Sword Among Us Chapter 396 – Unique Palm Technique
Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation
Whine!
The long sword whine was like a divine song that came from beyond heaven. It shot through the middle-aged woman’s chest along with a sword force that was gorgeous, dazzling, and breathtaking. The sword whine then echoed in the air above Black Willow Mountain Manor without disappearing for a long time.
Thud…
The cold air dispersed. The middle-aged woman’s arms swiftly returned to their original, healthy pink color, and her corpse crashed to the cold floor.
Happy quickly stuffed a Dew Pill into his mouth. He then went to the middle-aged woman’s corpse and groped around until he found her Universe Bag. A smile appeared on his face at the sight of it.
However, that smile soon fell away, replaced by a frown of wariness toward danger.
Whoosh!
He tumbled a few times backward without any sign. The sturdy flagstone where he originally stood were shattered into countless pieces with a bang and flew in all directions.
“How dare you kill my student?! I will destroy you or die doing so!”
The person who appeared in front of Happy was Third Manor Master of the three old monsters. He swept his gaze over the middle-aged woman’s corpse and let out a furious shout that shook hearts. While he stared at Happy, his palms turned completely red as if they were about to start burning.
‘Red Flame Palm!’
Happy was astonished. Without waiting for Third Manor Master to attack, he tapped against the ground and quickly floated thirty-two feet away.
“Thinking of leaving?!”
Third Manor Master had expected that Happy would run. He roared and chased after him like a shadow. He seized with a hand, and hot waves surged in Happy’s body. His qi began to show signs that it was about to become disorderly and go on a rampage in his body.
Happy was filled with great shock!
It was no wonder then why the old man could have a disciple who practiced the unique palm technique Freezing Palm. The old monster with his Red Flame Palm could make a person’s qi surge with his palm wind, which he sent at Happy when he was more than thirty-two feet away.
Happy was affected by it and not happy about it. He wondered whether Third Manor Master had hidden his strength and was actually stronger than Manor Master, or whether it was because the difficulty of the quest had been increased.
Whatever the case, it was not something good.
Aside from having slightly higher attack, unique palm techniques also had unique attack effects. For example, they could affect a person’s speed, and when the effect was severe, it could even affect the opponent’s attacks. It would increase the chance that the enemy would reveal a weakness, but this sort of palm technique could only be executed and brought to its full potential by those in Life and Death Realm.

Red Flame Palm was even better than that, however.
It was incredibly famous in Happy’s previous life. During battle, it could affect the enemy’s qi and blood, as well as increase the depletion of the enemy’s qi. When the enemy was injured, that technique would be even more troublesome. The enemy’s blood would boil, and it would make the enemy die faster.
That was the reason why Happy had insisted on staying after he noticed that the middle-aged woman had Freezing Palm.
Unique palm techniques were mainly dropped by certain NPCs. Those NPCs were not fixed, and the second one would not appear soon. They were so rare that they were only slightly less valuable than ultimate techniques. In Happy’s previous life, their price was higher than that of even grade one masterpieces. Of course, when he said that, he meant fourth-echelon grade one masterpieces.
It had the right choice to come inside!
Happy did not dare to be negligent. He had his qi surge into his Dantian region, and a vast wave of qi swiftly filled his entire body.
Boom!
Gate… Blessed… Mystical…
He activated his qi realm fully!
At the same time, Happy stuffed another Dew Pill into his mouth. He suppressed the blood in his mouth, which was about to begin surging and gritted his teeth. He forcefully held his q and nimbly jumped up the roof. He then started running with a quick glance back.
Aside from the old monster who used Red Flame Palm, there was no other pursuer.
Happy’s expression changed.
‘Damn it! I only managed to lure one of them!’
He originally intended to lure Third Manor Master to the courtyard, but when he thought about how there were still two Moksha Realm monsters in the backyard, he was sure that Momo would definitely be unable to get past them.
‘I can’t leave just like this!’
Under the Red Flame monster’s astonished gaze, Happy suddenly turned around and drew Noble Sword.
Both people were incredibly close to each other!
An astonishing and peerless sword force shot out. The Red Flame monster did not even have the chance to dodge. He shuddered, and by sheer reflex, he struck Happy violently with two palm strikes.
‘Petite Dragon.’
At the instant he grazed past the Red Flame monster, Happy avoided the first palm in an incredibly ingenious manner, but he did not avoid the second palm strike. It crashed violently against his Golden Bell Cocoon.
Boom!
A powerful force rammed against Happy’s body, and he crashed into the loft behind him like a cannonball.
The Red Flame monster covered his left cheek with shock and anger. The blood on his cheek swiftly dyed his palm red.

Happy had not aimed at the man’s heart with the slash just then, but his head. If the Red Flame monster had turned even the slightest bit during that critical moment, it would have decided his life or death, and he would not have gotten away from it with a simple scratch or having an ear missing. His whole head might have been split open.
In his shock and anger, the Red Flame monster also sensed that he had not dealt any sort of substantial damage to Happy. His body fortification had negated most of the damage. The Red Flame Palm might have made him use up some of his qi, but his abilities were not compromised.
When the Red Flame monster remembered the sword force that Happy had unleashed when they were in close proximity of each other, he also remembered how it had made him feel fear. Hence, the Red Flame monster did not immediately chase into the loft. His palms heated up, and his face began to release smoke. His features twisted into something fearsome because of intense pain.
“AHHHH!!!”
The immense pain from cauterizing his wound made the Red Flame monster release a furious roar that sounded like a thunderclap. His voice traveled far around him.
Happy did not bother himself with the Red Flame monster. He had used the force from the palm strike to ram through the wall and break into the loft. He then jumped up and rushed out of the other window without stopping. He shot to the backyard of Black Willow Mountain Manor.
“What’s going on?!”
There was an artificial mountain in the backyard of Black Willow Mountain Manor. Two manor master’s sat in a pavilion nearby, and they heard the scream of pain that was filled with anger and hate. They shuddered before they stood up together with disbelieving expressions. “Third actually suffered a setback? Second, go take a look!”
Second Manor Master grabbed his Lionhead Nine-ringed Golden Broadsword, but just when he was about to move, a golden figure entered their sight with a few jumps. He arrived outside the pavilion like a phantom.
“It’s you again!”
Their expressions changed slightly.
Happy did not bother wasting his breath with the other two. The Red Flame monster stopped shouting, so he would soon be after him. If Happy continued dragging things out, he would not have a good ending.
He quickly fixed his gaze on the artificial mountain, and with a flash, his Noble Sword shone with layers of sword light. The two normal members of Black Willow Mountain Manor there did not know that Happy’s target was them. They were caught off guard and died the moment he attacked them.
“Damn it!”
This action instantly sent Manor Master and Second Manor Master into a rage.
Happy did not hesitate though. He flipped over the wall and left after his slash proved to be effective, not allowing the two monsters to have a chance to surround him.
“How dare you try to leave?!”
Second Manor Master and Manor Master saw that Happy had killed their men right in front of them, and they felt as if they had been slapped in the face.
“Third, stay here and guard the place!” Manor Master shouted out.
Then, they left Black Willow Mountain Manor to chase after Happy.
The Red Flame monster could only see Happy and his two senior brothers leave into the distance when he arrived at the wall beyond the artificial mountain. His cheek hurt intensely, and he wanted to chase after Happy so that he could tear him to pieces, but when he remembered the important person held hostage inside the artificial mountain, he chose to stay in the manor.
When the Red Flame monster gritted his teeth and cast all his attention on the area outside the wall, he forgot that the two guards who were tasked to protect the artificial mountain had died.
At that moment, a purplish-red figure shot past the two guards’ corpses without a sound and snuck into the darkness within the artificial mountain. She did not alert the Red Flame monster.
It was only when there was a loud crash, a sound that made it very clear that something broke, that the Red Flame monster’s expression change drastically. He turned around and rushed into the tunnel inside the artificial mountain.
But before he could even get close…
“Traitorous disciple! Die!”
An old and domineering roar rose in the air. The tunnel of the artificial mountain exploded with a bang out of the blue, and the Red Flame monster quickly came to a stop while filled with incredible shock.
“Someone actually managed to open it?!”
Stones flew horizontally, and a forceful and fierce palm wind crashed into the Red Flame monster’s body! The man instantly coughed up blood and crashed in the wall dozens of feet away in a pathetic manner. Then, he jumped a few times without hesitation and fled in a stagger. He did not even dare to turn his head around.

This Book
The author, Edward Faust is aware that “This Book” does not really describe what this book is about. We shall pretend that it is a meta artistic choice but the reality is that Mr. Faust is bad at coming up with titles, and since starting This Book back in 2015 as a NaNoWriMo project he could never come up with a good one. This Book’s genre is YA Supernatural, but that’s only as helpful as any genre tag (IE: not very) so I shall describe it further. This Book is primarily about reincarnation, but it also features mythical creatures such as angels (known here as Seraphs), demons, Byzantines, as well as homeschoolers. Two mythical homeschoolers in fact make up the main characters of this work, a pair of siblings named Grayson and Kish. They live in metro Atlanta in the year 2019 AD with their Aunt. On one particular day they are plunged into a rabbit hole of spiritual and metaphysical politics by the arrival of a mysterious one-eyed Green haired woman and strange humanoid creatures into their lives. That is where the story begins. Yes. This book can also be found at https://thisbook.home.blog/
