Chapter 225: 225
Chapter 225: You’re Disturbing My Meal!
Although Belinda’s words were still ambiguous, Locke could see that she was really going to talk to him about work.
“I really don’t have much experience! Tell me! What’s the next step?”
“Take it…” Belinda handed a white feather to Locke.
“This is the feather of Bauer’s Battle Beast, the Sky Pigeon…
“By putting it on your body, it can mark our position!”
Then, she took out a gold ring inlaid with rubies. “This is made by Sean’s Battle Beast, the Golden Cloud Pigeon. Wear it and everyone can exchange information!”
The ring seemed very expensive and it suited the status of the two rich siblings.
However, Locke knew that this mana was not real gemstones and gold.
Belinda continued. “Tomorrow, Bauer and the others will ask around on the streets. After that, the captain will tell us what to do. We shouldn’t be idle. Let’s stroll around Water City and maintain our mobility because we can attack at any time.”
It sounded like a good experience. After Locke put on the ring and said, “Thank you! Then please go back, my dear sister! Wake up early tomorrow! I want to try the famous seafood breakfast in Water City!”
“It’s pretty settled, huh? If other men saw me wearing this late at night, they would’ve already gotten nosebleeds and begged me to stay…” Belinda got up and walked to the door, turning to look at Locke. “If I can’t sleep well, I’ll come and borrow your shoulder again. It’s quite comfortable!”
Locke was too lazy to lock the door since he could not guard against the other party anyway.
8:30 the next morning.
The two of them walked out of the hotel.
They headed toward the restaurant that Locked had mentioned.
To familiarize themselves with the terrain, they did not choose any means of transportation.

They strolled around the beautiful Water City.
The reason why it was named Water City was not only because it was rich in water-type Battle Beasts. It was also because of the sea and the lake water.
On the outskirts of the city was the vast sea and the beach.
In the city, it was connected by all kinds of large and small rivers.
Buildings of different heights were also built according to the water level!
Moreover, there were no vehicles in Water City, only all kinds of boats!
The blue and clean river water was connected with the sky.
It made people feel happy and relaxed.
They came to the long-awaited riverside restaurant.
They enjoyed the scenery of the city while eating seafood.
It was very enjoyable.
“Wow! You’re really rich! This restaurant is very expensive!” Belinda picked up a piece of lobster meat. The delicious food made her unable to stop her hand and mouth.
Locke smiled and said, “It’s just a small amount of money, you don’t have to be so polite! If you need anything, just order! Waiter! Give me another deep-sea arowana sashimi…”
Although this restaurant was very expensive, it was not worth mentioning to Locke, who was worth ten billion.
“Generous men are really charming…” Belinda habitually winked at Locke.
“Please be more professional. We’re siblings now…” Locke said unhappily.
Just as the two of them were chatting and laughing, the two people who were approaching in the distance made Belinda frown.
“Hello, beautiful! Long time no see!”
The two men in beach shirts seemed to know Belinda. They greeted her loudly with a smirk on their faces.
“They’re from the Second and Third Divisions. They’re working together. They must be plotting against us again…” Belinda said quickly.
“Waiter! I don’t know these two. Please ask them to leave!”
“Don’t be like this, Belinda! We’re friends after all!” The silver-haired man did not stand on ceremony and sat down on the chair next to Locke.

“Do you have any good information to share?” The other person stared at Belinda’s upper body.
“Go away! I was used by you before but it’s impossible in the future. Everyone does their own thing and doesn’t interfere with each other!” Belinda wanted to get angry but due to the influence, she endured it.
The silver-haired man shook his head slightly. “Hey! Why bother! But thanks to the information from your previous mission, we received a lot of money! Otherwise, we wouldn’t have had the money to come here! Right! Who is this guy? He looks like he’s only twenty years old? I say, Captain Miles, seriously, if we really can’t find any new members, we can just bring all of you to join the Second Division!”
“Hahahaha…”
Another guy stared at Belinda with lecherous eyes and said, “It doesn’t matter if we don’t have any information! Anyway, everyone is still in the investigation stage and we have a lot of time! Belinda, let me invite you to my hotel to play? I’ve prepared a lot of interesting things and you’ll definitely like them! Hehehe.”
These words were very unpleasant to hear.
Not only did they insult Belinda but they also insulted the First Division.
Miles was at least a captain. Why was there a need to join the Second Division?
Belinda was so angry that her hand holding the fork started to tremble.
“Get lost! You’re disturbing me and my companion eating…” Locke did not even look at them and warned.
Obviously, the three of them did not expect Locke to say such words.
“Locke! Let’s go!” Although Belinda was unhappy, she knew very well that things would end up ugly if they continued to stay.
If there was friction between the teams during the mission, it would be difficult to explain to the higher-ups.
They might even be dealt with by the royal family.
The two men shouted, “Brat! Watch your mouth! Be careful, I’ll deal with you when we get back!”
“Get back to the hotel, I’ll accompany Belinda…”
Belinda had seen Locke’s temper before!
She knew that Locke was about to get angry, so she quickly said, “Locke, let’s go. If there’s a conflict during the mission, it won’t be easy to explain when we get back!”
After saying that, she stood up and held Locke’s hand.
Who knew that Locke would be the first to pull her hand out, smiling, and saying, “Sit down, there’s still the king crab that hasn’t been served yet…”
“Bang!”
“Bang!”
Just as Locke was speaking, a silver light flashed in front of Belinda’s eyes!
Those two fellows were sent flying into the river more than 20 meters away by some unknown force!
Belinda slowly sat down with a face full of surprise. The scene earlier was too fast and she kept replaying it in her mind.
“Ah…!”
“It hurts!”
The two fellows drilled out of the water, their faces burning with pain!
The corners of their mouths were full of blood!
As for what had happened earlier and who had beaten them up, they could not figure it out either!
However, they could hear a small, indistinct hiss!
Out of the corner of their eyes, they saw silver and red light flashing past!
After they covered their faces and climbed ashore, they checked their injuries.
They discovered that half of their faces had been slapped with red marks!
Upon closer inspection, there seemed to be some snake-like scale patterns!
“It must be a Battle Beast! But it’s so fast! What Battle Beast did it?”
The silver-haired man suddenly said the words, Spatial Movement!

NOTE: A review on this fiction has indicated that certain themes were traumatizing. While I believe this to be exagerated, I have added the appropriate tag for those who may be sensitive to those themes (fever dreams, delusions, and trials and tribulations).

One to wander the realm in search of power, to protect themselves and what they believe in. They know their path to be the only one. Writers note: The first chapter will set the standard in terms of mood for the remainder of the story. It also comes to no surprise to me that half the people who read the first part stop reading any further. It has quite a bit of the good ‘ol ‘ultra-violence’ mixed with a great deal of realism. As much as I could fit into it from my own knowledge and experience in the elite forces. The first few chapters will be slow, after, but starting from ‘Restless Destroyer’ the remainder of the world will start to open up, and when we hit ‘Adronitis’ the prologue is largely finished. The novel is well thought out and filled with hidden lore, culture, history. So even if my word choice appears random – it’s not. There is a reason why these chapters take as long as they do. Vermodalen is fantasy adventure, with magic and heroics in an as realistic setting as I could fit. Things are rarely what they seem, and the ugly nature of people bleed through the letters at the turn of every page. I hope you can give this story a fair chance, even if it isn’t immediately to your taste. Lastly, english isn't my first language. It isn't my second one either. So, if you find errors in grammer and spelling, wordplay and sentance building, do let me know, and you will be rewarded by a surge of dopamine that will be released inside your brain for helping someone whom you haven't even seen or heard.

There were no boundaries, it was endless, nothing to indicate that there was something within the distance. He grasped his hands and looked upwards towards the sky as he lifted his hands up. A dark void appeared in front of him, but only to disappear once again. Voices entered his thoughts, pain struck his head, he gripped onto his hair and groaned in agony. He looked forward and saw an image blurred in front of him, fading in and out. “Young one... “ the blurred image simply spoke. The young boy didn’t say anything and only looked down at his wound on his chest. It was a large gaping hole that passed through him, however there was no blood spilling out from it, the veins and arteries only dangled in place where a heart was supposed to be. Realising the cause of this scene the boy asked. “Am… I dead?” “Hahaha, no not at all.” A wispy tired voice simply chuckled “Then… what do you want with a dead man… but my hands...boy?” “ Well Do you…” “Do I?” “Want to change fate?” Welcomed edits and suggestions.
