Chapter 147: 147
The dragon constantly roared and struck the cage. It was motivated purely by its desire for freedom.
“It’s probably hungry…” Hobrick walked to the wall and tugged at a rope.
The top of the cage immediately opened up, and a pile of items dropped down.
They were gold bars!
The dragon finally calmed down upon spotting the gold bars.
It extended its claws, grabbed the gold bars, and stuffed them into its mouth!
“It eats gold? This thing is too difficult to raise!” It was then that Locke recalled the delivery birds transporting gold bars to the academy.
‘Could it be?’
“Its appetite is very large, and it’ll only grow bigger as time goes by. Traditional banks don’t possess enough gold to feed it, and in order to keep this matter confidential, I’m forced to obtain these gold bars from the black market…”
Locke looked at the dragon that was munching on gold.
He finally understood the old man’s greedy and stingy nature!
‘He had no other choice!’
‘Just how many people on earth are capable of feeding this beast?!’
Moreover, the old man was very cautious. Only a select few people throughout the continent was aware of his secret!
Now that Locke had already learned of the Federal Academy’s secret, John stated, “Locke… The principal has high hopes for you. I hope that you’ll be able to make this dragon yours within the next decade! It would be a great boon to humanity if you could do so!”
Coincidentally, this was also in line with Locke’s desires!
‘The world’s strongest Battle Beast will fall under my command? That’s great!’
‘The next ten years?’
‘My System is the strongest!’
Locke mentally asked the System, “System, how can I tame a Dragon-type Battle Beast?”

[ The host is currently only allowed to control three Battle Beasts. Since the limit has already been reached, the host must upgrade the System! ]
[ 1000 function points are required to upgrade the host’s level! ]
Upon hearing the System’s requirements, Locke’s heart was immediately filled with excitement.
Fortunately, the Battle Beast Treasure Tower had not delivered his order yet. Compared to Gale Wings, the dragon was an even greater priority. As such, he would be using the 1000 Function Points to advance his own level instead!
‘I will make this dragon mine!’
Following this, Hobrick then opened the wooden box in Locke’s hand and took out the Five-colored Dragon Core.
Interestingly, the moment Hobrick brought out the Dragon Core, the dragon that was happily munching on the gold bars immediately stopped.
It immediately walked to the front of the cage and stared at the core.
It was no longer noisy and it became extremely quiet.
“Principal! The Dragon Core is as useful as we expected!” The assistant, John, was very happy!
Hobrick directly threw the Dragon Core to the yellow dragon’s feet.
Its eyes became gentle.
It was like a child that had just received a beloved toy.
The students sighed in relief one after another, and dropped onto the ground to rest.
“They’re the same species, after all. This will placate it for now, but I doubt that it will last more than a month…” Hobrick had come out with the idea after scouring through several ancient text.
“Alright, children, you’ve worked hard. You have three weeks of vacation. I’ve also prepared some allowance for everyone. Go out and enjoy yourselves! But remember…”
The five students said in unison, “We’ll keep this a secret!”
“Hahaha… Yes, such good children… This is no small matter. If someone with evil intentions were to find out about this, the city, no, the Federation itself would come into jeopardy!” All of the Divine Class students had gone through many trials before entering the Divine Class.

Hobrick trusted them, but he could not help but remind them every once in a while.
“Alright, we’ll take our leave for now!”
“Time to go home…”
“I’m going to visit some magic hot springs for my vacation…”
“Let’s go together…”
The students ran out of the door happily.
“So, you wanted the Dragon Core just so they could have a vacation?” Locke asked.
“Yes, they haven’t rested for more than half a year, and due to my deteriorating condition, I can’t maintain the cage alone… The Dragon Core was the only idea I could come up with…” Hobrick explained with a regretful expression.
Following this, the trio then returned to the front hall that looked like a hotel.
Hobrick seemed to be a little tired, so he decided to sleep for a while.
“There are many good rooms here. You can choose one. I’m the butler here, so if you need anything, just look for me.” With this, John then headed to the kitchen to prepare dinner.
Locke chose a room in the corner. It was very spacious, and its facilities were very luxurious.
In his opinion, this was a show of guilt from Hobrick towards his students.
“System, upgrade immediately!”
[ Host’s order received, upgrade in progress… ]
A panel appeared in front of Locke. It contained a progress bar that was gradually being filled!
2%… 5%… 17%… 43%… 76%… 99%…
[ Congratulations, you have successfully leveled up! ]
Locke’s stats were updated:
[ Name: Locke ]
[ Level: 3-star Silver-tier ]
[ Battle Beast: Divine Rank Twin-headed White Jade Snake, Divine Rank Infinite Fire Element, Divine Rank Gale Wings ]
[ Weapon: None ]
[ Skill: Unawakened ]
[ Talent: The host can unlock three new Battle Beast slots every time they advance a tier. (The slots have already been unlocked) ]
[ New Talent Options: ]
[ 1. Subjugation: The ability to subjugate Wild Battle Beasts ]
[ 2. Lucky One: The System will provide the host with 50 Beast Eggs every 2 months. ]
“Option 1! I want to unlock the Subjugation ability!” Locke did not hesitate.
Even a fool would realize how much more powerful a dragon was compared to normal Battle Beasts.
Since the yellow dragon was not under Hobrick’s command, it was considered a wild Battle Beast!
[ Congratulations, host! The new talent has been successfully activated! ]
[ Function Point Balance: 0 ]
Once everything was ready, Locke immediately returned to the place where the dragon was imprisoned.
The moment he walked in, the yellow dragon immediately fixed its gaze on Locke, and it was hugging the Five-colored Dragon Core close to itself.
It was afraid that Locke would try to snatch its treasure from it.
“Don’t be nervous…” Locke kept a calm expression as he approached it.
“Roar!!”
The Yellow Dragon immediately reverted to its violent behavior!
Locke immediately summoned his Fire God’s Armor.
Locke’s body was enveloped by powerful flames!
However, Lil’ Flame was constantly warning him that its defense was being shaved down rapidly!
Locke knew that he would not be able to hold on for long!
As such, he immediately rushed up and touched the yellow dragon’s forehead with his hand!
“What happened? John!?” Upon hearing the dragon’s cry, Hobrick immediately got up from his bed!
