explored the cave, they were greeted with darkness and deserted space. When the savage vampires were still inhabiting the area the cave was once bustling with life and activity....now it's completely abandoned, no signs of life, even the leader's bedchamber was empty.
"Looks like he already abandoned this cave," Adam commented.
Jessy agreed. "Yeah, he must be making a new camp somewhere in this forest or he already went back to his brother's dwelling to live there. Do we have to continue looking for him?" she asked.
Adam shook his head. "Nah, I think there is no need to look for him, he will show up if he wants to, just let him be, after all, he is already alone on his own, he is no longer a threat to us," he concluded.
Jessy was yawning. "Gah! I'm feeling sleepy already!" she uttered.
"Let's go back to the Facility then," Adam suggested.
"Okay, race you to the Facility!" Jessy zoomed ahead into the direction of the Facility leaving her boyfriend behind in the dust.
Adam grinned, he will let his girlfriend win this time. After seeing that his beloved already covered a hundred miles ahead of him he zoomed in to her direction.
He hovered above the Facility and saw Jessy waiting for him.
She gave him a beautiful pout. "I won!"
Adam grinned and hugged Jessy tightly. "I love you, of course, I'm not your match. I will let you win all the time," he said, his voice so gentle and loving it melted Jessy's heart.
A few minutes later, they were already inside Jessy's room.
The couple looked into each other's eyes.
"Sleep time!" Adam said.
Fifteen minutes later.
They cuddled in the bed, luxuriating in the closeness of their bodies and then they closed their eyes drifting into dreamland.

The Crucible - (Terror Infinity Fanfic)
There has always been those that stood out from the crowd. Heroes of old, undefeated warriors and demigods battling beasts of myth. These stories are written off as fiction and folk stories of ignorant people long lost to time. Nothing to prove them true except old family stories but what if people just weren't looking in the right place. Old truths no longer apply to the modern age of science but that doesn't stop them. The system that protects and finds these great people still exists and asks the same question it always has. “Do you want more than this life? Want to live… a real life?” YES/NO Who hasn't read Terror Infinity and thought I wonder what upgrades I would choose. I love the Web Novel and Side B. I did change a lot but the basic premise is still the same. Feel free to leave thoughts and suggestions in the comments. This is my first attempt at writing and I haven't done much of it since I left University 13 years ago. This is also more of a hobby than trying to become an author but that doesn't mean I will drop it just don't expect fast releases. I will mainly work on an Arc and post the arc's chapters in groups when I finish a whole arc. Kinda like Side B used to be.
