Secret Marriage:The Wolf And The Sheep Chapter 23

Just as Xie Eun had answered her phone and would have heard the reply to her question, the otherwise smoothly driven car halted abruptly. And this time Yu Seok did not stop her from being thrown forward though she was not the one who suffered but her phone. Slipping from her hand, the phone fell first onto the dashboard and then after bouncing off it, straight over her foot, causing her to groan loudly as her toes throbbed.Glaring at Yu Seok for his sudden stopping, she felt even more aggrieved when she saw why he had stopped-to let a dog cross the road!It was sitting on the sidewalk staring at the car and did not even look like it would cross!
Shaking her head in exasperation, Xie Eun massaged her toes with one hand and picked up her phone with the other.
The person on the other hand could be heard shouting,"Hello?Hello?"
Xie Eun winced as she put the phone to her ear and said,"Hello!Sorry Si Jing! The phone slipped from my hand."
Whatever the other party said, Yu Seok could not hear but seeing the sudden change in her expression and the way her expression turned downcast, Yu Seok could just guess what happened. It seemed that Su Jing was getting impatient with Xie Eun.The fact that the man had used her grandmother to leak the fact that he was going to propose to her and instead of running into his arms, she ran back to the village must have made his desperate and uncertain of his position.
Yu Seok glanced at Xie Eun who was reassuring her 'fiance' that she would be back within two days.
Xie Eun first glance of her childhood home made her feel nostalgic.Against the night sky the small house stood proud and aloof. This was her home and she could feel her heart be at peace as she looked at it. All through her teens, she had yearned to fly away from here and experience the world. And today when she finally returned after so long, she suddenly felt foolish for wanting to go from here. She never felt bad living in the city but standing here, she gained a little understanding of herself and her father.Shebwasnreally similar to her father in the aspect that she could roam the world but this wilderness and nature would be her home.

Just as they would have entered the driveway, Xie Eun screamed,"Stop stop stop stop."
Already used to her sudden outbursts, Yu Seok stopped the car slowly and watched as Xie Eun jumped out of the car.She knocked on the car's trunk indicating for him to open it.
Once opened, shenfoshed out her camera and ran forward. Standing in front of the car, Xie Eun brought the camera up to her face and slowly but adjusted the focus. The night faded and only the house remained the focus. Her eyes turned blurry as the many memories of the past rushed up, making her throat dry.She kept clicking the pictures repeatedly, hoping to capture this feeling of nostalgia. Her father was still here, she realised.Living in this house..in the many memories around it.And she had shunned him all this while chasing her dreams..A comforting hand was placed in her shoulder and she leaned against the strong chest at her back..Slowly, she brought down her camera and looked up at him.
"Thank you." she whispered to him.His eyes seemed to understand her and the two people turned back to look at the house simultaneously...
Both lost in their own memories.Xie Eun was reliving her glorious childhood and Wolf, the pain he had experienced when he had last come here..To pay his last respects to a man he looked up to as his father. And to see the woman he had married, hugging another man tightly as she cried over the loss of her father...He looked down at the top of her head which rested against him and sighed deeply..Everything had changed and yet nothing had changed..
Of course Yu Seok may feel that noting had changed but someone who stood starting from a smaller bungalow could see the changes in the couple.

She did not need to worry about them as the house was always kept clean and stocked at regular intervals.
