Bai Tao handed Tang Ning his phone. The first person that came to her mind was Qin Mu. After spending a few days together, she realized she had developed a deep dependence on Qin Mu.

However, after much consideration, she decided to delete Qin Mu's phone number and call Shan Shan instead.

After agreeing on a location with Shan Shan, Tang Ning was helped out of the car. Before she closed the car door, she said to Bai Tao, "Thank you so much."

As soon as Tang Ning got out of the car, Bai Tao immediately took another phone and called Qin Mu to explain the situation.

The voice on the other end of the phone paused for a moment, "Send someone to protect Tang Ning!"

Bai Tao did not dare to do things slowly, "Yes, president."

After learning that Tang Ning was not asking for his help but her best friend, Qin Mu felt disappointed. However, all he could think about was Tang Ning's injuries, so he had no time to feel disappointed.

Shan Shan immediately accompanied Tang Ning to the hospital for a checkup. There were multiple injuries on her body and she needed to check if her internal organs and brain were damaged.

Upon seeing Tang Ning's serious injuries, Shan Shan wiped away her tears, "Ning Ning, who did this to you?"

However, Tang Ning only smiled tiredly at her. "Who else do you think?"

"Is it your family again?" Shan Shan was so angry that she slammed the table beside the bed. "They're so cruel. They're worse than animals. Even a tiger wouldn't eat its own son. How could they be willing to do this to you?"

Tang Ning held onto Shan Shan's hand and comforted her. "Don't get too worked up. It's not like they've been treating me like this for a day or two. This time, they will suffer!"

First, Shan Shan helped Tang Ning pay for her hospital bills. Then, she helped Tang Ning buy some daily necessities and sent them to the hospital. Just as she was about to ask Tang Ning who did this to her, her boss called again and told her to go back and work overtime.

"I don't know why he's acting like this. He insisted that I go back now and work overtime. Last time, he did the same thing to me. He's like a ghost, haunting me! In the end, when I went back to the company, I realized I didn't have any important work to do!"

Tang Ning advised Shan Shan to leave because she would no longer be in danger in the hospital.

Tang Ning closed her eyes as she thought back to the child she was pregnant with. She felt guilty and blamed herself. It was her fault for not fulfilling her responsibility as a mother. She did not even get a chance to take a good look at the child and no one knew if the child was dead or alive.

At that moment, Qin Mu changed into his white coat and quietly walked into the ward. Tang Ning was already asleep. His heart ached so much that he touched Tang Ning's face, only to find a face full of tears.

Tang Ning woke up because she was shocked when someone touched her face. Her body shrank back when she saw Qin mu as she asked, "How did you know I was in this hospital?"

"Have you forgotten? I'm a gynecologist at this hospital. I heard from my colleagues in the emergency department. Ning Ning, who did this to you?"

As Tang Ning recalled the abuse the Tang family had inflicted on her throughout the day, she could not help but tremble. If Qin Mu did not help her at the restaurant that night, she would not have beaten up Tang Jing. With that, the Tang family would not have bring her back home and abuse her. However, she did not blame Qin Mu.

"I don't want to talk about it." Tang Ning furrowed her brows in pain. "Qin Mu, I'm begging you. I'm breaking up with you!"

Upon hearing this, Qin Mu's deep eyes shook as he asked in disbelief, "Why?"

Tang Ning's hands were tightly wrapped around her chest. She did not dare to look into Qin Mu's eyes as she said, "I was once rejected by Young Master Qin, but he still didn't want to let me go. Although he broke off the engagement, I still need his permission to date or get engaged. I don't know when he will let me go, so I suggest we break up!"

Qin Mu could not help but blame himself. Just now, he was simply looking for an excuse to break off the engagement between Tang Ning and the Dong family. He did not expect that it would turn out like that.

Qin Mu said, "Ning Ning, I won't give up on you just because someone else is threatening us! Plus, the more I know that you are facing such a huge threat, the more I need to take care of you and protect you!"

Tang Ning shook her head helplessly. "You can't stop him. He can destroy a company without even lifting a finger. You're just an ordinary working class, how can you fight against him?"

Qin Mu began to regret the image that he had created to scare others.

"Ning Ning, I'm not afraid of him..." Qin Mu looked at Tang Ning sincerely.

"But, I'm scared!" Tang Ning voiced out, "If you really want to protect me, you should stay away from me. At least, you won't make that scary Young Master Qin even angrier."
