Chapter 621: 621
Chapter 621: Roja Vs. Kuzuhara Ryu
Following after Mayuri, Shiba Isshin was the next captain to arrive together with Shunsui.
And since Shunsui came, of course, Ukitake would be here next.
Hence, five captains gathered along with Yamamoto while people were wondering who was the next to arrive.
Suddenly, a giant appeared by jumping directly toward the Sōkyoku hill. Only one person had the power to actually make such a leap. The figure landed with a bang.
“The moisture here is convenient.”
Kusajishi Yachiru on Zaraki’s shoulder turned her eyes then looked around then grinned: “That Roja brat isn’t here?”
Zaraki coming here wasn’t to watch Roja fighting the Grand Kido Chief, but it was most likely for his own fight.
Just after Zaraki arrived, Roja made his entrance.
“Greetings, Head captain, captains.”
Roja gently greeted the head captain and the others.
Yamamoto and the others didn’t show neither approval nor disapproval, except Zaraki, who directly grinned and said: “Why are you making such hypocritical gesture, you and I are alike, don’t try to hide it. How about… how about we play a little game while we wait for the others to come?!”
Zaraki actually moved forward and was really intending to fight Roja here.
But at this moment, Kuchiki Byakuya moved in front of Zaraki and directly looked at him: “Don’t break the rule, we don’t need you to make ruckus here.”
“Ha? What did you say?”
Zaraki tilted his head while looking at Byakuya as if he was looking for a fight, well he was actually looking for a fight.
“Enough.”
Yamamoto opened his eyes, and he knocked his walking stick on the ground and said: “Stop that behavior. It’s not becoming of a captain.”
Byakuya was calm and silent as he returned to his place, while Zaraki clicked his tongue and no longer moved toward Roja.

Roja didn’t pay attention to Byakuya or Zaraki, but he was surprised that Unohana Retsu wasn’t present.
He looked at the somewhat uneasy Hinamori Momo beside him and said to Yamamoto: “Hinamori is really important to me, so please allow her to observe.”
“Ok.”
Yamamoto looked at Hinamori beside Roja, who gave a slight bow toward him.
Standing in front of an audience of captains, Hinamori almost had stage fright. Even though the Captains weren’t using Reiatsu or anything, the pressure was still there, and if not for Roja beside her, she would’ve fallen to her knees already.
She took a deep breath and moved back toward Shinigamis from the Kido Corps.
The Kido Corps’ member didn’t dare to say anything to her or even stay close. If Roja were to win and become the Grand Kido Chief, with her relationship with Roja, they wouldn’t be able to afford to offend her.
Finally, when everything was ready, the Grand Kido Chief, Fujiwara Ryu, took his place.
He was slightly fat while his skin color was brown; he didn’t have much hair above his head. His Zanpakuto was hanging on his waist in its initial form.
Ryu looked at Roja with hostility and coldness as he directly released his Reiatsu to press Roja.
But the ‘oh so great’ pressure released by Ryu was like gentle waves passing by Roja. He didn’t even pay attention to them.
“Since everyone here, you can start.”
Genryusai said as he looked between Roja and Ryu. Today was a duel, which may as well be a life and death battle, so there was no need for a long speech.
“Well, Well… They are about to start.”
Isshin’s eyes flashed as he said: “I didn’t see that Fujiwara fellow’s power before, but I think he may lose, after all, that young lad fought Zaraki here an didn’t suffer any losses.”

“Ha? Are you saying that I’m weak?”
Zaraki heard Isshin’s words and immediately looked at him.
Although Isshin was from the Shiba family, which was one of the four noble clans, and the captain of the tenth division as well, he wasn’t a serious person, so he directly awkwardly said: “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it like that.”
“…”
Zaraki had nothing to say about this because Shiba Isshin had a strange character.
The other captains didn’t pay any attention to their conversation as they were actually paying attention to the fight that was about to begin, even Yamamoto was interested.
“You challenged me and didn’t bring you Zanpakuto?” Ryu held his Zanpakuto and said coldly to Roja.
Roja was wearing a lose Haori, and there was no place to hide his Zanpakuto, so I can be seen that he wasn’t planning to fight using his Zanpakuto.
“Since I’m challenging you to be the Kido Grand Chief, I thought I would settle this with Kido only… Not to mention, I won’t need to use my Zanpakuto against someone like you.”
“What arrogance!”
Ryu sneered. Even the Kido Corps would use their Zanpakuto when they fought.
Ryu directly released his Shikai.
“Gnaw and Nip, Soldier Ant!”
Having his position threatened by Roja, Ryu wasn’t going to go easy against Roja. He directly released his own Shikai.
As he pulled his Zanpakuto, the sword changed to look like an ant filled with strange spots.
Roja saw this and didn’t comment. He only looked tranquil as he stretched two fingers and said:
“Hado No.91: Senjū Kōten Taihō!”

Dreams or Another World - Not a Zero (Update 09/19/21)
(Updated 09/19/21) Hello and welcome. If you made it this far and the book title sounds interesting, I'm hoping you'll read a few chapters. Here's a sample from chapter 1 of "Dreams or Another World - Not a Zero."Slowly starting to wake up, I become aware. It's like coming out of a fog.Head hurts.Body hurts. There's a conversation in the room. This isn't my bed. Someone is touching my arm. I crack my eyes to look. She doesn't notice. Is she praying for me? Her hands do feel good…do feel... Slipping back unconscious, my eyes slowly close. I didn't notice the soft green glow under Jenn’s hands.*******************"It does look like he saved them or at least stalled them long enough for us to get there." says the man dressed more like a park ranger than an officer of the law. "I did think he was part of it at first" he continues "but the evidence shows he wasn't there and they were certainly fighting on that back road where we found them""I don't care who he is." says a woman as she enters the room. "He saved and protected my Jenn. I will make sure there's not a mark or a scar on him before he leaves". As she continues the few steps over to the men speaking, even though dressed simply in common clothes, there is no doubt the race of elves is in her heritage. The grace and lines of her form. The elegance and lightness of her step. She glances at her daughter, still watching over the young man in the bed. "Do we know who he is yet?" she asks no one in particular."Not yet dear" a man in a white coat responds. A handsome middle-aged man. Fit, but not that of a fighter or ranger. "I asked Talon to bring another identification stone with him. I was hoping ours was just broke, but it's reading the same.""What do you think is wrong?" Talon asks."I'm thinking we just have to wait until he recovers. I have heard of cases where the stone didn't work. Powerful spells can hide or wipe a person clean. I doubt he's a spy or a criminal. Spells like that are just too high level if, they're used at all. My best guess is, there is just some disconnect with him being unconscious. When he wakes, we can ask him or use the stone again then."I find myself waking up in a hospital bed. The attending Doctor finds it odd that he cannot identify my class. An Officer says I’m a Hero for saving a girl from being kidnapped, but he’s asking too many questions for my liking. I know an accusing tone when I hear it. I don’t remember any of it and I need to find my way home.Author’s notes. Original work. First draft and update of chapters 1-16. Inspired by various fantasy games and books. Written with a focus on character development and interaction. Combat, progression, leveling, classes, but no numbers or stats. I’ll try to keep the language clean, PG-13, no smut. I’m in the US, writing in English. Almost fifty chapters are completed as I pen this introduction. I intend to complete this story or at least bring it to a proper ending. I have a destination in mind. I find as I write, doors and ideas open, while others close and are discarded. The tentative release schedule will be once a week. I'm new to creating. My apologies now while I learn. I have not settled on a book cover or artwork, still looking for something that fits. Registered & Protected #20VjeKDv2U6nynW6

The Madec Legacy
The dawn of Emotion Based A.I.s is here, John is the fifth test subject to have an AI implemented in his brain, and so far the first one to survive. Blinded by the dream of immortality, the researchers push the tests to inhumane standards. John is obligated to take part in sessions of torture designed to test the limits of the AI influence over the physical and mental health. What was supposed to be a new beginning in life turns into living hell. An (un)lucky twist ends his life. John then reincarnates with his AI in a new world where a System influences the interaction between Magic and Matter. With seemingly limitless potential and a game-like system influencing the world, the hero sets on his journey. --AUTHOR NOTE, PLEASE READ-- I will state here my promises to you, potential reader: 1. No harem! I don't trust myself to make a harem feel natural or healthy, I never met any person who has a personality that can adapt and live in a harem for reasons that are not monetary, so I can't draw inspiration from real life. Sorry!; 2. The enemies will not be bland and illogically mean. Some may feel like that at first, but I will take great care in fleshing them out, trust me. You may end up hating some, but you won't be able to deny that they had their reasons for what they did; 3. I am using a paid (and expensive) automated editor tool, and I take longer to write because I take my time in editing the stuff. I am aiming to improve and I will not shy away from constructive criticism, nor take offense for no reason; 4. Characters will die and will suffer, some will get over the tragedies and improve, others will not be as resilient. 5. This novel has a lot of ground to cover, it is neither a short story, a manual on crafting, or the script of some action scene. There will be both time skips and oversimplifications of some actions for the sake of moving the story forward. Time skips will be more prominent in the first 30 chapters. I will describe crafting processes and fights with more detail if they are essential for the chapter; 6. If I took my time describing something, it's because it is important. I hate novels that waste time describing useless stuff. If you skim over something, the chances are that something in the future will not make sense. I am an adept of "Chekhov's gun" principle; 7. I already have 31k words on my auxiliary documents, I have a plan for the story, and I will not be making changes even if someone ends up noticing some foreshadowing and figures out what will happen. The story comes first. 8. I have a wife, a job that demands 9h every day and courses related to my job (lawyer) three days of the week, it's unlikely that I will be able to do mass releases at all. I will have a healthy amount of chapters to be able to post at least 1 chapter every day continually. Don't worry. 9. I will read all the comments. I will listen to all you have to say and will try my best to accommodate demands as long as they do not hamper the path I prepared. 10. There is an arc that spans the entire novel. Each volume will be an arc in itself while progressing a little bit of the main arc. Every arc will have one or more main antagonists. I think that's it! Thank you for reading it all. Have an awesome time reading my first novel!!
