Tamer Of Cosmic Beasts Chapter 22

Everyone present at the scene was in awe, they were wondering what kind of evolution was this. Every beastperson started to think, maybe I could do this as well.
Daan Godlyn looked at Runa and then turned his head towards Duglu.
"Can you see that? Even if I lost this battle, I have already won the war.
You can not oppress us anymore, pay for your sins now!"
Duglu calmly looked at the scene and laughed in mockery.
"Haha, this is not news to me. I had also seen this when I was little. They were struggling just like you are now until their leaders were killed by my father and grandfather.
They lost their spirits once we beheaded their king and his offsprings in front of them.
If my memory serves me correctly, his name was..."
Duglu looked at Daan, grinning ear to ear, showing his yellow-orange teeth, dipped in blood, and continued.
"Badmushk Godlyn."
Daan's pupils contracted as he heard this name, he murmured in a low voice.
"Father..."
Duglu burst into laughter.
"Hahaha, so that old fool was your father? Like father like son.
I guess history is repeating itself, be prepared to meet your maker. As a gift, I will remember your name as well, Daan Godlyn."
"Get out of my way!"
A shrilling scream came from the field where the orcs and the beastfolk were fighting.
A figure with 4 legs was moving towards Duglu Langmachi at incredible speed with unbelievable agility, cutting and dodging through the crowd of orcs.
It was Runa.
She broke through the orcs, spraying a trail of blood behind her, and stood near the two kings' battlefield. She stared at Duglu with her dilated pupils.
~HIIIISSS~
She hissed in anger, with her four limbs planted on the ground, tail erect with hairs raised as she kept making threatening hissing sounds, an inborn intimidation technique of cats.
Her eyes were fixed on the Orc King just like a drawn arrow aimed at its target, just waiting to be loosed and pierce. She was stalking towards him slowly, not a single sound of her steps caught the ears of the audience, her hairs stood as she readied herself to attack Duglu.
Silently, she pounced on Duglu. Her speed was twice that of Daan's, but her strength was many times weaker. She reached Duglu in an instant.
Duglu was standing calmly without making a sound, grinning at Runa without moving an inch. She cried as she thrust her little curved claws at Duglu's eyes.
The claws stopped a few inches away from the Orc King's eyes.
Runa gritted her teeth and asked.
"Why didn't you move? Are you disrespecting me?"
Duglu leaned forward using his grip on the hammer and replied.
"I disrespect those who have a chance at earning my respect."

Duglu looked at Daan with a side-eye.
"Only one person in your beast tribe has earned that honour."
Duglu turned back his eyes on Runa.
"As for you, you have not earned my attention much less disrespect.
As for your first question for why I didn't move, it's because of two reasons.
First, you are not a threat to me and secondly, there is a judge here as well who will not let anyone meddle in our fight.
Isn't that right?"
Duglu tilted his head towards his left while Runa moved her head to her right.
Between them, was standing a handsome man, holding Runa by her elbow with his left hand. It was none other than Akash Tagar.
"Please, let me go!"
Runa cried.
Akash looked at her.
"Don't disturb this battle, you can go and kill all the orcs there, however, do not interfere with this battle until it's over."
Duglu twitched his brows.
Runa tried her best to get out of Akash's grip but she wasn't aware of the fact that even thousands of her could not budge Akash off. She stopped her useless struggle and sobbed.
"He will... die, please let me help him."
Akash looked at Daan.
"It's his battle, not yours. If he wins, he will not be the king of only the beastfolk, but this entire planet, including the orcs, let him prove himself in front of everyone. You don't even know the importance of this battle, do you how much is at stake here? If you are dying to fight the Orc King, then wait until he finishes off Daan, then you can challenge him and take your revenge."
An explosion occurred and dust erupted from one side of the beastfolk, everyone turned their heads in that direction. From the dust, two objects were thrown into the sky and fell near Akash Tagar and the others on the main field.
When they looked closely, they were not two objects but rather one orc torn into two by nothing but brute strength.
~MOOOOONHH~
A loud grunting voice was heard from there. A giant figure with big, thick, pointy horns came outside. Its skin was greyish black but covered by midnight black hair, this monster stretched its arm and grabbed an orc by its skull.
"Die, you miserable piece of shit!"
He exerted pressure and the skull crumbled, brain matter scattered all over the place.
Another female orc came forward and hit that monster's back with a cudgel. He grunted in pain, grabbed the orc's cudgel, and kicked her in her chest.
The orc was sent flying, she coughed blood as she landed on the ground with an explosive cracking sound. Her back and chest bones broke as she took her last breath and died.

That monster was a minotaur, he looked at the field where the kings were fighting and said.
"Uncle Daan, Runa, it's me, Sohrab. I have awakened to my bestial instincts as well."
Runa's eyes widened as she remembered how Sohrab was just a weak 1.6 meters-tall minotaur with small horns and a feminine voice.
Yet the current Sohrab was 3 meters-tall and had a wide body with a grunting voice.
"Sohrab..."
Akash shook Runa's elbow a little and she came back to her senses. He freed her from his grip and spoke.
"It's not just a fight between Daan and Orc King, this will determine future of the beastpeople. I came here because Daan asked me to help.
So let me do my work and if you interfere again, I will not be as forgiving as I am now."
Daan, who was recovering, removed his hands from his knees and stood tall, as his wobbly legs stopped shaking.
"It's my fight Runa, as the tribe leader, I order all of beastpeople to not interfere in this fight and if I die here, then follow our saviour who has already helped us in unlocking our hidden potential"
Duglu didn't hear anything from Daan. All his attention was on Sohrab, a new possible threat. He wouldn't be afraid of him on normally but now he was exhausted and injured.
Daan saw this opportunity and ran towards Duglu who retaliated by swinging his hammer, unleashing great gusts of wind.
Daan ducked down, dodging the hammer, and slashed the Orc King's chest with his sharp claws. Exposing the flesh on Duglu's chest. He felt like someone had given him 4 deep cuts with a sword, but it was the result of Daan's bared claws.
Duglu cried out in pain and moved back a few steps. He touched his chest and moaned, following which he spit on his hand and balmed it on his wounds.
Daan attacked again with his claws, however, Duglu blocked him with his hammer yet Daan continued as he swung widely, Duglu dodged it by ducking down again and tackled the Lion King with his shoulder.
Daan wobbled backwards but didn't fall. Duglu ran enduring the pain of his injured leg and kicked Daan, flinging him away and until he dropped on the floor. Duglu caught up, raised his hammer high and slammed it down on Daan's head.
Daan rolled to his side and escaped the hammer by a hair's breadth while the hammer dug a hole in the ground. Duglu pulled it back and swung it at Daan again and again but Daan kept moving backwards to avoid the impact. Until his back hit the wall as there was a house behind him. Duglu grinned as his plan to drive Dann into this deadlock worked.
The Orc King tried swung his giant hammer with all his might, however, his injured leg gave out as blood poured from it.
The hammer's trajectory changed and Daan took advantage of this, and bowed a little, evading the blow as it passed over his head and hit the house behind him, smashing it into pieces.
Daan saw this golden opportunity and charged. Duglu dropped the hammer and picked the bricks from the rubble and threw it towards Daan.
Daan protected his head by raising his arms, blinding his sight as well.
Daan opened his arms a bit to see Duglu and saw that the orc was picking the hammer up again.
"Not this time."
Daan yelled and leaped at Duglu... and that was exactly what the Orc King wanted as he dropped the hammer and threw a brick with all his power.
It was too late to defend or evade now.
~BANG~
The brick landed on the face of Daan and he fell.
Duglu stood beside Daan, both were panting loudly.
"You don't know how to fight, yet you gave me this much trouble. I can't let you live but, as a token of my appreciation. I will tell you something before I kill you."
Duglu raised the hammer in the air and said.
"Your people were not entirely killed, we imprisoned half of them, and they are still alive. Including one of your siblings."
Daan, who was losing his consciousness suddenly got a surge of energy.
"They are alive? My... my sibling is alive?"
Duglu sent the hammer down.
"I will not die!"
Daan yelled in the process of standing up and parried the hammer with his left hand, causing its bones to shatter into pieces. Yet he didn't let that distract him as he extended the claws on his right hand and swiped them at Duglu's face. His natural daggers slashed the eyes of Duglu. He dropped his hammer with a painful cry and started swinging his arm wildy.
"You crafty animal, I will ki..."
Daan Godlyn bit Duglu's neck with his fangs as he pierced Duglu deep in his throat, and with all his strength, he pulled out Duglu's hyoid Bone.
Duglu fell as he started to bleed and coughed to death.
~THOOO~
Daan spat the hyoid bone and commented.
"You taste as disgusting as you look."
The beastfolk cried in joy while the orcs fell on their knees, lost at what to do without their leader.
Every whisper stopped when they heard a loud voice.
"DAAN GODLYN IS THE NEW KING OF THIS PLANET!"
Akash Tagar declared the result of this bloody fight.
Daan looked at Akash and smiled before collapsing on the ground.

I'm also using this story to better develop lore that extends far beyond it. ] Thanks to another exceptionally talented artist, Hiroeth, Blightbane now has an official cover! Vera was alone again. “You’re completely unprepared. Never before has sending one of you off made me feel quite so guilty.” Whenever she found herself in doubt, she would weigh her actions against the guiding principles of the one whom she revered. “When you don’t know the rules of the game, start making them up. When you are constrained by unfavorable conditions, inject a little chaos.” It was the supplementary message that concerned Vera the most. It was difficult to follow because it was intentionally vague and mired in subjectivity. “How can I enjoy myself when you look so tormented? Are we in danger?” Vera fell silent. An experiment is taking place on a planetary scale. Across the surface of the planet, a phenomenon referred to as "Blight" is spreading. Festering regions defended by fierce creatures called “blightbeasts” taint the surface, warping the land and proliferating unceasingly. Among the sentient creatures of the planet, it is the Blightbane Guild’s responsibility to stem the tide. They endeavor to cleanse the land in a struggle of attrition, but they are losing ground.
