The Last Embrace Chapter 222

The king shook his head vigorously. "Erasing all their memories that they belong to the savage vampire clan is like stripping off their legacy, they would act like a mindless zombie because their mind is blank, it will be torture to watch them like that, my wife can only erase memories but she can never install new memories in somebody's head. Besides if you transformed them into mortals there is a big chance they would plan revenge and create chaos inside the Habitat because we killed all their kin, no, we can't afford that to happen. If you can think of any alternative, I'm willing to listen," he said.
Jessy breathed deeply. "Give me a few minutes to think of a better way, Father. I will teleport the caged people first into the Facility...I might already have a solution after I come back here, besides I still need to save other humans in the clearing ahead."
"Okay," the king murmured.
Jessy entered the cave and went into the clearing where she previously has frozen the caged people and the savaged vampires that were guarding them. She saw that the savage guards were already gone replaced by the king's men. The king probably already unfrozen the savage guards and killed them on the spot based on the blood that was soaking the ground.
She waved her hands on the cages unfreezing the mortals.
The people inside the cages were staring at Jessy and their eyes darted to the white-cloaked vampires with frightened eyes.
"Listen up people, we are here to save you. We already killed all the savage vampires that imprisoned you in these filthy cages. I will open your cage now, all I ask from you is please don't run so that we can all leave this cave and bring you to a much safer place—you understand me, guys?"

They all stared at Jessy with apprehension in their eyes, no one is brave enough to speak among them.
"Don't worry people, I'm not one of the vampires who kidnap you, I am human just like you," she explained calmly.
They were silently watching Jessy, finding it difficult to trust her, but they have no other choice either, they have to hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
When Jessy opened up their cages one by one they huddled together like frightened animals in the corner, their eyes kept darting to the imposing white-cloaked vampires guarding the area and back to Jessy.
After freeing the caged people, Jessy addressed them again. "Listen up everyone, please...follow me outside the cave!" Jessy sauntered ahead and they followed her silently...the guards in white cloak were tailing them from behind.
After they emerged outside the cave, the caged people were greeted with the sight of a burning pit and the dead bodies of the savaged vampires lying in the ground...for the first time in the long duration of their captivity a smile curled up in their lips...finally their nightmare and suffering had ended tonight!
They are free!
They wanted to shout for joy but the presence of the white-cloaked vampires surrounding them prevented them from celebrating...what if they are going to become the captives of these strangers again?
Jessy waved her hand at the ten frozen women, unfreezing them, they all come back to life to the surprise of the caged people. The women sprinted to their companions' side and they huddled together like frightened animals staring at the strangers with distrust.
Ah, these mortals, they still find it hard to trust her!
She can't waste any more of her time pacifying their fears, she has to keep moving! There still more people to save in the forest!

Jessy waved her hand freezing the humans, then she teleported them into the Facility, landing into the conference hall.
Queen Margaret and Princess Abigail were already waiting there for the new arrivals, they wore casual human clothing just to make the guest feel at ease.
"Jessy, we already prepared the room for them. We put clothing in their bed, and placed toiletries in the bathroom, as well as foods in the table, each room can house four people, you can now bring the mortals into there living quarters," the queen said.
"Thank you, Mother," Jessy said.
She unfreezes the caged people.
The peoples' eyes widened, they were not prepared for the quick change of environment, the last time they remembered they were still in the forest but how come they are now inside a conference room? Thankfully they were no longer surrounded by the white-cloaked vampires. Everything is happening so fast—as if it's all just a figment of their imagination.
"Welcome everyone!" the queen and the princess greeted the new arrivals with their warm friendly smile.
The caged people don't know how to react to the two strangers in front of them.
"W-where are we—?" one of the women asked bravely.
Jessy looked at their bewildered faces. "Okay listen up guys, I know you have lots of questions, I will answer them one by one after you clean yourself in the bathroom and eat your meals in your rooms, okay? I will bring you now to your rooms, follow me!" she said energetically.
The thoughts of clean rooms and foods filled the caged people's minds with excitement, they follow Jessy obediently.
They went to the designated rooms for the new arrivals and Jessy put four people in one room based on their gender. "I will be back guys to have a chat with you all, I still need to do some errands, enjoy bathing and eating your meals!" then she locked the rooms.
"W-why are you l-locking the r-rooms?" asked one of the caged people.
"Because you guys are in a different territory, although we are not your enemies but then there still danger outside, we need to keep you safe, I will explain everything, okay? Just trust me on this—please. If we have ill intentions towards you guys, we won't go the extra mile to give you new clothes to wear, foods to eat and clean rooms to sleep, am I right—?" she looked at them thoughtfully.
They all nodded with Jessy's statement, so far they were not harm physically, they slowly find themselves lowering their guards around her.
After settling all the guests into their respective rooms, Jessy released a sigh of relief.
She sauntered towards the queen and the princess. "I'm done, Mother, I will go back now to the cave because there still ten more people to rescue and I'm the only one who knows that place," she said.
"How are they doing—Jess?" Queen Margaret asked.
"Father is fine and so his men, some were wounded but nothing serious, they killed all the savages except the leader who disappeared out of nowhere," she explained.
"Okay, you can go back there now, child," the queen said.
Jessy teleported back into the cave.

Nights of Sambria: And the Wish of Light
“I discovered a secret. One I desperately wish could have stayed hidden. It was locked away, concealed in a fantastical world on the doorstep of 7 billion people who stayed utterly oblivious to it. If they will be spared the terror that is coming, I can’t begin to imagine. Know that a forgotten heritage of a dwindling people whispered, unknowingly sending a call to the ancient mysteries of the world. Something listened. And now events are set in motion that could force the earth on a course of terrible change. I am being hunted and have run out of time. There were no stories about it. No legends. Not even scribbles. Yet, the threat of it is real and that’s why I’m writing this warning with shaking hands. So pay attention those who read this, be careful of what lies waiting cloaked in the darkness. That which made their home the lost places of this world.” She folded the letter with a shuddering breath and stared back in the direction from where the noise reverberated through the halls. It was of stone doors shattering one by one. The chances of getting out safely were all but gone. The letter in her hand was all warning they would have. It dropped into one of the Wells and all that could be done now was hope it was found in time, if at all. -- This was my very first large story. ;) I started writing it years ago. Was fun, was difficult, but in the end, it is a story I hope that will inspire. The prologue is in first person perspective and the rest of the story in 3d. Just a little heads-up :P It is a fantasy epic with a contemporary twist for the start. The first arc of the novel is set inside our modern world, but as the mysterious events around Calin intensifies, the hidden secrets in the world start to become more fantastical. The story follows Calin, a young orphan in search of answers. But, the answers he seeks will change his life and that of his friends forever, for the secrets that caused his situation have far greater ramifications than the small village of Lamb's Crest could have known. Remember to leave ratings and reviews. I'm quite interested in hearing your thoughts on the story. ;) Enjoy reading, Omri Hope
