Chapter 1953: 1953
It was a simple family dinner and was supposed to be a simple, official meeting between Ye Qianqian and the relatives .
But ultimately, it was just a gathering .
After the meal, Ye Qianqian and Shen Zhilie went to the Shen residence .
But the moment they entered the Shen house, they heard the cries of a baby .
The sound was exceptionally jarring, especially since there weren’t any young children in the family at all .
Ye Qianqian looked at Shen Zhilie and asked, “Where did the baby come from?”
Shen Zhilie’s lips curled up slightly, but he didn’t reply right away .
Shen Zhilie led Ye Qianqian into the house, and they immediately saw Nanny He, who was
coaxing a baby in her arms .
Ye Qianqian didn’t have much experience with babies, but this baby didn’t seem like it was a newborn .
It had to be at least one or two months old .
Ye Qianqian moved in closer and glanced curiously at it before asking, “Whose baby is this?”
Nanny He grinned and replied, “It’s the Great Young Master’s child . ”
Ye Qianqian was stunned, but she quickly understood what was going on .
She turned and look at Shen Zhilie, who then nodded at her and said, “You’ve guessed right . ”
Shocked, she drew in a sharp breath and said, “How could she agree to send the baby over?”
“Shen Luo’an is a real jerk!” she thought .
Ye Qianqian didn’t think he was very successful as a husband or a man .
“Could such a person really take good care of a child?” she thought .
“Where is she?” Ye Qianqian asked .
Shen Zhilie glanced at her . “I don’t know,” he said simply . “My brother said she’s dead . ”
“Impossible!” Ye Qianqian found it hard to believe, but at the same time, she felt a little sad .

“Shen Manting had terrible fortune,” she thought . “She met Shen Luo’an, and then she met Old Mrs . Shen… Sigh!”
“I don’t believe it, either,” Shen Zhilie sighed softly . “Do you want to hold the baby?”
Ye Qianqian initially wanted to hold it, but then she felt a little afraid to do so .
“This is Shen Manting and Shen Luo’an’s child!” she thought .
After she stared at the baby for a while, she couldn’t restrain herself any longer and reached out her hands to take it .
The baby wouldn’t stop crying . Its face was already red from crying, and its voice was loud and piercing .
“Is the child a boy or a girl?” Ye Qianqian stared at it and pinched its tiny hands .
Miraculously, the child’s cries lessened the moment she pinched it .
As if it were curious, it opened its black, watery eyes and stared at Ye Qianqian .
“It’s really pretty . ” Ye Qianqian stared at the baby in her arms, and her lips widened into a smile .
“He’s a boy . His name is Shen Yuexiao . ” Shen Zhilie looked at the baby . “Grandmother named him . What do you think?”
“It sounds nice,” Ye Qianqian exclaimed . “‘Yue’ as in ‘excel’?”
“Yes, and ‘Xiao’ as in ‘brave and fierce . ‘”
“That’s pretty awesome . Did Grandmother come up with it through fortune-telling?”
“Probably . I’m not sure . ” Shen Zhilie stared at the baby . “The baby was already here when I returned to the capital, but Manting didn’t come back here . ”
“You didn’t manage to see her?”
“No . ” Shen Zhilie sounded as if he were scolding himself . “My brother said she’s dead, so how could I see her?”
Ye Qianqian became silent, feeling a little doubtful about what Shen Luo’an said .

“Shen Manting wouldn’t die so easily, would she?” she asked herself in disbelief .

January 25 . Sunny day .
It was the New Year, and he came to look for me . He brought a few dozen bags of tonics, and he let himself into my apartment without my permission . I didn’t dare to go home and was drenched in the rain .
