The Last Embrace Chapter 228

That night she gathered all the mortals into the conference hall.
"Hello everyone! My name is Jessy," she revealed her real name to them so that they will trust her more. Anyways, after their memories were erased they will forget her name.
"Hello..." they answered in unison.
"I want to go straight to the point, those who are not feeling good health-wise, please go over there," she pointed her finger to the right side of the room. "Our doctor will evaluate your health and give you medication to make you feel better and cure any sickness that you are experiencing right now," Jessy said.
Twenty-three people stood up and went to the area that Jessy mentioned. The rest of the twenty people stayed on their seats, she scanned their faces, they looked healthy.
"Now, guys listen to me, you will write your name, age and elaborate clearly what are the discomfort or symptoms you noticed in your body right now, this will help the doctor diagnosed your illness faster and gives you proper medications," she explained.
Jessy picked up 23 pieces of an index card from the table in front of her as well a few pens and distribute them to the people on the right side of the room.
"Ma'am, can you please tell us what is this place?" one of the guys spoke.
Jessy pondered for a moment, telling them the truth will only complicate things, so they should know nothing.
"I decided not to answer your question, it's better that you keep your curiosity to yourself. The less you know—the better for your safety. I will just give you an honest answer, this place is top confidential, we don't divulge our location to anyone because it concerns the safety of everyone involved, for security reason—that's it. I'm sorry I can't tell you where this place is. You only have to remember one thing, we saved you from those savages vampires because you need saving, you don't deserve the brutality that they inflicted on you through the years."

"A-are you a vampire, Ma'am?" one person asked bravely.
The conference room fell silent.
Everyone was looking at Jessy with a deep curiosity in their eyes.
Jessy looked at everyone, they are waiting for her honest answer. Maybe, she doesn't have to lie anymore.
She went closer to them and opened her mouth wide for everyone to see. "See— guys I don't have fangs— right?" she said.
They all nodded in agreement.
"B-but those white-cloaked vampires who killed the savages vampires...they are also vampires, right?" one of the women asked.
Jessy nodded her head. "Yes, they are the good vampires who lend me an extra hand to help rescue you guys. For your information, there are two types of vampires in this world, bad and good. Just like us human beings, there are bad people and good people, I hope you understand now."
"And you—Ma'am? Are you a half-human and half-vampire?" asked the oldest person of the group.
"S-she must be crossbred!" one of them shouted.
Everyone fixed their attention on her wanting to hear her confirmation. Jessy narrowed her gaze on the person that voiced out the statement. "W-what do you know about the crossbred, dude?" she asked.
"My Aunt and I are very close to each other. She had a love affair with a vampire, she loves that vampire guy so much, she is very happy with him. I have talked to the vampire a few times but it's just short conversation. The guy looks nice and seemed to be of good character. My Aunt's vampire lover told her about the crossbred in the prophecy," answered the guy.
"So—what happened to her vampire lover?" Jessy asked, her curiosity was mounting.
"One day, the vampire died due to the anti-vampire vaccine," replied the guy.
"Oh, that's sad!" Jessy said. While she may have a feeling of sadness for the vampire who perished because of the anti-vampire vaccine, the people inside that room were not even affected at all.

Jessy looked at everyone. "Guys, let's not talk about me anymore. How about we will talk about your experience with your living quarters. Are you liking your new accommodations? Does the food taste delicious?" she asked wanting to steer the topic away from the crossbred topic.
"Yeah, I love the cleanroom and the bathroom, it's a million times better than those stinky cages in the cave, I finally feel human again after a long time. When we are still imprisoned in those filthy cages we feel like we are animals," said one guy.
"The foods here are delicious, it's like cooked foods from back home where I originated, they taste like my beloved mom's cooking," one woman said with a deep longing in her voice.
"The bed is soft and comfy, our rooms are clean feels like we're in heaven, we love it!"
"The clean water is heavenly, yay! I can finally take a bath every day!"
"Thank you so much for the comfy and clean living accommodation, Ma'am! We are very much thankful for your kindness on saving us from hell!" they all said in unison feeling grateful for their savior.
"You're welcome, guys! I can assure you, you are all worth saving!" Jessy gave everyone her friendliest smile.
One guy raised his right hand.
"Yes, what is it?"
"Ma'am, can we go out of our room? I like to see the sun even for a few minutes?" a woman said.
Jessy looked at the woman in the eyes. "I'm sorry that we can't allow you that. But rest assured that sooner or later you will have plenty of sunshine after you go home back to your family. All I'm asking is that please bear with me, your situation today won't last long. There are some restrictions when it comes to exploring the surrounding area here, all I can say is that everything I said and everything I do is for your good, are we clear— guys?"
Everyone nodded their heads.
"Shhh...let's just be grateful for them for saving us, we should not demand more from them," one guy said.
"Agree!" replied the others.
"I'm sorry for asking, Ma'am," said the woman who mentioned about the sunshine, feeling shy all of a sudden.
Jessy smiled at her. "It's okay, I understand the feeling of being kept inside the room all day and all night long, it's not the most pleasant feeling in the world but your room is more tolerable compared to the cave, right?" she reminded them of where they come from.
"Yes!" they all answered cheerfully.
"Okay, that's good! Now can I have the index card—please?" she shifted her attention to the sickly group.
One guy gathered all the index cards and handed them to Jessy.
She read their writings...their sickness ranging from nausea, dizziness, vomiting, weakness of body, headache, insomnia, and etcetera. Their sickness seems to be not that serious though, but she's not a qualified doctor so she won't give a diagnosis to anyone, she'd better leave it to the physician who is more capable of handling human illness.
Jessy glanced at the people in front of her.
"Okay, guys, I already have your index card here, I will have a doctor talked to you soon. This meeting is adjourned. Let's all go back to your rooms now," she said.
Jessy sauntered to the door first and everyone was following her lead back into their living quarter.
Everyone walked eagerly into their respective rooms.
Jessy was feeling relieved that they are getting submissive to her.
After locking the rooms outside, Jessy left the area and went back to the clinic.
