Xie Eun woke up lazily. Sitting up in bed, she rubbed her eyes and stretched her hands. This was the most decadent holiday she had ever had! Even when she went with her father a few times as a young girl, they would have days packed with physical activities and some junior soldier taking her sight seeing, but here it was just decadently lazing about! It was a wonder that they were not bored but she realized that this was the best way to get to know each other. They did not have to fill their time together with useless chatter. It was enough to just together and read or watch television. Unexpectedly, Yu Seok had even kept some board games and she had been consistently winning in Monopoly! Amazing that she would win such a game. She was pretty sure that he was losing on purpose!.. She turned her head and then suddenly did a double take! Outside the world had changed. A light blanket of white snow covered the scenery which until yesterday had been green. Her eyes widened in excitement like a little child who had just discovered that Christmas arrived early. She had never been in snow! Without caring about wearing her protective gear, she raced out into the snow. And then went back in! The temperature outside was freezing! A single blast of that frigid air had left her shivering. Just then she spotted Yu Seok coming out of the kitchen. He picked up a thick jacket, helped her into it. Next was the scarf, which was tied around her neck and then a hat was put on her head !After putting the protective gear on her with a serious face ,he smiled, "I knew you would not be able to wait! The weather here is very unpredictable! So don't stay out for long! And wear those boots unless you want to get frost bite."

Xie Eun glanced at the ugly looking snow boots but happily donned them before rushing out again. However a minute later she was back into the house.. She needed to grab her camera!

Outside, she first breathed in deeply, loving the new transformed look of this place.

She brought the camera to her eyes, gazing at the bold and bright light that fell softly onto the pure white sea of snow. The scene was untouched and untrampled by human or animal, just another wonder of nature. Little shrubs looked like white soft creatures under the blanket of snow. She clicked successive shots without pausing for a breath. This blue sky and the white snow with colors of green and grey mixed in, demanded it's moment. So many shapes and textures to play with. Her eyes shined and the smile never left her lips. Her breath drew in like cold shards of glass and expelled in frigid clouds as she framed the winter beauty in her camera. This is what she always wanted to capture. This nature that was beautiful beyond imagination.

And the grand and gorgeous house rose out of the sea, an elegant and graceful island. The house too caught her attention. It had looked beautiful against the greenery but now it looked majestic. It was now a part of their memories. The first of many they would have in the future. She would not miss the chance to photograph it. She worked her way to it, experimenting with angles, using the light to A movement caught her eye, and as she turned to follow it she saw her husband moving about in the kitchen. She zoomed in, instead of going closer and clicked a few more shots as he worked inside house.

But then she turned back. She would lose herself in clicking his pictures soon. She walked a little further away, her camera glued to her eyes as she clicked the tall trees and the small rocks hidden under the snow. She had no idea of the time that passed, until a pair of strong arms suddenly came around her, making her shriek and almost drop her camera.

She turned back and glared at her grinning husband who had given her a fright. She pouted at him and complained, "You broke my concentration!"

Not feeling the least bit guilty, he coaxed her," I don't want my wife to freeze! Come, eat something and then we will go and explore further."

At this moment, Xie Eun realized that she had been outside for more than an hour. And she was so hungry. Seeing her scrunched up face, Yu Seok took the camera from her hand and clicked a series of her pictures.

She frowned at him and complained," Don't! I look ugly!"

Yu Seok brought the camera down and smiled, No, you don't. You look cute, as always!"Xie Eun made a face at him even though she was inwardly pleased and said," Did you just drink a lot of honey? You are spouting too many sweet words!"

Yu Seok grinningly pulled her closer to his body and whispered near her lips," Taste my lips and you will know whether there is any honey."

The two people kissed slowly and clingingly before Yu Seok gently drew away and whispered, "Enough playing the nature girl. Come and have breakfast and then we can do some real fun activities."

A veritable feast lay on the table inside. First, she was served with a steaming cup of the best hot chocolate she had ever had and then a stack of fluffy pancakes. The two people ate in comfortable silence, shooting small glances at each other. Finally Xie Eun raised her eyes and asked, "Yu Seok, will you teach me to cook?"

Actually Xie Eun had been thinking something for the past few days. Ever since they had been together, a thought had been going on in the back of her mind. They had not used any protection.. That meant that she could be pregnant at this moment! She felt a tickle in her stomach as she thought this and was already worrying how she would eat healthy if she did not know how to cook!

She felt too shy to talk about this so she could only ask him about learning to cook, He agreed readily, pleasing her no end. Finally after the decadent breakfast, Yu Seok held her hand and the two people trudged through the snowy terrain. Xie Eun looked at him with twinkling eyes and asked," Where are we going?"

Yu Seok smiled and flicked her red nose before answering, "We are going to make a snowman!"

Xie Eun laughed at this, assuming he was teasing her but soon they reached a small place where a lot of snow had gathered in one place. Her eyes widened and she was amazed that he really had planned a snow man activity for her! She did not know whether to laugh or cry. Giggling she looked at him and asked, "Did you by chance schedule a snow fall just so you could give me this surprise.?"

Seeing this, she ran to the pile of snow and taking o her gloves, she shoved the`m into her pocket and started to give it a shape. Once two big balls were placed over one another, Yu Seok handed her a few rocks for eyes and a traditional carrot for the nose. Xie Eun stepped back and got a look at her handiwork with pride. her face had turned rosy with the work she had been doing and she looked at Yu Seok and grinned, "See our cute kid! Our little pride and joy!"

Unexpectedly, she had once again blurted out her thoughts but she never seemed to realize it. Yu Seok looked at her in amazement and irony and a little thoughtfully. She carefully took off her scarf and wrapped it around the snow man. The next moment, She was captured in her husband's arm and was being kissed out of her mind. After kissing each other passionately, the two people moved back a bit before simply hugging each other in the silence and staring at their little 'kid'.

A little while later, Xie Eun looked up into Yu Seok's eyes and asked," Yu Seok? Will you always pamper me like this? Spoil me? Just like this?"

Yu Seok looked down into her eyes and nodded, promising her, "As long as I breathe, I will always pamper you!"

Yu Seok hugged her again, holding her against his chest and savoring the warmth of her in his arms. hearing these words, Xie Eun promised the same to him in her heart. Yu Seok closed his eyes and vowed to himself, "Come what may, he would always love her and treasure her just like this. And they would be together forever."

But neither of them could have thought that the life ahead was going to be full of tests and tribulations, testing their resolution at every turn. And they would at times have to fight the world to prove their love..
