Chapter 263
Chapter 263: Big Pineapple’s “Death”!
Ping!
Under the dim rays of light, the track drawn across the sky by the Energy armor-breaking bullet with its pale blue light could be clearly seen .
Feng Luo’s position was less than 100 meters from patch of grass .
The speed of a bullet fired from the Barrett was almost 900M/S . This distance would be covered in less than one second . Thus, when T-750 was raising his Alloy Longsword high in the air and had not slashed it down on Big Pineapple, the Energy armor-breaking bullet glowing in pale blue light had already hit a spot below its arm!
Chiang!
With a loud metallic sound, Hunter T-750’s body was uncontrollably knocked to the right by the force of the bullet . A deep, seriously disfiguring dent the size of an entire fist appeared in the small area below its arm .
With its arm already having been affected quite a lot by Big Pineapple’s attack, its Alloy Longsword slashing onto Big Pineapple’s shield had only caused white damage of less than 300!
“It didn’t pass through?” Feng Luo was staring intently through the sniper scope to see what the outcome would be . Disappointment could be seen in his eyes . His shot did not completely pass through the outer metallic shell layer of the opponent, so had been unable to cause damage to the most vital control chip .
Fortunately, he had long anticipated such a situation, and they were now dependent on Big Pineapple’s reaction speed!
“Hey!”
At that moment, Big Pineapple, who initially had been attacked and outfought by the Hunter, suddenly made a move with a loud yell .
His right hand fiercely brandished his reddish-black Alloy Shield and with a whoosh, it viciously smashed onto T-750’s metallic arm . The robot was still holding its Alloy Longsword which had not yet been withdrawn .
It was the Level 15 Heavy Armored Warrior basic skill – Shield Bash .
Even though this Hunter T-750 was a mechanic monster, this skill of “Shield Bash” had lost its strongest abilities of Taunt and Stun . However, the Shield Bash skill that Big Pineapple had trained to Expert-Level could provide his attack with sufficient charging power enhancement .
With this advantage-taking slam, T-750, which already had a bit of an imbalance due to being hit by the Energy armor-breaking bullet, its arms raising its Alloy Sword naturally had no way of quick retrieval, and at the same time its body had no way of instantly adjusting its orientation .

Feng Luo now needed Big Pineapple to help by filling up the gap in the period between the two bullets fired from the Barrett .
Ping!
The second muffled gunshot sounded following Big Pineapple’s action; there was almost no shift in either of Feng Luo’s hands as he steadily pulled the trigger of his gun .
Dong!
The Energy armor-breaking bullet radiating pale blue light had hit precisely the position of the bowl-sized dent created by the first bullet . The combined destruction of the two C-Grade special firearms had finally torn a hole through the alloy metallic shell of T-750 . The high-speed spinning Energy armor-breaking bullet had viciously drilled through .
Tch!
A mass of Energy flow flashed across Hunter T-750 all of a sudden, while its body which was initially attempting to regain balance had instantly become sluggish .
The red dots in the two metallic skeleton-looking eye sockets of the Hunter had stopped moving and were slowly becoming dimmer .
“Is it finished?” Big Pineapple turned to look, stopping the movement of the Alloy Shield he had initially meant to continue slamming the robot with .
“Technically, it should be successful . ” Feng Luo’s expression was a little uncertain, and the Barrett in his hand was still aiming at T-750 .
One second, two seconds…
The T-750 still maintained its original pose while the red dots within its metallic eyes had already completely vanished .
“Old Feng! Ha, it really is finished . Your shooting! I absolutely give it to you! Although mechanical monsters are hard to beat, it’d be insufficient to say that when faced with a top sniper . With the powerful damage of sniper bullets, and if the shooting was accurate, destroying their Control Core would be easier than for other professions!”
Big Pineapple’s expression had remained alert . He slammed his shield onto T-750 which showed no reaction . Big Pineapple turned to face Feng Luo’s direction as a wretched smile appeared on his face .
But his words were actually a little exaggerated . Snipers indeed had the capability to do such things . But realistically speaking, how many snipers could be found in “War” who would dare to say that they could deliver accurate hits for all shots?
“Is it really finished?” Seeing Big Pineapple’s actions, Feng Luo suddenly looked uncertain . Even though that shot just now logically should have destroyed this Hunter’s Control Core, why did it just feel like something had been missed out?

“Eh, it’s wrong! Why hasn’t there been a system message? There’s a problem! Big Pineapple, retreat!”
Suddenly determining the existence of a problem, Feng Luo quickly yelled to Big Pineapple . However, with more than 100 meters between them, Big Pineapple could not hear his voice at all!
Just as Big Pineapple looked towards Feng Luo, the pair of red dots in the Hunter T-750’s empty black metallic eye sockets suddenly lit once again . They were multiple times brighter than before and were also continuously blinking at a high rate . They were just like the warning lights of the collars on the necks of those people who had been eliminated .
As the red dots were blinking, there was a “snap” sound . A spot at the robot’s stomach area sprung open, and an elliptical object with blue-colored liquid compression energy fell onto the ground .
“An Energy Core!”
Big Pineapple was already aware of the difference in T-750, and his expression had instantly changed as he glanced at the small ellipse-shaped object that had fallen at his feet .
The two of them were no strangers at all to this object; it was thrown at them right before the previous Hunter T-750 had been finished and was something which could cause an enormous explosion – an Energy Core!
The bluish-white liquid Energy in the Energy Core on the ground had already quickly turned bright . Then, with a boom, it exploded into a mass of bluish-white Energy which rapidly twisted in all directions!
“F*ck!” Big Pineapple cried out . There was only time for him to raise the shield in his hand to in an attempt to block the blast .
Thereafter, he was entirely swallowed by the expanding mass of Energy .
After engulfing Big Pineapple and T-750, this mass of Energy was still continuously expanding . It sucked in the burning flames and the large amount of black ash left behind by the burnt bushes in the surroundings .
From Feng Luo’s direction, his vision through the sniper scope had already turned into a mass of reddish-black light .
“Damn it, Big Pineapple!” Feng Luo yelled . He instinctively stood up, still holding the Barrett in his hand . He then engaged “Quick Sneak”, running over to the site of explosion at full force .
The plan this time was set by him, and the two of them ambushing the Hunter T-750 was his suggestion too . Similarly, he was to blame for failing to consider the possibility of such a situation at all, and letting Big Pineapple be in a dangerous spot . If Big Pineapple had died, Feng Luo really had a responsibility he could not shirk .
Falling a level and having equipment exploded were just small matters . What was more important was the fact that once dead, Big Pineapple’s agent transfer mission would clearly fail .
That would be hard for anyone to accept .
Was the chance of Big Pineapple being finished by this explosion high? It was very high, of course . The likelihood of him having being killed was close to 100%!
When the Energy Core of the previous T-750 had exploded, Big Pineapple’s position was a distance of a few meters from the center of the explosion, and at the same time he had engaged “Unmovable Mountain”, the Level 40 Heavy Armored Warrior defense move . He had still been reduced to a “heavily injured” state with less than 5% HP left .
This time, he was even closer to the center of the explosion, with “Unmovable Mountain” already used up previously to pin down T-750, and he was now still in the process of cooldown . Therefore, the chance of Big Pineapple surviving this explosion was pathetically low .
Feng Luo’s face was as grim as could be . The speed of his running at full force with the “Quick Sneak” skill engaged far exceeded that of normal players .
In less than 10 seconds, he had already run to the edge of the patch of grass . Soon, due to the dispersal of the ash and flames, the initial chaotic sight became slightly clearer .
Cough, cough…
“F*ck, are you kidding me? Even with the Control Chip demolished, it could actually still self-destruct?”
A silhouette, its face full of all sorts of soil, vegetation and black ash, suddenly emerged from a pile of soil which had been exploded into a bowl shape, looking really battered . From the cursing coming from him, it could at least be seen that his condition was not that bad!

Dragon: Birth of an Ancient
Deep in a secluded forest, within the depths of a long forgotten cave, an unnatural silence that has reigned for little over a million years is shattered as a hatchling takes its first breath. To the various species that called this world, one of seven, home, the matter seemed beyond insignificant. The hatchling, like all monsters, had no divine backing and with its age, could only be considered a lesser existence. A being to be used by the Chosen and noble monster bloodlines in their never-ending pursuit of power, fame and immortality. However, how could any of the short-lived races, Chosen and Monster alike, know that the tiny, weak, lizard-like creature was much more than it seemed. That it was an entity only spoken of in myth and legend. From a species that their ancestors, with the backing of the Gods, paid a huge price to remove. A heretical existence that threatened the fragile peace that had descended upon their world. A Dragon. ==== ** Cover done by the amazing Felix!*** I am writing this story for a friend who is currently in hospital and in a very precarious situation. He gave me the plot/ concept and, after my own health issues, I wanted to try and brighten his day and provide a distraction from the monotony of their hospital stay. I am posting it on RRL mainly in case anyone else can find enjoyment from the story and to show the readers of my other stories that I am not permanently MIA (and will 100% return to those stories in the future).

Sarsaparilla's Scary Super Power. Completed
Sarsaparilla is an older teenage girl living on Mars. And, like many other young people around her, she has a super power. Or, rather, she is supposed to have a super power. Only she has never been able to activate it, she doesn’t even know what her super power is. This annoys her, tremendously. But she hides this behind a really sweet smile. Adalace is another teenage girl, also on Mars. She knows what her own super power is, and it is quite a good one. She is also really cute… so long has she keeps her feelings under control and doesn’t let out anything from her dark past. Teylon is a man, currently living on Earth. He likes to think of himself as still young, even if he is over fifty. He’s a bit smug about his successful career and is thinking of retiring… until a sadly unfortunate event leads him to the conclusion that he had better immigrate to Mars. Immediately. Apparently, meeting one’s own Angel of Death tends to cause people to make profound changes to their lives… Mars society had better brace itself, because once these three people, plus another three also not so quite stable individuals, collide with each other, the resulting explosion is not going to leave anyone on Mars unaffected. This is another Esmeralda, the Angel of Death, story. It follows on from my previous two such stories, but it is in no way dependent on the previous stories. They can be read in any order. It is fully written and proof read (using Word for Windows, no real editor touched this transcript) and comes to about 247,000 words (about 895 Royal Road pages). It is organized into 50 chapters and I will be publishing them roughly one per day. In my writing, there are multiple characters and multiple points of view. Each change in a point of view is introduced by a header, giving the viewpoint character’s name first, and possibly a title. Inside a Point of View section, dialog in italics represents the Point of View character’s thoughts, while dialog between quotes represent normal spoken dialog. This story is very much inspired by the anime A Certain Scientific Railgun. However I have only taken some elements from the anime, and changed everything I took to make my own story, and so it does not count as fanfiction. Yeah, I know, the book cover page isn’t very good. It’s the best I could do, by tracing over a stock image. The two ladies shown are supposed to be Adalace and Sarsaparilla. Ideally I would have liked there to be two images of this pair, one where they are smiling sweetly and looking cute, and one where they are looking really angry and dangerous. But that totally exceeds my graphics abilities. You will just have to imagine it.
