Magical Academy: Rise Of The Supreme Magic Craftsman Chapter 174

Wallace still has his previous body inside his dimensional storage space. The body wasn't decomposing at all like a lifeless puppet instead of a human. It seems that the body wasn't capable of utilizing mana at all and even feels like it's being avoided by the natural mana like it's a poison.
After hearing about the Flowing Spirit, he had a hunch that it was something valuable to him and had quickly asked for Avalon to check the background of this Secret Arts. Anyway, Sylvia hasn't given them a significant explanation about its importance.
Luckily, although there is no information about its origin or any leak of its content, a practitioner who had a 69% copy of the manual stated how valuable this technique was.
Wallace doesn't have time to celebrate his acquisition of the item as the auction continued.
The 22nd item that was sold for 39.3 million was a set of medicine created by a known Mage Doctor. The miraculous medicine was capable of improving the physique of a magician in exchange for a painful experience that would last for an hour. The set was capable of improving 10 magicians.
'Body Strengthening Potion, huh. Just like what I thought, it seems that the rewards being provided by the Pathfinder isn't something impossible to this world.'
Wallace had already realized this before and it only strengthens his belief after hearing Sylvia introduce the item. His rewards like the Necklace of Clarity, Body Strengthening, Mana Affinity improvements, a recipe of a Berserk Potion, Divine Sense, and others, wasn't unique to him. This world is also capable of producing them but it seems that what he acquires in the Pathfinder can be a bit better at the very least, as long as he accomplished his mission.
"This is the legal documents for the Hairon Mountain and it's surrounding area. This is owned by the Shaw Clan but due to their recent difficulties, the place hasn't been put to good use and now being sold to acquire a better asset. The mountain was filled with Nama trees and is an underdeveloped area of the region. There are only a few resting areas in the place. There are also quite a few Mana Beasts that were living in this area. There's a lot more you can find in this place if you will check the place. Here are some photos of the Hairon Mountain." Sylvia said as the wall behind him changed into a huge projector where the place being auctioned was clearly shown. The beautiful trees, clean river, animals, and Mana Beast were being shown. Of course, they surely didn't place any images that would decrease the value of the area.

They only hinted that the place is underdeveloped which could mean a lot to them.
"The base price is 350 million! There is no buyout price for this one."
This 25th item was probably the most expensive item to be sold. This is what everyone thought after hearing Sylvia's introduction for this 25th item.
Many of the participants in this auction had come for this. Owning land in this prospering country is a big deal. Some of the new and prospering companies or organization possess a lot of money but does not own land. They normally rent or acquire a lease from their favored land to conduct businesses.
Even Wallace was tempted at this. He was planning to have his own hangar and even have his own Rank Driver.
Within the two days prior to this auction, Wallace and the Avalon completed their study about the Skywalker's Project in outer space exploration, the Flyby Space Mission. They made their own calculations and theories as they decided to have an electromagnetic catapult instead of using a rocket system for their space launch.
The Rank Driver is a design or a method of a non-rocket space launch that would use a linear motor to accelerate and catapult payloads up to high speeds. This is a bit more challenging but they believed that this is more appropriate considering the uniqueness of the stratosphere.
This way, he'll be able to save more power to use in breaking through the protective layer of this Earth. Anyway, this will only be possible once they started to multiply the number of automatons he has in his ranks.
Wallace wasn't creating a lot of automaton at the moment since he was waiting for something that would improve his ability in crafting automatons. That's right, he felt that his automaton wasn't good enough and felt that it was too wasteful to mass-produce his current Elysiums. He only has limited money and resources at the moment so he decided that it would be more appropriate if he'll use them in the best conditions.
Sigh~
'Too bad, this is still too expensive for me.' Wallace was referring to the mountain being auctioned. If ever he had acquired this place, he'll surely advance his plans and create some more laborer automatons.
In the end, the land was actually purchased by Lacus Minerva.

"My senior apprentice is surely rich, huh." Wallace muttered after seeing that the place was auctioned for an amount of 498.4 million credits. It is equivalent in purchasing a dozen top-class Grade A Mana Artifacts.
Although the place doesn't look so important due to it not having any unique traits like a valuable mine, precious trees, a breed of a special mana beast living in the mountain, or any archeological value, it's position was still quite valuable. The mountain and its area being auctioned off was located near the border of Zairus and Maja. It may be underdeveloped at the moment, but an ambitious owner can probably make this place a major trading hub if given enough capital.
It wasn't an exaggeration as Zairus is a landlocked country. It doesn't have a coastline or seaport. Any Zairusian who wanted to travel and see the ocean and not the lakes of the country, would have to travel to Maja to experience them. Not only that, but the area was also quite near to the Cursed Forest where many adventurers seeking treasures come to.
'Having tons of money seems to be so good, huh.'
"Avalon, can you rob a bank using it's system?"
Wallace wasn't serious when he asked this to his A.I. softly.
[ Negative. A special method unlike standard electronics was used to store information about the customers. Unable to comprehend this design. ]
Wallace now remembered how they tried to analyze the silver card that was given to him as an apprentice. They couldn't identify or breakthrough it's defense at all. It seems that the card wasn't simple in the slightest. It may even be made by an Arcanist through an Arcana.
Anyway, the auction continued but after the 30th item, 900-year-old root herb was sold for a few million, a break was called out.
There will still be 10 more publicly announced items and 10 surprise items to be sold.
The break wasn't that long but it's enough for them to analyze the trend of the items being auctioned. They had also recognized some of the prominent buyers and some of the representative's purchasing limits. This can be used to their advantage during the bidding war.
Wallace even checked the Secret Arts: Flowing Spirit he won in the auction.
The time quickly passed as the 31st item, Maser Vibration Dagger, was sold for 60 million credits. This weapon was approaching the standard of a top-class high-tech weapon even in outer space. It was even rumored that it was found in the northern continent but no one can prove it. The only information they can use to tell that it came from the north was because none of the southern countries were capable of reproducing one.
Some other items had also caught Wallace's interest like the 35th item, Myriad Phantom Iron Suit, which was sold for 48 million credits seems to be a weaker version of his Amplified Assault Armor.
There's also uninteresting items like the 39th item, it was a bow with its empty quiver. Sylvia explained how it became very valuable as she mentioned who was the previous owner and it seems to be a popular female Celebrity Idol about a decade ago.
The last item before the 10 secret items will be auctioned off was another treasure map. It is said to lead them in a location where a specific Lost Technology can be found. Some of the adventurous participants tried to take a chance as the item reached an amount of 13 million credit from the base price of 3 million.
Soon, the 41st item or first out of ten secret items to be sold was revealed to everyone.
"These are genuine Lamat Stones! Twelve pieces of them to be sold at once. This is a very rare item that can normally be used for Magic Jammer Structure but can also be used in other forms of magic now. The base price is 15 million credit and the buyout price is only 120 million credits." Sylvia smiled as she introduced the 41st item. This shocked many of the unaware participants as they believed that this stone should be a national level treasure and be controlled by the government instead.

Shadowrun: Blake Island School of Magic
It's a high tech, low life. It's the Seattle Metroplex in 2074. It rises like a steel and concrete cancer out of the earth. Poverty is rampant, corruption is everywhere, crime is out of control, corporations basically control everything, the old United States is fractured, magic has come back and now it turns out that humanity has been joined by elves, dwarves, orks and trolls. The old world ended but the rent is still due. Life goes on. You'd be surprised what people can adapt to, especially if they don't have a choice. One of the places where life goes on is just west of Seattle. Surrounded by the waters of the Puget Sound is an island. On that island is the Blake Island School of Magic. A decade ago it was known for producing some of the most talented awakened in the world. That reputation was hijacked by the wealthy corporate elite who now park their teenage children there. And since it's a boarding school, their parents mostly forget about them. Three young people, who are certainly not wealthy or elite, are chosen this year to attend this school of magic in hopes of revitalizing their reputation for talent. One from the ash drifts of the Puyallup Barrens, one from the most densely populated slum hive in the world and one from prison. This is their story. -- This story is set in the Shadowrun universe. If you're not familiar with Shadowrun, it mostly tells the stories of deniable mercenaries called shadowrunners in a cyberpunk dystopia. Instead of telling another story solely about shadowrunners, this story will tell the tale of young people navigating a world that is indifferent to them at best and actively hostile at worst. Shadowrunners will be in the story and we'll see them operate, but they won't be its main focus. This story originally began in 2017 as a passion project and continues to this day on the Somethingawful.com forums. The unedited version is over a million words strong. There are currently seven books in this series and I am currently in the process of editing them.
