~Military Camp~
Colonel Brown was all smiles when Captain Mercado walked into his office and performED the hand salute.
"Captain Mercado reporting, Sir!"
Colonel grinned from ear to ear.
"Here you are! The man of the hour! Captain Mercado, you've done a good job! Congratulations! I'm so proud of you. In this mission...no one was hurt on your side even on the kidnappers' side, you were able to make them surrender without anyone getting hurt. I'm so impressed! My friend and his family were so happy that you saved his daughters and get back the ten million dollars ransom money. It's more than he expected from you, he's very grateful to you. One of these, he will see you face to face to personally extend his thanks to you. As for the rewards, he will send money rewards to you and your men's bank account as a gift for saving his daughters. And I will work on your promotion soon, we will have a press conference and tell the masses of your great achievements, you will become a household name after the press conference, ah, wait you're already famous for killing that serial killer in the park! This time your name will shine the brightest," he said.
Captain Mercado was silent the whole time his superior was talking about his fake achievements.
The colonel was frowning when he noticed the captain's grim expression. "Is there something wrong---Captain?"
"With all due respect, Sir! I can't accept the monetary rewards...nor accept the promotion or take the full credit on this mission. I have to admit that the first mission went well...but the second mission was a total failure..." the captain was ashamed to admit his failure remembering that he almost lost his life today.
"What---?" the Colonel's eyes widened. "What do you mean?" he was confused.

Captain Mercado took a deep breath filling his lungs with fresh air. "The second mission was a big failure and the kidnappers were about to kill me, including three of my men and the girl after they discovered my reinforcement but the crossbreed suddenly appeared and freezes the kidnappers, she disarmed those masked guys and go after the leader who fled in his motorcycle bringing the ransom money with him, she tailed him all the way to the city, then brought the leader back into the warehouse in a frozen estate along with the ransom money."
"And what happens next?" the colonel was shaking his head, he had difficulty believing completely the unexpected turn of events...he was shocked that the one who completed the mission and saved his men was their very own enemy, the crossbred!
Captain Mercado swallowed the lump in his throat feeling guilty of what he has done to the crossbred after she saved their lives. "I ordered the crossbreed to surrender because she was still our enemy, but she refused, so I give my command to all my men to kill her right on the spot..."
"Jesus---? Did s-she die?" the colonel's mouth opened.
Captain Mercado released a deep sigh. "My men bombarded her body with bullets..."
"So...where is her dead body now?" asked the colonel.
Captain Mercado fixed his eyes on the floor feeling ashamed. "She didn't die...she was standing proud in front of my men...smirking even looking at my boys after the shooting ended," he said.
"Huh? She survives...then? What happened?" the colonel was dying of curiosity.
"She freezes all the bullets and not a single bullet grazed her skin," the captain explained.
The colonel's eyes widened in horror. "Did...s-she retaliate? But I see the report and no one is hurt on your side...I don't understand---?"

The captain shook his head. "No. She did not retaliate, even though she was angry. She keeps her head cool and she was the most relaxed person I'd ever seen in the middle of war and violence, my men went all out to kill her but they failed...the crossbreed was a forgiving person. She could have killed me and my men on the spot but she didn't, instead, she went back to the warehouse and began unfreezing the frozen kidnappers three persons at a time and my men handcuffed those kidnappers...one by one...that's what really happens...there is no bloodshed because she took command and made that event non violent. It's all her undoing...she deserves to take all the credit on the success of this second mission, not me and my men," he explained.
Colonel Brown was dumbfounded, rubbing his chin with his fingers looking at his subordinate, he was having a hard time believing what he just heard from him.
"Are you having a hard time believing everything I told you right now---Sir?" Captain Mercado said.
"Yes," the colonel replied.
"This might help convince you, Sir," Captain Mercado took his second in command's phone from the pocket of his uniform and played the video that was taken during the time his men starts firing simultaneously at the crossbreed.
Colonel watched the video clip with disbelief in his eyes.
There...hovering up in the air is a young woman wearing black clothing...with hundreds of frozen bullets in front of her...then the terrified soldiers' faces scrambled out of the way...next...he saw the bullets were being released zooming simultaneously into the ground...if the crossbreed was hell-bent on revenge she could have killed the captain and his men by reversing the bullets and aimed it at the soldiers...if the bullets were released instantly during that time no one will be standing left alive along its path... that's for sure.
The colonel shuts his eyes and breathed deeply.
He found the video overwhelming...holy shit! It's like he was watching a movie clip of one of those superhero movies, but this time it's shockingly real! such a powerful human being...half vampire and half human do exist in this world!
"Arnold my right hand realized that the crossbreed was not hurt in any way and he was afraid of retaliation and we all know we are not match with her powers so he took the video as a reference record just in case that lady will kill us all out of revenge, at least there's a record that documented on what really happened that night to all of us, we are expecting the crossbreed will massacre us, but it never happened instead she help us all the way unfreezing the kidnappers and the girl without showing any anger on her face. I was blown away by her forgiving heart and her calmness and the way she was able to control her temper even if we are trying to kill her," Captain Mercado explained.
"This is a shocker!" Colonel Brown said. "Order Arnold not to release or share this video in any form to anyone, this is confidential! Once everyone knows about this crossbred's great potential, all hell will break loose!" the colonel said.

Rise for the Sky [Slow-Pace Multi-Lead Dungeon Crawler]
Sixty people have awoken at the bottom of a one hundred floor dungeon. Together they must confront the terror of monsters and seek the answers to why they are here. Expectations: This story is written from multiple perspectives, male and female. Most chapters are a single person, but there will be chapters where there are a couple of quick scenes with different people. The story does take place in a dungeon, but there is no leveling system. This a realistic take on the classic litRPG and iskai tropes written like a traditional novel. There is a profanity warning because I wish to be natural with how people talk and cursing is a thing people do. So it will happen where it makes sense. Gore is warned because this is a realistic take, and people will be torn apart by monsters. I don't plan to be overly detailed with it but be warned it will happen. Updates Every Monday. Chapters will be between 3,000 to 5,000 words. Fulfill Patreon goals to increase updates
