Chapter 169: The Extremely Surprised Diana
“Wow! What is this?”
“So cool!”
“So domineering…”
“This Battle Beast is amazing…”
Amidst the citizens’ exclamations…
A spear-wielding, skeleton-horse-riding skeleton knight that towered over two meters appeared before Locke.
“Interesting…” Locke’s interest was piqued once again. Locke cracked his neck, and retracted two of his Battle Beasts, leaving only Infinite Fire Element behind.
He had already activated his Fire God’s Armor and he was holding a flaming spear in one hand.
To the civilians, Locke and the skeleton knight were like ancient nemeses who had come face to face with each other once more!
The skeleton knight spurred his horse forward.
Both sides had officially entered a melee battle!
Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang…
The intense battle made the blood of the audience boil with excitement. Despite that, they still licked the ketchup bottle in their hands every now and then.
Although the skeleton warriors’ attacks looked powerful…
Locke, who possessed tier-2 Body Tempering and Fire God’s Armor, was completely unharmed.
“You’re pretty good…” Although Douglas maintained a calm expression, he was panicking deep down.
He knew his Battle Beast’s strength better than anyone.
The series of attacks that it unleashed earlier was a result of years of practice.
Up until now, no one had ever withstood the barrage of attacks!
Locke was the first person to ever do so!
However, Douglas was someone who took a fancy to Beastmasters, and thus, he also loved intense battles!
After calming himself down, he once again gathered the mana within his body to strengthen his skeleton knight!
The Skeleton Knight looked down from above.
It brandished its spear and purplish-black rays of light began to rain down from the sky!
Boom!
The new light rays were just as strong, if not stronger than the previous Hellfire Cannon’s light rays!

It struck the dead center of Locke’s chest!
The powerful impact of the attack had stirred up a cloud of dust!
Locke was pushed back a dozen of meters!
“It’s over…” No one had ever survived Douglas’ ultimate move before. He was certain that Locke had perished.
After silently mourning in his heart, he turned around and walked towards his master.
“Well done…”Armstrong’s lips curled into a smile, pleased that Douglas had managed to overpower Locke.
“Dear… You promised me that once I kill Locke, you would share a bed with me, right?” Armstrong stretched his hand towards Alice’s thigh.
Slap!
Alice slapped aside Armstrong’s hand. “Take a closer look!”
Armstrong was about to fly into a rage, but when he turned around, he found that Locke was still standing there unscathed after the dust had dispersed.
“No… Impossible! No one has ever taken on this move and lived!” He widened his eyes and looked at the unbelievable scene.
The citizens gasped in surprise as well.
“How… How did he survive?”
“Impossible! We’re standing so far away and yet, the shockwaves from the attack had almost blown us away! There’s no way Locke had come out unharmed…”
“I could’ve sworn that Locke didn’t use any spatial abilities…”
“I saw the attack striking his chest! There’s no way I was wrong! I saw it with my very own eyes!”
The citizens were still grasping at straws at what had happened. However, Douglas was different, he had already noticed the faint fiery layer enveloping Locke’s body.
He was certain that the layer of flame was responsible for Locke’s tough defense.
“Douglas, disappoint me one more time, and you’ll become my next test subject!”
Heeding his master’s order, Douglas called forth almost every ounce of mana in his body.
The golden light enveloping the Skeleton Knight’s shone intensely!

The Battle Beast had gone berserk!
It rushed forward in an attempt to break Locke into pieces!
However, Locke effortlessly sidestepped the skeleton knight’s charge like a matador dodging a bull.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
It fired four rays of purplish-black light at Locke!
Immediately after unleashing the light rays, it brandished its spear and charged forward!
Clang!
Both sides were engaged in close-ranged combat once more.
It had been a long time since Locke had worked up a sweat. As such, he was thoroughly enjoying himself in the fight!
“They’re already fighting!” The three directors finally arrived at the scene.
Tristan looked at the two sides that were fighting. “It’s an undead! And it’s a gold colored skeleton at that! It’s an extremely rare Battle Beast…”
“Locke! Hurry up and wrap up the battle!” Jacques shouted at the top of his voice. After briefly observing the battle, Jacques was certain that Locke was toying around with his opponent again!
After all, with Locke’s current level of strength, he would have no issues squashing his enemy.
However, Diana’s response was different from her peers’. After a moment of being stunned, she immediately pushed Jacques aside and shouted at Locke,” Locke! Don’t kill him! Whatever you do, don’t take his life!”
Diana’s shout stunned the two directors!
‘What?’
‘Is she saying that just because he’s a little handsome?’
‘What’s up with Diana today?’
‘It’s one surprise after the next!’
After a few minutes of playing around, Locke was starting to get bored.
However, he did not want to kill the skeleton knight because there were no longer any undead Battle Beasts in the academy. He wanted the Battle Beast to live so that he could study it.
Therefore, he decided to accept Diana’s request.
Locke began to accumulate mana!
After spotting an opening in the skeleton knight’s defense, Locke launched two punches and struck the Skeleton Knight onto the ground!
Locke’s terrifying strength had made everyone subconsciously shrink their necks!
Once it was knocked down, the skeleton knight struggled to get back on its feet.
It seemed to be lacking in mana, and that was indeed the case!
Undead-type Battle Beasts consumed a lot of mana, after all!
At this point, Douglas had already exhausted his mana!
“You piece of trash!” Armstrong took off his coat and stepped forward to face Locke personally!
He kicked Douglas aside and stamped his foot on his face. “What a disgrace! Get out of my sight…”
However, before he could finish speaking, a pair of high heels appeared in his field of vision.
He looked up and saw a pair of terrifying eyes staring at him.
“Who gave you permission to step on his face like this…”
Tristan and Jacques were caught off guard. They did not realize that Diana had already left their side!
What they did know, however, was that they had never seen Diana wear such a terrifying expression before!
Bang!
Armstrong’s vision spun as he was sent flying several meters back!
Crash!
He slammed into his sports car!
“AH… !” The bone in his waist seemed to have cracked, and the pain was gut-wrenching!
To the two directors’ surprise, Diana helped Douglas up!
“Is… Is it really you?”
Douglas was equally surprised!
Diana looked at him gently, grabbed him by his arm, and pulled him back!
Love was in the air.
“No… I can’t…” Although Douglas was somewhat hesitant…
Ever since Diana appeared before him, he had never taken his eyes off of her!
‘Damn! They know each other?!’
‘They seem to be more than friends!’
Many people had tried to claim her heart before, but Diana had ever accepted any of her pursuers!
‘Could it be?!’

Old Version - The First Magician
INDEFINITE HIATUS I always seem to make these too long when I ask for peoples opinions so I’m not gonna try an exciting description anymore but instead just give you an idea of what to expect. First off, this is my 2nd attempt at a story but my foundation for this one is much better than the 1st already and I see this going much further and so far its coming together much faster and easier. So please excuse me if things are not up to publishing standards. Also I tend to confuse your, you’re and so on so sorry to people that triggers ahead of time. The First Magician follows the story of 15 year old Alex in a post apocalyptic rpg-ish world in the near future. Earth was transformed, monsters appeared and people began being able to use Ki but could not figure out how to use magic. Alex ends up becoming the first human able to use magic through a series of events and sets in motion events that will change the very future of the human race. He will be somewhat OP simply because he is the only human (at least to start, who knows about later?) who is able to use mana. Many classic RPG elements have been removed. I didn’t want the story to be like all of the other lit rpg stories on RRL but it also makes the writing easier for me hence the watering down of rpg elements. UPDATES: I am doing this to relieve stress and for fun so I will release chapters when I can. So far though ive managed to keep up with 2 most days. CONTENT WARNINGS: There will be some light language but it won't be insane. I might have some gore later on but am unsure and the same for the sexual content. Sexual content isn't super likely as I doubt I can write it well but I put the tag so people cant yell about it if I add some in the future but forgot to add the tag. COVER ART: Yes it is from the anime Log Horizon. It is a good representation of what earth looks like despite it not being many years in the future. DISCORD: https://discord.gg/s6V3hGV
