The Last Embrace Chapter 217

The next day.
After Jessy's 2nd blood transfusion for the day, she went to see the queen wanting to discuss rescuing the mortals and killing all the savage vampires bearing the Eight Point Star Symbol on their nape. They might be able to successfully rescue all the mortals, but another problem will arise, if they will return the mortals to the society right away...there will be press interviews asking what exactly happened to them during their disappearance? Everyone will keep asking and pressing for the truth, sooner or later the survivors will divulge to the public that they were kept in a cage as vampires source of blood supply.
The horrible truth will surely outrage the masses and they will be clamoring for the total annihilation of the remaining vampires. The general of the army might changed his mind and null his ceased order and then launch a surprise attack on the Facility. This will put everyone in the Facility in danger, including those who are in the Habitat.
The best solution is to gather all the rescued mortals into the Facility and erased their memories starting from the moment they were abducted and brought into the cage as prisoners in the hiding place. It's the only way to prevent them from spreading to anyone the horrible experiences they went through in the hands of their captors. Keeping them quiet is the only way to go, suppressing the truth is wrong but there's no other option—it has to be done.
Jessy and Queen Margaret were facing each other in the study room.
"You want to tell me something—Jess?" the queen asked.
"Queen Mother, do you still remember the cave where the fifty feeble looking vampires were rescued?"
"Yes, how about that cave?"
"Last night, I went there again to check the place, I saw one vampire there in the cave, he's powerful, he can freeze people, he can levitate in the air, based on my assessment on him he also has teleporting and invisible power. I managed to follow him and track his hideout and to my surprise, there are more or less—I'm not quite sure on this one—I think over a hundred savage vampires hiding in that cave just my rough estimate, and that vampire is the leader of the pack. Inside the cave where the savage vampires were taking shelter, there are thirty cages filled with human beings, I soon found out that the vampires feed directly from the mortals' arms sucking their blood. The mortals become the savage vampires' only source of blood supply."

Queen Margaret's eyes widened in horror. "Oh my! W-where is that place?"
"A hundred miles farther away from the first cave where we rescued the feeble looking vampires, I can take you there, Mother...and I discover another thing...after the vampires have done sucking dry the blood of the mortals, they removed the emaciated mortals from their cage and dumped them in the area where the humans can recuperate and restore their health, there is a section of the forest there that has a clearing and a wooden hut that housed more than ten captives and two babies, there are plenty of animals and human skulls that were being dumped in the center of the clearing, and there was also a stream nearby where the humans can catch fish and gather water, that place is livable but it would be futile to escape from that area because there are poisonous snakes and wild animals lurking in the shadow waiting for its prey. That area is a dangerous place for people to live..."
Jessy paused for a moment to catch her breath...then she continues her narration.
"If the humans will try to escape they won't be able to go far, they will die along the way. As soon the humans are healthy again they were being taken back into the cages inside the cave to continue supplying blood to the vampires. It's a never-ending cycle unless the mortals will die of natural death then that will be the time their horrific condition will come to end. I guess their leader is the one who abducts mortals from the city or any neighboring areas and brought them into the cave," Jessy revealed.
Queen Margaret's eyebrows knitted together. "How come they were not affected by the anti-vampire vaccine? I mean—those mortals are not vaccinated by the deadly vaccine?"

Jessy nodded her head...
"My theory is that they have their ways of finding out if the mortals are vaccinated or not if the mortals were injected with the anti-vampire vaccine they will kill those people because they are useless to them, they only take human prisoners that have not been vaccinated with the deadly vampire vaccine," Jessy explained.
Queen Margaret nodded her head in agreement. The blood of human being that is not tainted with the vaccine has a pleasant smell while the blood that has been injected with the anti-vampire vaccine has a horrible foul scent that makes every vampire terrified, but many vampires would just commit suicide to appease their thirst and continue drinking the blood and then dies a few minutes later.
"I want to rescue the mortals from their horrible condition, Mother. Rescuing them would mean killing those bastards! It's either I will do it alone or you will help me," Jessy said with determination in her eyes. "After I'm done rescuing them, I need to bring the mortals here to recuperate, please grant the mortals shelter, Mother," she pleaded.
Queen Margaret looked at Jessy in the eyes. "What exactly are your plans, Jess?"
"I need your help, Mother. I know you can erase memories, I beg you to please erase the unpleasant memories they experienced in the hands of the savage vampires—so that when I'm going to release them back to their people they no longer have any memories that can remind them of the horrible situation they encountered during their captivity," Jessy emphasized the importance of erasing their memories so as not to cause outrage by human society.
The queen's brows furrowed. "Why don't we just released them after we rescue them? Why we need to erase some of their memories?"
"Because if the army, the masses, and government officials will know that the mortals were being tortured and they were being subjected into horrific conditions in the hands of the vampires, it will cause outrage among the masses, they will start launching attack on us again, then we will no longer enjoy peace, only constant chaos to the very end. They won't stop unless all of us will die—because of their belief that all vampires are the same, for them, there is no good vampires or bad vampires, they generalized all the vampires under one category only— that we are bloodsuckers and the worst enemy of humankind," Jessy explained.

A modern man armed with having read a few novels about cultivation is suddenly transmigrated to a cultivation world. He fights to both survive and thrive in this new archaic world full of arrogant young masters, demonic sects, and incredibly hostile wildlife. Note: In this story, I wanted to focus a lot more on what most novels skim past in regards to cultivation, namely the whole, spiritual growth aspect that seems to be entirely absent from the prosses of obtaining enlightenment the majority of the time, but the method of gaining cultivation. how it works, and what kind of world would develop around it are all things I wish to explore in this novel.
