Chapter 392: Reality, Hidden Data
Chapter 392: Reality, Hidden Data
Star Federation 17th Administrative Planet, noon .
“Ugh…”
Feng Luo opened his eyes from within the silver-white modern game capsule and frowned, scanning across the area above the game capsule .
“What happened? Wasn’t I in Silvermoon City? Why did I log out of the game? Also, the time doesn’t seem right?”
The rotation period of the 17th Administrative Planet was quite similar to Earth, as it also used a 24-hour calculation method .
The in-game time had a slight deviation when compared to real-world time . If it were within the game, it should have been around eight in the morning at that moment, since the time the biohazard crisis event started was around eight in the evening the day before .
Feng Luo had a slightly serious expression as his incredibly active mind started to recall last night’s memory .
“When we started the operation last night from Silvermoon City, I used the authorization chip to operate the six-barreled electromagnetic railgun to stop the advances of the zombie horde . I was infected by the mutated Evolution Virus, so I was feeling very dizzy… When everyone successfully retreated, I seemed to have received some sort of notification . Then, I entered a dreamlike trance… Everything turned blank, as if I had fallen asleep . ” Feng Luo’s brows knitted tightly together, recalling when he had experienced something similar before .
After being infected by the Evolution Virus for the first time on Silver Leaf Island, he fell asleep for two hours, and even dreamed about returning to Earth .
At the time, he did not think much about it and figured it was probably the game system’s simulation device stimulating his nervous system after he was infected by the Evolution Virus, and it was because his brain was too sensitive that these problems appeared; he remembered someone mentioning something like that before on the forum .
Additionally, when he went to the gym in Nightless Entertainment City and used the most technologically advanced medical device to check himself, he did not detect any anomalies, leading him to stop paying attention to it .

Now it had happened again for a second time, due to him being infected by the Evolution Virus in-game .
“Could it be that, similar to the first time, my sensitive brain received strong stimulation?”
Feng Luo looked confused, having some suspicions in his mind .
Theoretically speaking, a program that stimulated players’ brains, which caused negative effects would have produced logs in the main computer of War, and the issue would be resolved never to happen again .
With the technological capabilities of War, it shouldn’t fail to do something as simple as this .
“Then, this situation is definitely abnormal…”
Truth be told, Feng Luo definitely placed more emphasis on War than other players .
The game had all kinds of weapons and cultures that came from Earth . They even had immersive experiences that surpassed the technology of the Star Federation . War was not a simple virtual game .
When it came to Feng Luo’s worries, they weren’t so serious . War is promoted by the Star Federation to every citizen, even if there were unique things about the game, it should not threaten the lives or health of the player .
“I can even say that, after the stimulation from the Evolution Virus the last time, my mind has become more active and agile . Even my memory and calculation ability have increased a lot . ”
Feng Luo was in deep thought . With regards to “increasing his mind’s activity” or “mind’s processing speed,” he had already confirmed it .
Although he was a Sniper prior to entering the parallel world; his marksmanship, accuracy, and calculation skills were all top-notch, but they were still in a regular range .
Not including the nation’s military that had all sorts of hidden experts, even the international mercenary industry he was in, Feng Luo knew of three to four others who were at the same level as he was .
However, after entering the game, due to continuous training and kills, his sniping skills had improved quite significantly, and he made several breakthroughs throughout . That was how he was able to achieve the results of “taking out two birds with one shot” achievement during the duel between Black Panther on the rocking boat during the Silver Leaf Island mission . Even then, those were still considered achievable by a normal human .

During the Silver Leaf Island mission, he fell into a deep slumber after being infected by the Primary Evolution Virus . After he woke up, he noticed that his mind processing speed had become considerably faster, and his calculation and memory abilities had also become incredibly amazing . His arm muscles, finger’s dexterity, and vision had also improved; all beneficial abilities for Snipers .
In one short month, he felt his marksmanship improve again . In some sense, he had even reached a “superhuman” level in the game .
His body had gone through some changes in reality, though not as crazy as inside the game .
Apart from his increased brain activity, he had also conducted an experiment inside the gym of the Nightless Entertainment City a few days earlier . His punching strength had reached a “1,200 standard impact” level . For reference, this was the highest point that the best boxers in the world who had taken illegal drugs could reach .
“Is this sort of sleep a good thing?” Feng Luo shook his head and asked himself with a frown .
His eyes inadvertently darted to focus on the transparent floating screen displaying and recording his physical stats while inside the game capsule .
“Oh, I almost forgot, War’s game capsules have incredibly detailed medical detection capabilities and treatment functions . It should be connected to the main supercomputer of the 17th Administrative Planet as well as the branch medical computer; to avoid dangerous situations from culminating when players are playing the game . I only need to check the data the game capsule recorded to understand my body’s current condition . As long as I check the historical data, I’ll also know my condition when I was asleep . ” Feng Luo suddenly thought and quickly opened up the game capsule’s intelligent program to check his data for the past few days .
[Heart Rate Peak: 1,030/min . Reference Value: 30 – 200 . ]
[Brain Activity Rate: 29 . Reference Value: 1 – 10 . ]
[Muscle Cell Metabolism Index: 31 . Reference Value 1 – 10 . ]
[Static Energy Consumption…]
…
Abnormal data, and these weren’t ordinary abnormalities . Feng Luo was dumbfounded as he looked at the data .
At least two-thirds of the data were “in excess,” which wasn’t just a few times over . Specifically, his heart rate when he was asleep had reached over a thousand per minute . This was definitely not normal .
“That’s not right; all these super abnormal physical data have been recorded . Did the game capsule not notify the medical supercomputer?”
Based on normal procedures, when his heart rate reached an abnormal level the night before the game capsule should have already sent the medical supercomputer a report . He should have woken up to a medical capsule for severe medical emergencies .
“What’s going on?”
Could it be that his game capsule was broken?!
“Beep!”
[Assessing authorization based on your body’s situation… You have received level one Hidden Data Query Authorization . ]
At that moment, a female voice came from the game capsule, and a bunch of data that Feng Luo had never seen before started to appear .
[Seventh Brain Domain Development Rate – 0 . 95%]
[Known Hidden Gene Fragment Unlock Rate – 0 . 224%]
…
[S-1 Fragment Hidden Gene Unlock Completed – 100%]
[N-5 Fragment Hidden Gene Unlock in progress – 12%]
…
[Your body is currently normal . No need to worry . ]
[Note: Hidden data can only be queried by the affected person . No other organizations (including Federation Government, Star Gaming) or persons (Including the Federation President) can obtain the information . ]

A Titan's Crusade
Erik Thayne spent most of his life being brutally ridiculed and tormented for his weight and physical appearance, among other things. A social pariah and diagnosed with an eating disorder no one has an explanation or treatment for, Erik spent years trying to overcome his issues with his personal image and escape the ridicule and vicious torment of his peers. After years of dedicated effort, and a fresh start in a town away from his childhood and adolescent tormentors, he had finally begun to truly realize what he'd been striving for all along. Only, fate apparently has other plans because in the blink of an eye, Erik found himself snatched from Earth and taken to another universe, another world, where he is offered the chance to be more than he'd ever imagined. Now, he has to fight to restore the Balance between Chaos and Order on a world of swords and magic, in a universe governed by the System's laws, which resemble those of RPGs from Earth. Erik learned to embrace the things about himself that others taught him to hate, using them to reforge his physical identity into something more removed from his old self-loathing. But can he learn to embrace the darkest parts of his mind just as he did the reviled aspects of his body and become who he needs to be to succeed in the task set before him? It might just prove easier to stalk in the dark as a monster than to walk in the light as a man... *This is my first time publishing anything I've written to a public audience. Due to formatting issues, I forwent traditional stat-screens for something a little less problematic, delineating stat screens by separating them from regular text with horizontal lines in a lighter-grey coloration. Let me know if you like them or not. Criticism is entirely welcome, but please don't hate on my work after only reading 1 chapter. This is a writing project I intend to complete but I have committment problems so we'll see how long this goes on. Also, fair warning, as the description implies, the main protagonist is intended to be someone who has been treated cruelly, developed antisocial tendencies, and ultimately has to question his own humanity--or lack thereof. This story is not intended to be brutally dark but I will definitely be trying to follow a darker theme. It is intended to be violent and some scenes later in the story might be...alarming. There will likely also be some light, non-graphic (think more implied with crude jokes and conversation than actual details, there will be no full-blown sex scenes)relationship scenes planned later and if you're opposed to either a bisexual or gay main character, stay away. I haven't yet decided which way he's going to swing but the odds on him being straight are relatively miniscule, and I've always wanted to write a story about a gay man who basically looks like a lumberjack because who doesn't like giving conventional stereo-types the middle finger? This will NOT be a harem story, and I have no intention to focus on romance over action--it's a consequence of character development where I'm concerned, not the be-all-end-all of the story. The cover-art does not, in any way, belong to me. It was an image titled the Druid King (by duskanmarkovic according to the file name) which I found on Google Images. Until I can get something commissioned, this is the best stand-in image I could find.

Rifts of War
The visions. It was they that told us about our future. They said that we were the true rulers of the world, the spreaders of light, the guardians of the rightious path. The visions gave us signs of a bright new world, one united under a single banner of light. All those who opposed us suffered and here we stand on the top, watching over the world. We thought it would last forever, but we thought wrong. The visions once again spoke to us and gave us insight, but not to glory or power. They spoke of a terrible fate. An enemy from beyond the realm, one that wishes to destroy us all, one that threatens to bring about the end of the light and usher an age of darkness. As its guardians, we could not allow that. And so we decided to strike. Our armies and our mages gather at the great rift that connects our world. No one knew what we would find. Treasures? Rich land? Savage beasts? There was only one way to find out. A/N: The story starts out pretty quick and I know people will say this is a "military p*rn" but that's only the beginning. I really do have much more planned for this book so I can make a true 'war of the worlds' type of deal. So stick around and enjoy
