Sword Among Us Chapter 178 – Three Party Members

When Little North returned, All-powerful Medicinal Stone had already left. Little North’s face was full of curiosity. He would occasionally glance at Happy’s side profile with slightly nervous expression. Even so, he looked rather cautious.
“Alright, if you have any questions, ask.” Happy was incredibly sensitive to that sort of gaze, so he could not help but say in disdain, “Staring at me like that, you’re just trying to distract me, right?”
In truth, he knew that it would be very strange if Little North could suppress his curiosity after hearing All-powerful Medicinal Stone talk about Class One Hall.
“Heh heh…” Little North scratched the back of his head in embarrassment. “I was also worried about you, Big Brother Happy. Um… do you really intend to go up against Class One Hall?” When he asked the question, his eyes began to sparkle in excitement.
“It has nothing to do with you.”
“How could you say that this has nothing to do with me?” When Little North heard his words, his expression changed, and he became anxious. “No matter what, I, Little North, have already trained with you for so long. Big Brother Happy, take me with you! Don’t worry, I promise you that I won’t hold you back!”
Happy did not answer. He only continued to train against the zombies quietly. He repeatedly executed the skills of Stormy Shadowless Kick. The shadows from his kicks were endless, and the wind from his punches roared.
The sounds of something being struck repeatedly came from the zombie!
By then, the damage of his Stormy Shadowless Kick had neared eight hundred points after the martial art reached the tenth realm. Together with the 380 additional damage from his Green Jade Shrouded in Heavenly Silks, his damage was now comparable to a normal high-tier martial art.
But the damage of Stormy Shadowless Kick was not its most terrifying side!
What was truly terrifying was its speed. Its punches were like the wind, and its kicks could not be seen. The punches and kicks were as swift as a storm and rained down on the zombie like drops of rain. The zombie’s body was like a sandbag placed within a storm. It could not control it at all at that moment and could only sway left and right. There was absolutely no chance for it to counterattack.
As Little Norther watched, the shock and admiration in his eyes became greater, and his decision to go up against Class One Hall with his Big Brother Happy became even firmer!

“Big Brother Happy, take me with you.”
“Give me a reason.”
The four words that were thrown back at him as a response lifted Little North’s spirits. Then, he looked dumbstruck.
“What?”
Happy defeated a zombie with just three punches and two kicks and turned around to look at Little North.
“Class One Hall’s members are strong, and they have great power. They aren’t easy to deal with. I have a grudge against Class One Hall, so it’s only natural that I have a reason to go up against them, but what reason do you have?”
“Ah…” Little North thought about it. “Big Brother Happy, your enemy is my enemy, isn’t that enough?”
“You are you, and I am me. That reason isn’t strong enough.” Happy did not turn his head around. He collected his spoils of war and continued heading into the depths to search for new training targets.
Little North quickly followed after him and racked his brains for a better reason.
“Class One Hall does every evil that can be conceived! I want to get rid of them for all that is just in the world!”
“I think I’ll have to kill you first, don’t you think? Do you have a few screws loose in your mind?”
Happy stared at Little North with a face full of disdain.
Little North’s face turned red. “I really don’t have any sort of connection with them, but you asked me to give you a reason. I can only come up with a random one.”
“So why do you insist on following me?”
“It’s naturally because I want to become a powerful fighter like you, big brother!” Little North answered with his eyes sparkling.
Happy said nothing. He mulled over his words carefully before he said in the end, “I can somewhat accept this reason.
“But your strength is still not up to standard. How about this? I’ll give you three days. If you can kill three Mystical Realm zombies in one go within three days, I’ll let you join.”
“Three?” Little North’s expression grew troubled.
“If you can’t even get through this level of difficulty, you can take back your words just now.”
When he saw Happy’s gaze and tone gradually turn indifferent, Little North gritted his teeth and puffed out his chest. “If you want three, I’ll give you three!”
As he spoke, he brought his two precious zombies and quickly left.
He did not notice that the moment he left, Happy stopped and stared at his back with a smile for some time.

It might seem as if there was no hope of winning for a Blessed Realm player with two Blessed Realm zombie puppets against three Mystical Realm zombies at once. It would seem like they were trying to fight in a three versus three battle with three Blessed Realm players against three Mystical Realm players on the other side. The difference in strength was three fold, making it impossible to win.
But when put it into practice, the situation was a lot different
After all, zombies were NPCs, and they did not know how to work together. The two zombie puppets, on the other hand, could bring forth twice or even several times their original damage under Little North’s control.
Once he truly studied working with his zombie puppets, he would definitely be able to reach a breakthrough within three days and improve greatly! He would also be able to truly bring out the essence and power of a corpse controller!
A resolute look flashed briefly in Happy’s eyes.
Three days later, he would leave Luoyang, because two days after that time, something major would happen in the game, if his memory served him correctly.
A sect with quite a lot of fame would openly set up Chivalry Sect in Fox Cave, causing hundreds of Blessed Realm players from Chivalry Sect to die in the second level of Fox Cave, thereby causing a major battle between sects would last for more than two months!
The cities around Fox Cave would practically all be covered in flames of war. The battles that covered the world in dark clouds would not stop, because Yao Hua’s wife would then turn into the Nine-tailed Fox and slaughter all players near Fox Cave and Immortal Fox Village. Blood would flow in rivers and corpses would be strewn all over the land. It was only then that the battle between the two sects would finally come to an end.
However, Happy remembered that after a year, Chivalry Sect would be destroyed, and the sect that had fought against it for more than two months would be taken under Class One Hall’s wing. It was also revealed that the nameless organization was the true mastermind who had fought against Chivalry Sect.
“The Gods are watching whatever you are doing.”
At that moment, Happy believed in the truth of those words.
He wanted to claim the chance to use Chivalry Sect to cut down the sect that served as Class One Hall’s claw!
Even though it was only one of the sects that served Class One Hall, it would bring quite a lot of benefits from Fox Cave for Class One Hall that could not be overlooked. Even if Happy could not destroy it, he would make it sink into a bad situation during the fight and make it so that the sect could not spend any time to develop.
If he relied on only Little North and All-powerful Medicinal Stone on his trip to Fox Cave, it would not be enough. With only them, he could not manipulate the battlefield. He had to look for a few more teammates with abilities before he could do anything.
Once Little North left, Happy brought out a messenger pigeon and a letter.
His brush flew all over the paper. Once he was done, he stuffed it into the bamboo tube at the messenger pigeon’s leg.
He cast it a profound glance before releasing it.
He calculated the time. It had almost been eight days since he had left the ancient tomb. If Thunderous Battle had been practicing Infinite Sword Technique, he should have reached Grandmaster Realm with it.
With a body fortification technique at Grandmaster Realm and the Infinite Sword Technique at Grandmaster Realm as well, Happy believed that Thunderous Battle’s combat ability would allow him to handle two top-tier martial artists without any problem. Even if he would not be able to go up against the three monsters of Class One Hall, it would be enough.
But Thunderous Battle was different from Little North. He was the type who preferred silence and did not like fights. In Happy’s eyes, such people would find it very hard to survive in the game.
Hence, he schemed a little and invited Thunderous Battle simply to search for treasures in Fox Cave. He also intentionally stated that he had already offended a lot of sects as of then. They might run into trouble because of that, so he asked Thunderous Battle to think about it carefully.
Soon, a messenger pigeon flapped its wings and entered the mass grave.
Happy opened the letter, and there were three words written on it with firm brushstrokes.
“I’ll be there!”
*****
Thunderous Battle clenched the letter in his hands tightly while in the ancient tomb outside Yangzhou.
In the last couple days, all he had heard were miracles of Happy fighting against countless Blessed Realm players by himself. Thunderous Battle, a level-headed man who had always loved peace, was stimulated by those tales to the point that his blood boiled. When he received Happy’s letter, he made the decision to head to Fox Cave and join the expedition without any hesitation.
Like that, Happy received his third party member!
