The Last Embrace Chapter 203

A few days later.
~Sunday~
Jessy informed the doctor that she will only do blood transfusion until 6:00 in the evening. She will be having a date with Adam tonight. She will spend the rest of her evening with her boyfriend and she's been looking forward to this date the whole week, she missed him terribly.
She donned a color maroon blouse, blue jeans, and her black sneaker, she wore her brown leather jacket over her blouse and tied her hair in a ponytail.
She's ready to go!
She was about to teleport herself into Adam's condominium unit but she suddenly heard an urgent knocking on the door.
She opened the door right away.
It's the doctor's assistant.
"Jess, you need to go back to the clinic right now! There are two sick dying people you need to transfuse with your blood right away, that if you want to save their lives!" the assistant said in a worried tone.
"Okay, let's go!" Jessy waste no time she teleported right inside the clinic.
Inside the clinic, she saw the sick vampires lying in the bed.
"Jess, you have to choose, which of them you will do blood transfusion first? only one at a time!" the doctor said.
"How critical are their situation, Doc?" she asked.
"These two here are very ill, they will die tonight unless there's a miracle, I'm not sure if your blood can still do the magic but we will try," the doctor replied feeling uncertain.
Jessy pondered for a moment. "Let's do blood transfusion at the same time, Doc! Let's try it!"
The doctor was shaking his head vigorously. "No! I won't allow it! Your body might not be able to handle too much blood taken out from your body at once!"
Jessy breathed deeply. "It's not the time to argue, Doc! Let's do it before it's too late!" she said. "That's my order!" she said in a hard voice.
The doctor and the assistant immediately sprung into action, they inserted the two-needle in Jessy's left and right arms as she was sitting in the center between the two beds...then they attached the IV drips, they also inserted the needles in the arms of the unconscious vampires, a few minutes later, Jessy's blood was now flowing into the vampires blood vessels.

Instead of one hour, the doctor cut the time after 45 minutes fearing that Jessy's body will be drained with blood.
Jessy was frowning.
"Is it okay—Doc? I mean it usually lasts one hour of blood transfusion that is our normal time," she said when the doctor was about to take off the needle from Jessy's arm.
"I'm just afraid that your body will be drained with blood if we continue at one full hour," the doctor voiced out his fears.
Jessy shook her head. "No, let it be. Let's make it one hour, let's not cut it! We must make sure they get enough of my blood. Anyways it's just fifteen minutes more to go, I'm perfectly alright, so please don't worry about me," she insisted, convincing the doctor is very hard.
"A-are you sure?" the doctor said, his face filled with worry. Although he knows that Jessy is a powerful crossbred but she had a mortal body, there's a limit to everything when it comes to the body. But he also knows that Jessy would put others' safety first before her own.
Jessy nodded her head. "I will let you know if I'm starting to feel weak and dizzy, okay?" she said trying to make the doctor feel at ease. She was also trying to feel any changes in her body since a huge amount of blood was taken out from her body simultaneously.
So far, she feels perfectly alright.
Fifteen minutes later.
The doctor and the attendant were already taking out the needle from Jessy's veins.
A huge sense of relief washed over them.
The doctor looked at Jessy closely. "Are you okay—Jess?" he asked.
Jessy smiled at the doctor. "Of course I am okay, Doc, as I said before don't worry about me, I'm strong as Ox," she said. "Why don't you check on them, if they are okay?" she motioned her head to the vampires lying on the bed unconscious.
"Their breathing is normal now compared earlier before the blood transfusion started," said the assistant.
"That's good news!" the doctor said feeling relieved.

Jessy rose to her feet. "I'm going back to my room, Doc," she said after feeling something is wrong...
"Okay, thank you and take care, Jess, rest well! You can take a break the whole day tomorrow, we will just resume the blood transfusion the day after," he said.
Jessy nodded her head and teleported inside her room.
She was standing on the edge of her bed when suddenly she feels so dizzy...then her world was spinning round and round...she saw stars a thousand of them in her eyes...and she pass out in her bed...unconscious...she fainted!
...
Adam arrived at the mansion at 6:30 in the evening.
He went into the kitchen and saw Nana Aida preparing foods. "Good evening, Nana!"
Nana Aida looked at Adam and smiled broadly. "Wow, you're early, where is Jessy? I'm still cooking the last dish for our dinner," she said.
"I thought she was already here," Adam said. "You need help, Nana? I'm available!" he offered.
Nana Aida shook her head. "No need. I already finished cutting the vegetables, onions, and garlic. I will now start cooking the last dish, just stay there in the living room and watch some news while waiting for Jessy..."
"Okay, Nana," Adam said. He went to the living room and browsed on the sports channel, he watched a motor racing sports competition.
Thirty minutes later.
Nana Aida was done cooking dishes. She retired into the living room while waiting for Jessy to arrive, she set the table ready.
Adam was looking at the clock, it's nearing 8:00. "Where is Jessy? Why she's still not here?" he said in a loud voice.
Nana Aida looked at Adam and suggested, "I think you should look for her in the Facility."
"Yes, Nana—that's what I've been thinking," Adam said. "I will go now and fetch her," he said and disappeared instantly from Nana Aida's vision.
Nana Aida rose to her feet...she went into the dining room and covered the dishes.
...
Adam appeared in Jessy's room in the Facility.
There she is!
Sleeping soundly in her bed. Did she forget that they have a date? Then he saw that Jessy was still wearing her sneaker shoes while sleeping—huh?
"Jess..." he called her name softly, she's not answering his call. He took off her shoes from her feet and put them down on the floor then lay her body in the bed properly.
He lies down beside her in the bed hugging her from behind. "Sleep well my love," he said and kissed her cheek.
One hour later.
Jessy stirred in her sleep. She noticed a masculine arm wrapped around her arms protectively...when she investigates who's arm it is—it's Adam's!
She smiled brightly at him. "Since when did you arrive here?" she asked.
"An hour earlier," he answered. "I found you sleeping in your bed with your shoes on, so I guess you are very sleepy and decided to take a nap," he said. "Are you okay—Jess?"
Jessy smiled sweetly at him. "Of course I am," she answered. She closed her eyes and feel her body's condition. She seemed to be feeling well now compared earlier when she fainted—it must be the result of her body weakening due to too much blood taken out from her body at the same time. She reminded herself not to do it again in the future.
"Care to share your thoughts with me?" Adam said peering at her face closely.
Jessy shook her head. "I'm fine, no need to worry, let's go to the mansion now," she said. She won't tell Adam what happened to her earlier, she doesn't want him to worry and make a fuss about the reason why she fainted.
"Okay, let's go!" Adam said.
Jessy and Adam disappeared from the room.

Prey No More
Imagine being given a second chance at life. Not only that but with a life you chose (sort of). This is exactly the situation that our character is in. He was once a Biology Graduate Student involved in a special program in Alaska studying Polar Bears. In an ironic twist of fate his life is ended by exactly that which he was trying to study. Now, in a new world, he refuses to be anything but the top of the food chain. IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a story I began writing a year and a half ago and decided to shelf, I'm coming back to it now because I miss writing; however, I have not carved out any time specifically for this and, as of now, it will be something I do on the side for fun. Currently I have 9 chapters plus a prologue written; I'm going to be going through and editting it to be in a present tense (from past), as well as changing some of the story and grammar. Let me know what you think, and thanks for reading.

Unwitting Champion
"In stories this is always easy. There's magic and powers, and quick steps to claiming that power for one's self. This doesn't feel true for me. I'm supposed to be a Champion, whatever that means, and yet I don't feel important. I don't have all the bells and whistles, which honestly feels familiar even in a new world. But what was I expecting? I haven't had the worst life - there are people with worse problems than mine - I've known what it is to struggle, to be pulled down instead of being helped up.This is nothing new."When in great peril, the Kingdom of Althor has no choice but to send a call into the void, beseeching the Fates to bring them a man who would save them from the coming darkness. Unfortunately the path the Fates chart is often unknowable to men and the Champion who appears is not what the kingdom expected.Unwitting Champion is a story of a guy displaced, dealing first and foremost with trying to survive in a world where he is no longer a person but a tool, and - at least from the reaction of those around him - a shoddy one at that. His major goal is to survive long enough that either he can run or find a way home, because as exciting as the possibility of learning magic might be, he would rather have a boring life than a short life.
