Chapter 425: Solo Sniping Operation

Digital Cat would never underestimate 24K’s strength just because it did not look like a combat-type pet . She knew that 24K was not your average pet, especially with the expression currently on Big Pineapple’s face . His joy and admiration conveyed the message all too clearly .

“24K, that little guy, I also forgot! Captain Feng, your pet sure is invincible . ”

After hearing Big Pineapple’s words, Phoenix, who was on the other building far away also spoke on the channel . “You can actually fly now…”

Feng Luo laughed and commented, however, his focus was also on 24K .

24K’s flying skills had always been dreadful, normally it could only glide a few meters after working hard to flap its tiny wings . Now, it was clearly flying much more stable, probably due to its most recent evolution .

It was rare for him to use more than one Scout Beetle at a time . The reason, as the Psionic Energy consumption for summoning Scout Beetles was too high . Plus, the longer the distance, the more Psionic Energy consumed .

The consumption rate of three Scout Beetles was definitely higher than the consumption rate of 20 Blade Beetles .

By the time the Scout Beetles reached around a hundred meters from the building, Feng Luo accidentally discovered something . The Psionic Energy consumed for the long-distance control of the Scout Beetles had decreased . At a distance of a hundred meters, the energy consumed was the same as when the distance was 50 meters .

“Could it be 24K’s evolution this time not only provided it with mental attack skills but also enhanced the mental link’s strength?” Feng Luo guessed in his mind .

He quickly gathered his thoughts and guesses and switched his vision to another Scout Beetle that was heading towards the sky .

Among the other two beetles that flew in the other direction, the one that was closer to the location instantly flew straight towards that location .

After around half a minute, Feng Luo could observe the situation much more clearly .

A large Tyrant roared as it was lying on the ground as a NPC wearing scientist garments, who was protected by members of Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group, was manipulating a device . On the ground, a red mechanical spider was crawling towards the Tyrant .

“Red mechanical spider?” Feng Luo’s thought as he watched .

That “creature” also appeared in the Resident Evil game on Earth . Wesker even used it to control a character called Jill .

By the time the red spider inserted its eight limbs into the Tyrant’s chest and made the roaring Tyrant quiet instantaneously, Feng Luo knew that the spider had the same function that he imagined .

“This is really efficient . ” Feng Luo looked solemn . After the Tyrant was successfully manipulated, the group quickly turned around and headed towards another location . On the ground of their next destination, another Tyrant was struggling on the ground . The process took less than a minute .

“We definitely cannot let them be . ” Feng Luo thought .

However, it was very obvious that Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group knew the importance of this operation, as this was crucial to their ability to fend off the Federation camp’s counteroffensive .

While looking through the vision of the Scout Beetle high up in the air, Feng Luo could see all the highest vantage points within a radius of 500 meters and saw that they were all protected by someone from Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group .

Specifically, many of them had Sniper players camping on top of those buildings .

A defensive radius of 500 meters was not considered long-range for Snipers . However, the complex city environment made it that by just defending the 500-meter range, they had effectively blocked off the routes and sight from the ground .

While Feng Luo’s focal length through the Scout Beetle’s vision adjusted to observe closer, Digital Cat was observing 24K munching on the energy crystal on his shoulder . Under her technology spectacles, the teenager looked like she was immersed in thought .

She was remembering the time when she was working on a mission with a few of her classmates back in Withered Desert . It was the scene where she saw Feng Luo’s battle with her talent .

Back then, she was not 100% certain that Feng Luo soloed the Level 38 Desert Rock Lizard Commander since he had a group of monsters that looked like beetles helping him in battle .

When she saw that 24K could summon those beetle minions, her question finally had a definitive answer .

“The situation definitely looks difficult . ” After a while, Feng Luo switched back to his character’s vision .

“Roaring Dragon Mercenary Group has definitely set this mission as a priority . So, it will be quite difficult to stop their mission . This is because…” Feng Luo proceeded to tell the others what he saw .

Digital Cat and Onishi did not ask about 24K even though they did not know the Scout Beetle’s abilities . With their intelligence and experience, they already had a basic understanding of the Scout Beetle’s abilities .

As they heard Feng Luo’s brief, they could not help but frown .

“But, it’s not like there’s nothing we can do,” Feng Luo said . “It’s clear that they still need to protect the NPC from the Umbrella Corporation to manipulate the mecha spiders to control the Tyrants . This is probably the only solution path that the system left for us .

“If we can kill that NPC, we can probably impede them or at least slow down their rate of controlling the Tyrants . This will be quite difficult since their defensive range is quite wide . Apart from Onishi and myself, the rest of you have no chance of getting close . ”

Feng Luo looked at the two inside the room . “However, Onishi needs to scout for information on the base, and we need at least one person with scouting abilities here . My suggestion is to split up . Big Pineapple will protect Digital Cat and try to infiltrate the city’s surveillance system . Phoenix and Onishi will continue to gather intel on the secret base . ”
