Versatile: Alternate World Chapter 87

Aside from the ore, I needed for the quest, another familiar and precious ore is added in here.
[Adamantite]
A precious ore that is said to be so rare that many people thought it was just a legend until one is found. Armors, weapons, tools, and other metal works made from this material are well sought and will fetch an extremely high price. A failure work of metallurgy from a piece of ore of this will result in a Legendary Grade.
Although the Adamantite is a mythical metal alongside the Orichalcum and Mythril and does not exist in the real world, in Alternate World, these metals exist and they are one of the most sought materials by players due to how rare, valuable and expensive it was. Just from its description, a failed material can be sold to millions of gold and its grade will literally be Legendary Grade or higher depending on how less the failure of the item is.
Although I got the item I needed, Ingot of the Stars, the Adamantite is one of the best items I held in my entire life including my past timeline. I only heard this item and thought it was just an urban legend. Who would have thought I would be getting one of the ores?
The others are also good items but they are not as valuable as the Adamantite and I can only tell that they are rare items but they can be easily obtained in higher levels so it didn't spark much attention on me.
After checking out the contents of the bag and confirming the quest on Lina is completed, I helped Lina and her mother to fix the door of the inn before heading to Almira's Blacksmith shop. Aside from the materials, I also managed to improve my relationship with Lina and her mother. Lina's favorability with me also drastically rose which is quite good considering that raising relationship points to NPCs is hard.

When I arrived in front of her shop, I noticed the signboard on her shop is displayed "close" but due to my high relationship points with Almira, entering it despite being close is still a plausible thing to do. Entering the shop, Almira is currently resting and reading a book about advanced metallurgy techniques. Even when taking a break, she only thinks about smithing.
"Oh? I heard you already solved the matter of yours..." Almira said without raising her head.
"Yeah, your tip was helpful, and thanks for providing the info."
"Yeah, yeah, I don't really care. However, I am confused as to why you are here, you can clearly see the sign above the doorway that my shop is closed right? Why are you still here? You know that I don't sell as long as I am close."
"Well, I am not here to buy but to give an item for you to appraise since I got it accidentally," I said and pulled from my inventory the Ingot of the Stars.
Almira who was just as chill as ice earlier pukes out the tea on her mouth and stood up in shock.
"Ingot of the Stars! You obtained a valuable item from that troublesome monster in the lake?!" Almira's eyes are glowing as she grabs the Ingot of the Stars on the table.
"I was just as surprised as you, you know? It looks like a metal ore but this is the first time of me to see a twinkling ore, so my first decision is to get it appraised to someone who knows their stuff."
"Hehehe, kid, you have gone and asked the right person. In fact, I will make this worthwhile for you. I can purchase this metal and take it off your hands if you wanted to."

"Well, if you want to get this item, then I don't want money but I want you to teach me blacksmithing. I want to learn how to make weapons on my own!"
Almira was surprised by my demand but she calmed down immediately and started to discuss the reward.
"Blacksmithing eh? Are you sure you wanted to? Becoming a blacksmith is tedious and very hard work. I can teach you how to do blacksmithing but you need to persevere because I am a strict teacher, is that possible for you to endure?" Almira grinned.
"I have plenty of strict teachers in my life so adding another one is not a problem at all."
"If you are really determined, then I will make sure you will learn great things from me."
Then, the interface popped up in front of my face.
[Almira is offering herself to be your Blacksmith Mentor. Accepting her offer will allow the player to unlock the Ex Job: Blacksmith. Your blacksmith experience gained from doing Blacksmith work will also be doubled due to the mentorship you have with Almira. Accept her offer?]
[Yes/No]
Why would I say no? I immediately clicked yes.
"And with that, you are now my apprentice. Come here every day and I will test your aptitude tomorrow in blacksmithing so that I can easily teach you things you have yet to know."
"I understand."
"Oh and don't forget these things. They will be your starting tools kid, and I challenge you to create these normal blacksmith tools into advanced versions. Of course, you need to do this after you are assessed by your abilities but hey, you can start already. You can read this book if you want to learn the basics thoroughly."
She passed down a small bag and book to me and the items I received popped up in my interface.
-[Blacksmith's Hammer] obtained.
-[Tongs] obtained.
-[Starter Molds] obtained.
-[Blacksmithing Beginner's Guide Book] obtained.
"I won't be giving every tool needed. If you wanted to get more tools, feel free to buy in other stores or in my store. It doesn't matter to me. What matters is the work of the person, not the materials and tools used, as long as it can make the things done without much problem then its fine. Anyways, you can go back to where you wanted to go, I won't be teaching today because I am exhausted, come back in here tomorrow alright?"
"Thank you very much!"
I left Almira to rest after that and looked at the new message that popped up in my interface.
[Congratulations, your Ex Job: Blacksmith is now activated. You can now create metal works and other things involving blacksmithing. Making things related to blacksmithing will raise your level of expertise in this job. The higher your level is, the more things you can make. Creating your own customized equipment is now in your hands! Create and build wonderful things!]
Finally, it is time to create weapons to feed to my Versatile Weapon. And once I reached my old level before in the alternate timeline, I will try to create my own armor made from the Adamantite. I can't wait for that day to come.

QQQQ
Have you ever noticed that the letter Q is unnecessary? It doesn't provide any function to the language. Any word spelled with it could just as easily be spelled with other letters. Does that mean it shouldn't exist? Of course not. In this universe, everything has a place. Cosmic balance, Karma, God's plan, the laws of physics—they're all trying to describe the same thing. There is nothing that exists without purpose, and nothing without purpose that can exist. You can take solace in knowing that, just like the useless letter Q, you have birthright to exist in this world. Nothing can take that from you. Unless a creator God breeds technicolor angel-beasts hellbent on ripping you out of reality, of course. When Mina learns that she was a cosmic accident—a being accidentally created without purpose—what was once an easygoing life starts to entwine with conspiracies, impossible occurrences, and deadly occult mysteries. Not to mention friends so dangerous and unpredictable they make the cosmic horrors look normal by comparison. When the questions never stop piling up, it's hard to know where to begin. But I'll give you a hint: they all begin with a Q.

Contact First
2039 - Earth A narrow beam energy signal appeared aimed squarely at earth from the TRAPPIST system. The communication consisted of a layered set of repeating data over several thousand wavelengths. Over the next few months scientists discovered that the lower wavelengths carried an encoded numerical language which could then be used to interpret the more complicated messages carried on the higher wavelengths. After half a year of painstaking work the signal was fully decoded. It described a small satellite launched along a precise trajectory towards the fourth planet of our solar system. Included was a package of advanced research that humanity would need to have ready in order to receive the satellite and decelerate it safely. The alien data provided the kick that humanity needed to turn from petty squabbling and unite to explore the final frontier. Major government and corporate leaders worked together to create the framework for the United Federation of Sol. UFS spaceports went from scaffolding to daily launches in every major city around the globe. Ships floated like dandelion seeds, spreading on solar wind to grow into colonies. 2397 - Mars orbit, Egeria Station The command center was a hive of activity as checks were conducted and systems initialized. Scientists flitted by like mayflies as communicators beeped and holoscreens spat out green tinted readouts. Nervous energy was thick in the air as everyone anticipated the culmination of over three hundred years of work. Massive fusion reactors under the planet's surface thrummed with barely restrained power as energy fed into a gleaming metallic maze criss crossing the planet. Metal fingers reached up, overshadowing the mighty olympus mons and trying to grab the stars. All over the solar system, people quickly turned to look as gigantic energy lances shot from the dusty fourth planet. Two years later. The same people that clapped loudly at the successful activation of project Hermes now wait with baited breath. A silver capsule trailing bright photonic sails is captured by a net of grav beams and guided with care bordering on reverence into the station. Holoscreens across the headquarters project an image of the sleek craft settling in the bay. Data connections are established and the holoscreens blink to white. Slowly an image forms on the screen. Across the headquarters people stare in wonder as a wholly alien face stares back. "Contact established. Welcome to the universe."

Crimson Gloom
Crimson Gloom. The time when the moon turns crimson, illuminating the landscape with its crimson glow. The time when the ‘doors’ to the Crimson Abyss open. One shall gaze into the abyss and gain its secrets and powers. Concurrently, the abyss also gazes into oneself, gaining one’s sanity and humanity. Dimensional rifts appeared spontaneously on Earth, bringing otherworldly demons along with the Crimson Gloom. Bloody battles were fought, noble sacrifices were made. Humans eventually sealed the rifts and successfully defended their homeworld. Alas, the seals were not perfect. The Crimson Abyss continued to exist, slowly influencing Earth and its inhabitants. Half a century of relatively uneventful years passed… humanity slowly descended into corruption, and the majority of them knew nothing of the effects of the Crimson Abyss. Is there only the dreadful gloom left to the world? Can one find brightness in the increasingly gloomy world? The youth who had gazed into the Crimson Abyss had no answer, nor did he care. He only wanted the Crimson Gloom to end, to forever seal the Crimson Abyss. A mistake and a twist of fate led the youth into a seemingly totally different direction. Will he forget his lifelong goal? Will he instead step back onto his initial path that he fervently pursued? Disclaimer: I do not own the image on the cover. Image edited on canva.com.
