The Last Embrace Chapter 140

Fresh tears sprung from Captain Mercado's eyes. Is he really going to die tonight in the hands of this crossbreed? Oh well! Just like what his wife told him before when Major Miller suddenly passed away... 'Life works like that, you're here today gone tomorrow.'
"Since today is my last, can I say g-goodbye to my w-wife and c-children first?" he broke down, his voice was trembling.
"I'm sorry, I can't allow you to do that, don't worry I will bring your dead body to your house after I'm done killing you," she said.
Captain Mercado calmed his nerves. He never expected he will die tonight, he was expecting he will die in the line of duty, but not here, this place is so quiet as if the wind and the trees refused to even move an inch.
So eerie and quiet place to die.
"Uncle, I will go for a walk around the park and after I come back, you should have chosen the best way to die, think carefully," Jessy said, she freezes his mouth so that he can't shout for help but he can move his neck though, she rose to her feet and sauntered away from the captain.
The Captain's eyes were following her...
While she was walking near the bushes... a dark figure suddenly lunged at the crossbreed taking her by surprise...Captain Mercado saw an object glimmered in the light that was caught by the light in the lamp post, it's a knife! The man was holding a knife and slits the crossbreed's throat without warning! He saw the woman crumbled into the ground grasping her neck with her hands probably trying to stop the blood from gushing out from her neck.
Dammit, he can't even move a muscle!
Jessy was lying in the ground holding her neck, her hands already wet with her own blood, damn! that psycho killer on the loose took her by surprise, where is that bastard!? Then she saw her attacker wearing a black hood covering his face, holding the bloodied knife in his right hand, walking calmly towards Captain Mercado...he will kill the captain next. Right before the guy can lunge at the captain, Jessy waved her hand freezing him instantly on the spot.

Done freezing the serial killer she lies down on the grass calming the erratic beating of her heart and she shuts her eyes. Dammit! Why did she fail to see that psycho hiding behind the bushes? Was she dumb and stupid? she scolded herself.
While she was lying in the ground motionless...
Captain Mercado, was staring at the crossbreed...is she still alive or dead? Why she's no longer moving after freezing the guy? Damn! The irony of things...he's supposed to be killer was killed by a random serial killer on the loose! As he was staring at the murderer in front of him holding the knife in his right hand, he came to realized that if the crossbreed didn't freeze the killer on time there will be two dead people lying tonight in the park, him and the crossbreed.
What now?
People will be shocked to see the bloody scene tomorrow in the park.
They will see two people in a freeze estate and a dead woman lying in the ground covered by her own blood, her throat was slit by the killer's knife. How he will explain all these? And who will unfreeze them when the crossbreed was already dead?
Captain Mercado groaned in despair. Crap! This is absurd!
He doesn't want to be in the frozen state when the sun shines tomorrow, this is humiliating!
Then out of the corner of his eyes, he saw the crossbreeds hands moving towards her neck...Oh... God! she's still alive!
Then to his amazement, the crossbreed stood up as if nothing happens...unbelievable!
Jessy was staring at the pool of blood on the ground, dang! She loses a lot of blood today, what a waste! the amount of blood that was being wasted could have transformed at least two vampires today! Shiit!
She waved her hand on the area where her blood was soaking the ground to wipe away the evidence, it looks clean now and not a single drop of blood can be seen. Satisfied, she walked towards the serial killer her eyes were burning with rage.

When she was already facing the guy, she unfreezes his head and pushes away the hood from his eyes and she stared into the murderer's eyes. She snatches the knife that the guy was holding in his hand and using the same knife she slit his throat two times, the blood splattered on Jessy and the captain's faces.
Then she unfreezes the serial killer and he crumbled into the ground holding his neck trying to stop the blood from flowing from his neck.
A moment later...the killer's body spasm and twisted...then he died on the spot staring at Jessy's face...on his last breath he was confused why the woman was still alive, the cut he made on her neck was too deep it would be impossible for her to be alive! Then why? before he passes away, he saw the triumphant smirk in her eyes, he never knew that he would die in the hands of his latest victim #25.
Jessy unfreezes captain Mercado's mouth. "I changed my mind, I will no longer kill you tonight, I will give you one last chance just for the sake of your children and wife, I warned you again for the last time...do not attack the Facility! If you can do that I will never bother you again...I will leave you alone," she put the knife on the ground, she waved her hand erasing her fingerprints on the knife.
"You can improvise the story, let's just say you come here in the park to take a walk and you were attacked by the serial killer and you killed him out of self-defense, you know the drill better than I do. Good luck!" Jessy said, she waved her right hand on the Captain unfreezing him and then she completely disappeared from his sight before he can even move a muscle.
Captain Mercado rose to his feet and deliver a heavy kick on the serial killer's stomach. "That's for you for trying to kill me! Asshole!" he picked up the knife and slashed the killer's neck one time, just to give authenticity to his story tomorrow.
He picked up his cellphone from the pocket of his trouser and call the nearest police station to report the crime that has been happening in the park, done with his call, he roamed his eyes around the park, there's no CCTV camera near the area where the crime took place, great!
Perfect crime!
As he was staring at the face of the serial killer he was wondering how many people he just killed in the last ten months?
He was shaking his head...
By the way, where is the crossbreed?
Gone!
He doesn't know if he will be thankful to her for saving him or not?
But for now, he was thankful to God that he was still alive!
He sat down on the concrete bench and relaxes while waiting for the cops arrival, then he shuts his eyes to catch a few minutes of sleep, he released a deep sigh, there will be media circus tomorrow, he groaned.

Legends of Balarel - A Leisurely LitRPG
Glenn Redwood has longed to become an Adventurer since he was a young boy, and has focused every waking moment on that goal since turning 14. Answering the challenge of the Gods of Balarel, he has fought Monsters, Leveled, and grown stronger. Yet the day before his 16th birthday, the day he will earn his dream or lose it forever ... the Gods have made a wager. And no mere mortal wishes to draw the attention of the Gods. ***** This is my crack at writing a leisurely LitRPG. My focus is more on telling interesting stories set in a world where people live under a MMORPG-like ruleset enforced by the Gods, and less on writing another story where the MC gets massive stat boosts every chapter before heading off to wreck the world. There will be plenty of blue tables (it’s LitRPG!) but my Adventurers are just starting out. This fic is about the journey, not the destination, so expect everyone to Level ... leisurely. Updates: M-T-W-Th. I’ll post 3000-4000 words a day, or 12000-15000 words a week. If this posting pace ends up being too much for me, I reserve the right to slow posts down a bit. Inspirations: Blessed Time (Royal Road) Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In a Dungeon? (Anime) Trails in the Sky (JRPG Series) MC: My MC is a genuinely good person who’s both a talented warrior and tactically savvy. He prefers to solve problems without violence but will resort to force if necessary to protect his friends or innocent people. I’m tired of stories starring anti-hero MCs facing endless doom and gloom, so I wanted to write a nice guy with an adventurous spirit who helps people in a thriving fantasy world. That’s all.

Raven: The Beginning
'What's the worst that could happen'? is what I thought to myself as I entered the World of the Veil with a new, experimental machine that the company created. I was originally excited to participate in their alpha test, and now, looking back, I was just a naive little girl that didn't know what it was like to truly suffer. Sarah was one of the world's best assassin players, but she wasn't prepared for getting stuck as a low-level player in a new game. Suddenly she has to struggle just to survive against the monsters of the world, while also keeping her secret from the authorities. What happens when the killing, and the consequences, are just too real? Author's Note (and a Warning): This book is about a normal person that is forced into a fantasy / medieval environment. What could possibly go wrong with our heroine? This novel is a sort of, legacy. I wanted to at least put it out there before I passed away due to a combination of financial difficulty, homelessness, job loss, and my last interview taking up the last of my savings (which I did not get the job). If by some miracle, and I get a job that can give me a pay advance by next week (4/8) and I survive this turbulent time, I will edit this - and the formating of the book). If you are so willing, please donate on my patreon page. Regards, Dave

Rampaging Biology
It is the year 2199, the end of the 22nd century. Due to a biopocalypse unleashed by a certain genetic engineer, all life on the planet evolved at incredible speeds, but humans couldn't keep up so they built walled cities. The story follows a certain clone trying to find its place. The first 90ish chapters aren't those that I am proud of, but if you like the premise, stick around, it gets better in the 100s. incomprehensible thoughts
This is just the weird & random shit it my mind, for when I can remember them and when I have time to put those thoughts & feelings into words, IF I can even do that. Writing is one of the things that I couldn't live without, and it's weird because it's something that bloomed from some things that I now hate. Anygays, enjoy the show.
