Chapter 630: Sniped!
“Phew! Finally shaken them off…”
“But why would the T-Virus suddenly appear on this island during our mission?”
The players from Storm City were just one mile from the shoreline, near the huge Gobi beach where the first base was located.
The Storm City team was left with just over 30 people and had finally killed those Metal Praying Mantises that had given chase after losing control. They were considered to be temporarily free from being in battle mode since the Rebel Army players were unable to catch up to them after escaping.
However, everyone was a little perplexed at the new situation regarding the T-Virus appearing in the Rebel Army’s team, causing chaos as a result.
Compared with the North City players, the Storm City players were much more familiar with the T-Virus.
Other than the fact that their subordinate city, Silvermoon City, was one of the places of the outbreak, it was also because over ten days ago when the Nine-Star Guild had organized the banquet, a one-time crisis had happened in Storm City involving the T-Virus.
“T-Virus, Biohazard Crisis…” Zi Wei looked deep in thought as she glanced at Feng Luo, Phoenix, and Big Pineapple who were all behind her.
Other people on the team did not know that the movement that night in Storm City was related to Feng Luo and the few of the players from his group, but she understood part of the situation that occurred inside of Silvermoon City during the outbreak.
In her heart, she could not help but make a guess.
“We’ve succeeded.” In comparison, Feng Luo could now heave a sigh of relief.
Just now, this Scout Beetle was just a Normal-Grade Scout Beetle, but its uniqueness was in the fact that it was the second Scout Beetle that Feng Luo had hatched.
Furthermore, it had been hatched after using the corpse of a Golden Python infected with the T-Virus at Roguetown, where the Biohazard Crisis had first started, to incubate the Scout Beetle’s egg.
This Scout Beetle had a one-time special skill, “Infect,” and was able to give the bitten target a certain rate of being infected by the T-Virus. However, the system did not clearly state how small the rate of infection was.

Although he had tapped on this killer mace, Feng Luo was still a little worried about whether it would be able to work. After being out of luck for quite a while today, at least there was a last bit of luck still on his side.
“What’s the point of stirring the T-Virus in now? It’s a good thing anyway.”
“Right, who cares about it? Those Rebel Army NPCs don’t have the energy to chase us now. As for those Rebel Army players, if they did dare to come near, they’d just be giving us free loot!”
“Now, we just have to drag on for a few more minutes, return to the warship, and our mission would be considered complete!”
There was no conclusion about why the T-Virus would suddenly break out in the Rebel Army, but the Storm City people did not bother to care about this question anymore, having happy faces instead.
Having shaken off the Rebel Army, everyone present should be able to peacefully return to the warship and become the ultimate winners of this mission.
“Crack, crack!”
“Bazoom!”
“Da, da, da!”
Just when many of their faces showed happiness, a few flares were shot above their heads suddenly.
A bunch of bullets formed a dense bullet wave as they flew towards their direction. Among which, there were several submachine gun bullets, sniper rifle bullets, and over 100 machine gun bullets per second.
The area of sudden bullet coverage enveloped the entire team within it, creating a situation that caught everyone off guard.
Several “cracking” noises sounded from the surface of Feng Luo’s body as the Energy Beetle Forcefield that had absorbed a lot of damage broke upon absorbing up to another 100 machine gun bullets.
Even though many of the Energy Beetles Feng Luo summoned through 24K had psionic forcefields, they were instantly shot dead by the flying bullet hell.
Although the defense power of Energy Beetles was very strong, they were about as weak as Scout Beetles. After being exposed, they essentially did not have much resistance ability against physical attacks compared to other beetles.

“F*ck me, it’s the North City people!”
“This bunch of brats!”
Being attacked by the sudden bullet mirage, there were immediately more than ten white lights of death that flashed from the Storm City team.
The Storm City players had discovered the opponents from whom the attacks came, and they gritted their teeth cursing as they dodged the hundreds of bullets flying towards them.
At the first research base over 100 meters away, after having been cleared of Hypertoxic Lizards at the start of the night’s mission, there were at least 20 or more firearms pointed in this direction, madly firing.
The North City players had used this process when battling with the Rebel Army previously to circle to the front and enter the first base to lie in ambush, and thus this sudden attack.
This round of attacks alone had killed one-third of the remaining players from Storm City.
The North City people were not something those people in the Rebel Army could compare with, as they would not be inferior to the Storm City people regardless of equipment or ability.
With this dense bullet attack, the Storm City players could not engage in a counterattack, and could only immediately split up into the forest at the sides of the bullet mirage while using the tree cover to dodge the attack.
However, the North City people were too vicious.
Under the impact of the wave of bullets, the tropical shrubs that were not strong were quickly reduced to bits and pieces.
[“Notice: Current holders of the Core equipment: Sword Ki Long River, coordinates…Ten Mile Tiger, coordinates…Feng Zhi Luoye, coordinates…”]
Besides, the system’s new round of public announcements sounded right at this time.
“Da, da, da…”
The moment the system announcement came on, the number of bullets shot towards the positions of Feng Luo, Sword Ki Long River, and Ten Mile Tiger increased by multiple folds.
“-334, -356, -377…”
Even Feng Luo, after being hit by over ten bullets in an instant, lost a few thousand health straight away. However, this was not lethal.
“Ping!”
“-3556!”
Just when Feng Luo stood up quickly to leave the coordinate-marked region, his thigh was heavily hit by a sniper rifle bullet with a flaming blue tail suddenly. His Rare-Grade SUV combat uniform was shot through by a special bullet, a weak-point damage coefficient of more than 3500 emerged above his head, and there was a bone-breaking sound at the same time.
[“You have been hit, entering “fractured, bleeding” state…”]
A system message instantly flashed. Feng Luo’s entire left leg was stinging in pain and he instantly collapsed after just standing up.
“Injured!” To average players, suffering such an injury in such a situation was fatal.
This kind of injury was not healable by a simple Blood Tonic. It required going to a hospital or medical pod to be able to be completely healed.
“Ping!”
After Feng Luo had fallen to the ground, the second bullet was fired.
“-5578!”
The damage of this bullet was instantly one level higher; hitting Feng Luo’s back and causing red lethal damage, causing his health to fall below 40%.
“An expert!” Feng Luo’s heart sank.
He had charged into the forest first thing and was moving right now. This situation of being hit straight in the leg was very difficult even though there were flares in the sky.
However, the North City Sniper on the other side had done it, reducing his health by half with two consecutive shots in addition to the damage from other players from before.
If it was not for his health being high enough, any other Sniper player would have been slain with the extent of damage from these two bullets.
“Is it that brat?” In Feng Luo’s mind appeared that North City Sniper who had almost one-shot killed Frontline Command previously when enemy-baiting.

Monsters, magic, dungeons, bandits, and all that good stuff is there, except it turns out to be much different than Jed initially expected.(I picked some generic tags since this is my first story and I am not 100% sure where it is going to go. Mature warning is only there for some less-than-polite language.)
