The Last Embrace Chapter 167

"Yes Sir!" the captain shifted on his feet. "There is one more thing you need to know, Sir!"
"What is it?"
"You remembered that famous serial killer in the park that was killed by me?"
"Yeah, what about him?"
"The person who killed that serial killer that night is not me...it's the crossbred's undoing...that is the first time I've been in that park, I have no intention to go there..."
The colonel was frowning. "How did you even got there in the first place?"
"The crossbred waited for me at the parking area of this camp and froze me, then she teleported me into that park intending to kill me. If we're set on to annihilate all vampires from the face of the earth, that crossbreed is also hell-bent to kill anyone who will attack the facility, their last frontier. She made me chose what kind of death I want, it could be through suffocation, being buried alive, drowning by water or death by fire, she can command and manipulate all those four elements...she told me to chose wisely and she will return after taking a walk around the park. Then while I am sitting there in the bench frozen from neck to toe and can't even scream for help because my mouth was fucking frozen as well...I stared in shocked when I saw a guy sprung from the bushes holding a knife and with lightning speed ambushed the crossbred slitting her throat, as the crossbred crumbled into the ground holding her bloody neck with her hands the serial killer approached me and was about to slit my throat as well but he was frozen a few inches from me...it turns out the crossbred was still alive...I was shocked to see her neck...with no knife wound on it."

"You mean to say...her body can heal on its own?" asked the colonel.
"Yes, Sir! the only way to kill her is to dismember her body and burn her....but since it's impossible to kill her, you can never hurt her, she's too powerful...no one can touch her. We may be able to annihilate the vampires with lesser power that were hiding in the Facility but we can never kill the crossbred. Since she is human, her body has immunity from the anti-vampire vaccine," the captain said.
"But we can trap her with a net or something like that..." said the colonel.
"No, it won't work, she can teleport and go invisible mode anytime she wants, we can never capture her alive...and once we will attack the remaining vampires she will kill everyone involved in the attack including the soldiers family and all the military officials to the highest rank. I'll tell you, Sir, she may be kind but you haven't seen her go crazy mad, and I'd seen her in that scary situation when she got really angry...that's when she snatches the knife from that serial killer's hand and slits the throat of that killer twice without batting an eyelash, I know she is capable of murdering everyone in cold blood, she can be that deadly if provoked," said the captain.
Colonel Brown's mouth twitched...he shifted on his seat.
"I have something important to tell you, Sir..."
Colonel Brown looked at the captain. "What is it?"
"I will retire and quit my job starting next month, I will have nothing to do with the vampire annihilation from now on, I can't keep destroying the same person that saves my life twice....it's fucking insane!" the captain said.
"What---?" the Colonel's eyes widened.
"That's my fixed decision, Sir, and nothing can change that, my entire family will be spared if I have nothing to do with the crossbreed anymore and distance myself from the operation of vampire annihilation," Captain Mercado explained.

"And what will you do with your life?"
"I will apply for any position in the police department, I'm sure I have some talent that can be useful there..."
"But I am working in your promotion to replace the late Major Miller...how can you turn your back on this great opportunity?"
"Becoming a Major and get killed along with my family after the promotion? Nah...sorry I'll pass...I still want to see my grandchildren in the future," the captain said seriously.
Colonel Brown was contemplating on what to do...next.
"What can make you---stay on your job?"
Captain Mercado looked at his superior in the eyes. "I will only stay in my job if you promised me that you will stop the operation against the Facility. It's the only way to prevent unleashing the dark side of that crossbreed, she told me that as long the Facility is not attacked, she will do no harm to us, she just wants to make her clan survive longer, I'm afraid that if we keep pursuing the operation we will lose all our outstanding military officers one by one," he said.
"And what if those powerful vampires will attack us instead if we do nothing to annihilate them first---?
"The crossbred was currently busy doing a blood transfusion on her clan on a daily basis turning them into mortals. Once they were transfused with her blood they will turn into humans within seven days...fangs gone and power gone as well. As of now she already converted 580 vampires into mortals and they were now eating human foods every day without craving for blood."
"So....the prophecy is true? I thought it was just a myth," the colonel said.
"Well, the only way to find out the truth is to inject the anti-vampire vaccine into the newly transformed mortals and see what will happen afterwards...no vampire can be immune with the powerful anti-vampire vaccine that was already proven legit by annihilating 90% of vampires population on earth," said the captain.
"How many vampires left to be transfused with her unique blood?"
"They were now down to a total of 5k vampires living under the Facility."
The colonel was in deep thoughts drumming his fingers on the surface of the table, then he spoke again. "If all the vampires will be turned into mortals there will be no threat anymore, am I right, Captain?"
"Yes, that's what I believe, Sir!" the captain replied.
"Actually...I have no deep hatred towards the vampire...you and me...our family were not harmed by the vampires...but as you can see it's General Smith who commanded the operation to hunt the remaining vampires and it was also backed by the President of our country which happens to be his relative...the President is General Smith's first cousin...and you know why? General Smith has a brother whose entire family of five was killed by the savage vampires a long time ago when the vampire vaccine has not yet been created...then Smith's brother killed himself because of depression, that is why General Smith commanded that all vampires will be annihilated from the earth. This mission is revenge-driven, he is not satisfied with the anti-vampire vaccine's result, he wants to get rid every single one of the remaining vampires which he vehemently calls parasite to our society..."

Toric the Soulless
Hello everybody, my name is Spotacus. English is my first language, but that does not mean I do not make mistakes. Please let me know if you see any. I am going to post the first few chapters of a story I have been fooling around with. The main character is a bit OP, but completely clueless about his power. This is a fantasy type story, and I may have missed some of the tags. Description Toric thought he was a pretty normal kid, with a normal and boring backstory, but he was wrong. Follow his adventures as he learns the truth about his history, and discovers exactly how very far he has to go in order to embrace his destiny. Life will never be the same after the arrogance of a mage gives Toric an ability that was lost in distant history. Lost for a reason.
