Chapter 758: 758
Meng Chuan sat cross-legged in a wooden hut on Dry Origin Mountain.
The time flow in this wooden hut was one-tenth of the normal time flow on Dry Origin Mountain.
It’s time to take action. Meng Chuan opened his eyes, and the time flow in the wooden hut returned to normal.
I can only choose one out of the 31 Chaos overlords. Meng Chuan had already tried every one of them over the years. With the intelligence given by Thousand-Hands, Meng Chuan naturally had a deep understanding of the 31 Chaos overlords.
Although these 31 were all Chaos overlords, there were still differences in strength. For example, the strongest one was called Abyss. It was an indescribably distorted existence; it was a complete abyss. There was no way to destroy it. Once one entered its body, they would be trapped in the abyss. According to the intelligence, only someone with the strength of an Eighth Tribulation Eminence could escape from its body.
Meng Chuan had once entered the prison cell that imprisoned Abyss. Once he entered and Abyss awakened, Meng Chuan’s Essence Soul avatar had already entered the abyss and was forced to self-destruct.
Abyss was one of the strongest Chaos overlords. Meng Chuan didn’t have any hope at defeating it at all—the strength difference was too great.
There were a total of nine Chaos overlords that completely surpassed him.
There were 20 who were on par with him; they had the strength of ordinary Chaos overlords. After all, he had just reached the Essence Soul Eighth Tribulation realm. His accumulation wasn’t deep enough.
There were only two who were weaker than him. These two Chaos overlords… Meng Chuan guessed that they had just broken through recently. A newly-advanced Eighth Tribulation Eminence was still superior to a newly-advanced Chaos overlord.
The test left behind by the Eternal is indeed not difficult. As long as I reach the Eighth Tribulation realm and cultivate for a few more years, I’ll be able to kill most of these imprisoned Chaos overlords. Meng Chuan understood this point. Even the newly-advanced can kill the two weakest ones.
Of these two, one was called Lord of Dreams. Its talent was to create a dream world. The dream world it created was as vast and real as a universe, causing enemies to sink into it. According to the intelligence, Lord of Dreams could also cultivate in a dream.
Another was Realm Devouring Overlord. Its talent move was to open its mouth and swallow! As long as it wanted to, it could devour anything—no matter how large it was. It could even swallow an entire universe by taking several mouthfuls during a slow meal. The premise was that no native Eighth Tribulation Eminence could stop it. According to Thousand-Hands’s intelligence, Realm Devouring Overlord had an infinite stomach in its body. An infinite stomach meant true infinite space.

It was vast and boundless.
The structure of space was very special. It was an infinitely folded spacetime. As long as one was willing, they could fold as many spacetime spaces as they wanted.
Only with an infinite stomach could one eat a universe.
These two weakest Chaos overlords have pretty good talent. One is a dream technique that allows one to cultivate in a dream. The other has an infinite stomach that can devour worlds. Although Meng Chuan felt that they weren’t bad, he could only kill one Chaos overlord on Dry Origin Mountain as stipulated by the opportunities the Eternal existence had bestowed. Thus, the stronger the talent was, the better.
There were many more talented Chaos overlords. For example, a Chaos overlord had the talent of having 3,000 avatars! Although some Chaos overlords could divide into many sub-bodies due to their body structure—such as a Chaos overlord that had hundreds or even tens of thousands of sub-bodies—their sub-bodies were generally much weaker. But all 3,000 of this Chaos overlord’s avatars had the strength of its original body! To a certain extent, they had broken through the laws of endless spacetime.
The endless spacetime had restrictions on the avatars of Physical Body Tribulation Eminences and Essence Soul Tribulation Eminences.
Although this Chaos overlord’s 3,000 avatars couldn’t be too distant from each other, each of them had the strength of a true body. It was somewhat terrifying. Even though one of its true bodies only had the strength of an ordinary Chaos overlord, its talent made it one of the top three most terrifying existences imprisoned on Dry Origin Mountain.
Meng Chuan believed that only a peak Eighth Tribulation Eminence could defeat it.
The 3,000-avatar talent, each comparable to the true body, will greatly increase the efficiency of cultivation if so used. Meng Chuan coveted this talent. Furthermore, this was a talent that had broken through the endless spacetime laws.
According to Senior Brother Thousand-Hands’s records, such a talent had extraordinary significance. If one could comprehend its profundities, they could cultivate this path to the limits of the Eighth Tribulation realm.
The talents of Chaos overlords were all extremely amazing.
Chaos overlords had experienced countless tribulations in the endless spacetime before reaching the pinnacle of Chaos creatures and becoming overlords. As Eighth Tribulation-level lifeforms, the talent they produced was naturally unimaginable. Ordinary means weren’t considered talent for lifeforms at their level.
I can only choose one that suits me the best. Meng Chuan came to Dry Origin Mountain’s imprisoned space and arrived in front of a prison cell. He looked at the Chaos overlord inside. This is it!
Meng Chuan levitated in front of one of the 31 spatial prisons.

Through the spatial prison’s membrane, time was still. A hundred-headed monster was entrenched in the prison. The hundred heads had very calm expressions. Each head had white eyebrows that fluttered. Its single eye was closed, and it had no ears or nose. Its body was somewhat similar to a tentacled octopus. Its massive body coiled there, and the hundred heads looked calm and peaceful.
“Wise.” Meng Chuan looked at it.
This monster was called Wise.
It was originally one of the countless living beings living inside Abyss. After years of nurturing, it became the most valued subordinate of Abyss. It lived at the bottom of Abyss and helped Abyss perfect its structure and devour the outside world. Abyss also gave it a portion of its devouring power, allowing it to advance to become a Chaos overlord.
Abyss relied on the wisdom of Wise to become stronger.
Abyss devoured countless living beings and countless worlds. Ordinary Eighth Tribulation Eminences could only protect themselves in front of it and escape its capture. Only Eternal personal disciples could match it.
As it was too fearless and unrestrained, it captured and devoured many spacetime continuums. Finally, an Eternal existence took action and captured Abyss. The Hundred-Headed Wise in Abyss was naturally brought over. As they were both Chaos overlords, they were imprisoned in two different areas.
The intelligence on it is very vague. It’s only said that it’s Wise. There are no detailed records of its powerful talent. Even so, Meng Chuan wanted to kill it very much.
It was very strange for Chaos overlords to be famous for their intelligence.
Whoosh.
Meng Chuan stood outside the spatial prison and sent an Essence Soul avatar in.
The moment he entered, time in the massive spatial prison returned to normal. The hundred-headed monster, Wise—which had been motionless from the imprisonment—opened its eyes.
Its eyes were calm, without any hint of ruthlessness. The corners of its mouth were slightly curved as though it was smiling. Its white eyebrows fluttered as hundreds of heads stared at Meng Chuan. “You’re here again.”
“I’m here to kill you again.” Meng Chuan nodded.
“When the Eternal captured me, I knew that I had to repay karma,” said the hundred-headed monster. “However, you still can’t kill me with your strength.”
“Is that so?” Meng Chuan smiled.
At their level, it was very difficult to see their respective futures. However, the hundred-headed monster seemed to be able to see through everything. Its prophecies were extremely accurate.
Whoosh.
The hundred-headed monster entrenched itself, but an illusory abyss appeared around it.
This was a spherical abyss. From the outermost layer to the inner layer, the hundred-headed monster was at the core.
The innermost layer of the abyss was the smallest, slightly larger than a river system. The outermost layer of the abyss was even larger than a river zone. A total of 399 layers of the abyss formed a sphere that occupied more than half of the spatial prison. This was a spatial prison that imprisoned Chaos overlords. The space inside varied in size, so it was naturally easy to withstand it.
Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!
The 399 layers of the illusory abyss protected it. Yet, Meng Chuan’s invisible will still seeped into the hundred-headed monster’s consciousness.
An attack that targeted the mind.
As an Essence Soul Eighth Tribulation Eminence, Meng Chuan was the strongest in this aspect. He wanted to destroy the other party’s consciousness.
“I’ve already said that it’s useless.” Many invisible thoughts seeped through the layers of the abyss. Every layer Meng Chuan passed through made it harder for him to penetrate further. When they completely seeped into the hundred-headed monster’s body, only 30% of its strength remained. The hundred-headed monster resisted as it spoke.
“Seal of World Annihilation.”
With a thought, another array formation appeared. A large seal condensed and crushed down.
The hundred-headed monster sighed inwardly. Eighth Tribulation Eminences who had completely grasped time and space had terrifying means.
Moments later…
I still can’t kill it. Meng Chuan stopped and looked at the hundred-headed monster protected by the illusory abyss. I’ll give it a try after my formulation is perfected. If it still doesn’t work, I can only give up and choose a weaker Chaos overlord.
After reading on Book Mountain for 60 years and reading a large number of Eternal legacies, his horizons had broadened.
Meng Chuan had plans to perfect his ultimate techniques.
Whoosh.
Meng Chuan’s Essence Soul avatar retreated.
The moment he retreated, the time flow in the spatial prison gradually came to a halt. An invisible sealing force suppressed the hundred-headed monster.
How glorious was it back then? The hundred-headed creature couldn’t help but recall the scene when Abyss traversed endless spacetime and devoured worlds.
Abyss was too powerful. Many Chaos creatures submitted to Abyss after being sucked into it, becoming its subordinates.
And it was the one with the highest status below Abyss.
Unfortunately, these were all memories.
The hundred-headed monster closed its eyes and was completely imprisoned. Time also came to a complete standstill.

Leaves of Terranthir
DISCONTINUED - I won't be writing more of this fiction. Check out the latest post for a worlbuilding summary / final thoughts. Leaves of Terranthir is a gamelit blend of ARPG, action, fantasy, and slice of life. It's inspired in part by some of my favourite games, borrowing in themes, sense of exploration, and aesthetics from the Soulsborne and soulslike genre, mixed heavily with arpg itemization from Diablo/PoE style games. While many may remember their Soulslike experiences as nothing more than suffering, I personally loved the sense of progression, to prevail over challenges and monsters that seemed impossible to defeat at first. If any of that seems interesting to you, do check out the first chapter and let me know what you think. Cheers, and thanks for reading. Cover by Baconstrap.

City of Champions Online

She's tried other VRMMORPGs, but they've all been fantasy-based, with a couple sci-fi games thrown in. But she wants something more, something Super. Superhero VRMMOs have had a... subpar reception in the past, in part due to the fact that the nature of most MMOs makes for fairly unheroic tales. After the couple hundredth time blasting the same group of mooks from the same faction on the same street corner of the same city, using the same powerset as everyone else because you only have a few options, it is hard to think of yourself as a hero anymore. But then she heard about City of Champions Online. For the first time, a developer partnered with a tabletop RPG maker to use their system to create a VRMMORPG, and it was one of the systems designed to be used with superhero games! And despite the name, there was no getting stuck in the same city as all the other players. The game world was a detailed replica of the real world, down to having some of the same shops and restaurants in town. She could be whoever she wanted, whatever she wanted. Now, she just has to find a way to become the heroine she's always wanted to be.

Children of Danu, People of Skill Book 1. (LitRPG/Gamelit)
Hi all, this is my first attempt at fiction ever. I'm sure it's awful, first attempts at new things usually are. Hopefully you can find something you like in it. I had a great deal of fun writing it. It's a basic Litrpg/Game, God sends you to a new world to do their bidding plot. I Know I did too much telling and not enough showing. I'm working on that. The underlying system is one haven't seen or done much. a full Point Buy system, like Gurps, Champions or the Hero system. After writing it a while, I see why folks don't do it. The record keeping is tedious. And once you start doing math in subsequent chapters, you can't go back and add more action, just because you dread redoing all the math. I've got about 80k words written in two "books" on the novel so far. I'm going to edit chapters and try to drop a couple a week till it's finished. Hopefully that will work for folks. I need to punch up the amount of action. I'll be working on that as well. Thanks, Cal-P.S> The cover art is one of the two CIrce Paintings By Waterhouse.
