Magical Academy: Rise Of The Supreme Magic Craftsman Chapter 387

The Khrusams with their Corpse Furnace appeared without any panic or worry on their faces.
The Furnace allows them to harness the so-called Death Energy that is still a mysterious thing to humans.
Even Wallace and Avalon were unsure of the method on how to deal with such weird power.
Nevertheless, if he thinks of it as another form of corrupted mana, then he knows that he shouldn't be afraid of it. After all, it's impossible that their furnace would have unlimited energy and it should be exhausted after being used for some time.
'Did they just sent out all of their Khrusams? Then it means that they're taking this attack seriously... I can't let this opportunity pass...' Wallace thought as he waited for them to try and stop the islands that he dropped.
There are four alien landing sites so Wallace divided his Floating Islands accordingly…
He arranged four of them in each site and he expected that even if the enemies are the strongest mutated humans, they would still have trouble dealing with it. They might even sacrifice their spaceships and escape from the disaster.
Unfortunately, these gold-skinned race have appeared and there's about 90 of them in each site.
As for their Corpse Furnace, there were 5 Khrusams in each of them so Wallace can see 18 Furnace accumulating power to stop the islands.
"Isn't this a bit too strong?"
Wallace muttered after seeing that the Corpse Furnace appears to be inviting a thunderstorm… Dark clouds accumulated above as the region suddenly darkened…
'Death Energy, huh… How mysterious…'
As he was observing the phenomena, he heard the Khrusams say something as they released energy from their furnace... They were inaudible so even Avalon was unable to translate what they are saying.
The energy from each furnace gathered together in a single pillar of dark light…
Boom!
The Floating Island, which was also covered by multiple Defensive Arrays, was hit by the dark light.
Wallace then saw that nothing happened on the floating island…
'Did they actually fail?' He thought.
He can see that the barrier was destroyed but nothing happened on the land itself…
'It shouldn't be… My Array shouldn't be this strong. Perhaps…' As he was guessing about the Death Energy's effect, he heard a familiar sound… It is sparks of lightning and it's coming from the floating islands!

Bzzt! Bzzt! Boom!
Huge snakes made black lightning shortly appeared and slithered around the islands a few times before they exploded!
The explosion of the snakes was followed by the island's explosion mid-air…
"Tsk… They triggered the explosion. Good move, Khrusams…"
Wallace uttered as he clenched his fist.
He realized that his plan to create larger damage backfired. He didn't realize that they somehow had an ability to tap on the accumulating energy inside the islands before they get into a perfect range…
However, this doesn't mean that they would leave unscathed by triggering this…
Wallace then watched the Khrusams create a huge shield made of the Death Energy as the pieces of the broken island started raining down on them.
Though it's easier to defend now that they've destroyed the island, its remnants can still be very dangerous. After all, the explosion that occurred just now added some power behind the rocks that are falling on their site.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
The rain of falling rocks and debris from the island continued for a long while.
The young man couldn't help but smirk for a bit after realizing that his guess was right… The Furnace's Death Energy is indeed slowly thinning as the Khrusams did their best to defend against the rocks and huge chunks of the remaining land...
'I guess they'll need a lot of corpses to refill that energy… They'll most likely try to hunt for sacrifices…'
Wallace thought as he decided to warn all the magicians on each site.
He knows that the alien race uses death energy from the corpses though he's unaware of how it works… Since they needed the corpses, they either have to find one or create one…
It means that they'll be on the offensive in a while… They have to be aware of it and not think that they'll just silently try to recover after being attacked.
***
Boom!
The last debris that came from the explosion of the floating islands dropped… The curtain or shield made of the Khrusam's Death Energy can finally take a rest.
However, if one looked at it closely, the cover that they created had a lot of holes as they were unable to bear all the pieces of land and rocks that came on their way.
At the very least, they managed to lessen the damage that the spaceships should've received.

Wallace then saw that the spaceships were not unscathed by his attacks…
"Hoho… They surely have a higher quality. Well done."
Wallace said referring to the rocks that came from the island. He can still recall how the Grade 3, Grade 4, and Grade 5 spells thrown by the army of Seiji Alliance barely scratched these spaceships.
Seeing the messed-up armors of the spaceships and the exhausted members of the Khrusam Race, he realized that those stones from the Northern Continent were even more powerful than those Grade 5 Spells!
Perhaps it was due to the triggered explosion or because of the quality of the island itself. It must be remembered that they are still formed due to a Mana Calamity…
Wallace then made a glance at Avalon's report about the other sites…
The one in Montego was not as successful due to the existence of that Cube of Paradox together with the help of the Khrusam Race's Corpse Furnace…
The Black Sovereign was almost unscathed from the surprise attack. Luckily, a few Corpse Furnace didn't seem to have enough Death Energy within, so they lacked the strength to support the part that they have to protect.
In the end, a part of their Death Energy Curtain collapsed allowing a few pieces of debris to get into the Black Sovereign's external armor…
Then, he looked at the ones in Zairus. There are ten spaceships in the Stella Region, there will be a lot of trouble later on if they failed to suppress them.
Luckily, three of the Invader Spaceships were actually heavily damaged!
Because of the range being taken by the ten spaceships, the Khrusams were unable to cover all the spaceships with similar tenacity. Due to this, some of the Invader Spaceships can only try to protect themselves with their own armor technology aside from their missiles and turrets.
The result wasn't good but considering the dire situations, it is lucky that they didn't suffer anything more than that.
'Not bad… Charles and the others should give them some trouble.'
Wallace thought as he looked at the last report where the Imperial Flagship is included…
Aside from exhausting the Khrusam's Death Energy, two members of the Terub Legion had actually appeared to ensure that no spaceships would be damaged by the surprise attack.
'Hmm… That should be enough…'
The young man mused as he felt satisfied with this result. It confirms that only the Imperial Flagship at Guwain has members of the Terub Legion…
It means that there shouldn't be any members of the Imperial Family in other spaceships aside from that place.
"Avalon… Assist all the sites to the best of your ability. This is a good chance for us to attack… The Khrusams would no longer be able to help…"
[ Affirmative. ]
The A.I. answered as it dutifully worked together with the other sites through various means like using automatons, guiding the magicians through their Mech Knights, and even providing support within their airships.
Then, just like what they expected, the spaceships started mobilizing their Mech Knights and Marauder Gears!
They are most likely planning to hunt natives to be used in their Corpse Furnace!
After all, if they used their spaceship's missiles, turrets, or cannons, their targets would be completely obliterated and they would not be able to find a corpse to charge their furnace… That's is obviously not what the Khrusams wanted to supply their Corpse Furnace…
Aeon Guardian!
Wallace activated his ability as a quarter of his mana reserves were suddenly consumed in just a few seconds.
Then, similar to the first time he used it, a huge magic formation appeared in front of him… The formation was about 5-meter wide as it slowly turned into objects… The formation became a mechanical gear or cogs of varying sizes turning like clockwork.
Finally, a giant metallic snake emerged from it and coiled around his body before bursting into countless particles of light.
But this is not yet over… He held his Fervor Timepiece on his other hand and activated another ability…
Dual Burst!
This is the combination of Brain Burst and Physical Burst from the mystical item he got from the Pathfinder.
Wallace then looked at the hundreds of Mech Frames surging out as he made his move…
'Let me take you on…'
The young man had an idea as he disappeared from his previous location.
Meanwhile, the Terror Mages not too far from here also wanted to help the young man.
However, they've felt the power released by this man so they quickly held themselves from asking more questions. Instead, they decided to get a little closer to see what he was about to do.
