Magical Academy: Rise Of The Supreme Magic Craftsman Chapter 50

The Frost Field that Violet has activated only covered 4 meters of frost around her. Beyond that range, there were snowflakes floating around that will alarm her if there's anyone who approached them.
"Hmph! Your surprise attack won't work with this. Ivan, ready your spell. We'll target anyone that would first show up."
The second part was said in a lower voice to remind Ivan of their plan.
Ivan nodded in agreement as he cast a magic spell but did not release it yet. He readied himself to throw the magic spell once Lillian or Axel showed up.
He positioned himself in front of Violet to protect her from the frontal assault but about 10 seconds had passed and no attack came, Violet decided to approach Ivan and stood back to back to cover all sides.
Almost a minute has passed and still no alarm was set off or no human movement was detected by the snowflakes scattered.
Base on the rules of the competition the battle could only last for 15 minutes. If there are no winners at that given time, the battle will be considered a draw.
"I doubt that they want to have a draw here. I couldn't think of any reason."
Violet was pissed off by their opponent's strategy.
"Tsk, if those mana technicians just placed some other detection spell or magic spell that could remove this annoying fog..."
"Stop! Don't lose your focus."
Violet said as she stopped Ivan for further commenting about their mana artifact.
"But you started it..." Ivan said in a low tone.
"On my left!" Violet informed her partner after detecting the movement returned by the snowflakes she summoned.
"Take this!"
A fireball was thrown by Ivan in the direction pointed by Violet.
"Diversion! Put up your defense!"
After Violet noticed that the movement she detected was fake, a fireball was already thrown by her partner and multiple movement was also detected

"How are you doing this?! A movement in all directions?"
Ivan frowned after hearing this. He realized that Violet is detecting multiple human movements. Their opponent seems to be well prepared and they couldn't even use their own planned strategy.
"Tsk! There's no more choice, I'll use a wide range magic skill that I'm saving. But this will exhaust my mana pool so try to use the opportunity."
He did not wait for Violet's answer as he cast a spell. She understood the plan and canceled the Frost Field protecting both of them as soon as Ivan was ready to release another offensive spell.
"Prime -- Stone Blades!"
Dozens of black swords made of stone conjured around the two. The swords thrust around them and even circled a few times covering the whole stage before disappearing.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Sounds of the collision was heard before the swords disappeared. Probably due to interruption of the attack, the Blinding Fog was canceled and the two students from Leonhearts were revealed. But even that was the case, the two were prepared and has a readied skill.
""Archon -- Rock Smash""
The two had actually activated the same magic spell. This spell was actually the only Grade 2 Archon Magic Spell they could cast using their own magic comprehension.
Rock Smash is actually just a magic spell that would summon a huge levitating rock. The most difficult part of this was that during the conjuring process, the rock would stay invisible and just formless mana hovering about.
As soon as they finished casting the spell and confirmed the position of the enemy, the huge rock appeared in the top of their enemy giving a huge shadow, Violet and Ivan looked at descending rock on top of their heads. Violet might still escape but Ivan hadn't recovered yet on his recently cast spell.

Unfortunately, Violet decided to immediately grab Ivan and dodge the rock and she had miscalculated the speed of its descent. She even felt her that her movement was a little bit delayed.
"Hehe. Did you think that Blinding Fog would only affect the surroundings and restrict your vision?"
Lillian said in contempt to her opponents. It seems there are another side effect in using Blinding Fog.
Axel only shook his head as both of them were also affected by the side effects of Blinding Fog. This only happens whenever they stayed a prolonged time inside the fog. But it is nonlethal and only affects the movements temporarily.
The rock descended and smashed to both student of Honeysuckle, Violet poured all her mana to strengthen her mana shell and to resist its destruction. But as soon as it cracked and about to be destroyed, the referee made their move as the second her mana shell was destroyed, the rock disperse into a tiny specks of light as there has never been a huge rock summoned a while ago.
Another victory for the Leonhearts Academy scoring 2-0 against their opponent.
It was now the third match. Normally the one positioned here would be a strong and trusted one to win a battle. The third match must be won especially if the first two battles were lost, so the magician placed here should be someone that could handle huge pressure.
Of course, it's different for the winning side as they could still somehow relax and not be affected by pressure which would also result in not making many mistakes as the fighter could think clearly.
"Leonheart's Hilda vs Honeysuckle's Jason"
Jason wore a serious expression on his face as his match could decide the end of the battle between the two academies.
'I must win the fight. Just be calm, there shouldn't be any more mana artifact that could summon that fog. Ohh? Look at that, just a small girl. I can do this.'
Jason said in his thought and as he noticed the opponent he will be fighting on, he felt happy as Hilda looked so weak and can be blown away by a wind breeze. He smirks at the thought but told himself to not let his guard down. Anyone who could participate here has an ability on their own.
Hilda stood on the stage calmly as her black hair swayed with the wind. She has pale skin, blue eyes and her pink hair-band was eye-catching for everyone.
As the two were readied for the battle. The referee started to announce the start of battle together with a whistle.
Jason and Hilda activated the Mana Shell as required as soon as they heard the signal.
Jason hastily cast three spells.
"Wind Enchant -- Haste"
"Prime -- Gauntlet of Flame"
"Prime -- Flame Arrows!"
He was ready to get close to Hilda as he summoned Flame Arrows to distract and approach her with his activated Haste. He was confident that just one hit using his Gauntlet of Flame on his left hand could destroy Hilda's Mana Shell.
Hilda was holding the Scourge Staff made by Escanor. She used her left hand to hold the other end of the staff and stomped it at the ground.
Thud!!
As soon as the staff hit the ground, Jason's Mana Shell shattered.
"Traceless Oscillation"
Hilda said softly as she activated the skill at the same time that the staff hit the ground.
