Chapter 145: 145
Locke did not pick up the phone. Instead, he said, “Hmm, I want to own a dragon too, though! Funds, personnel, teaching materials, and even ancient cultivation techniques. Feel free to give me your demands, I’m willing to exchange them for the dragon-summoning materials.”
Horta’s originally amiable face immediately contorted. “Kid, are you playing with me?”
“Who doesn’t want a dragon? You guys are good at scheming. You claim that I’m the one who’s playing you, but in truth, you’re the ones who are toying with me, no!?” Locke snapped.
“So, you’re not going to give up the Dragon Core?”
“If you’re willing to give up those ancient tomes, I’ll consider it!” Locke’s words were aggressive, and it was clear that he had no intention of negotiating.
With his last glimmer of hope shattered, Horta waved his hand, and immediately after, a dozen or so soldiers had surrounded Locke.
“So this is the style of the Military Academy, huh. I see!” Locke looked at the Battle Beasts that they had summoned.
From the glow on their bodies, Locke could see that they were only purple quality at most. As such, he felt no pressure at all.
“Cut the crap! Are you going to trade or not?”
Bang!
Locke kicked the adjutant who spoke out. “You dare threaten me?”
“Everyone, go! Grab the Five-colored Dragon Core!”
Horta shouted, and all of his subordinates ordered their Battle Beasts to attack Locke.
Locke stood up and looked at the trash surrounding him with a contemptuous smile on his face.
Lil’ White unleashed a barrage of Light and Dark Spatial Slashes!
The soldiers and their Battle Beasts were frozen on the spot!
The entire battle did not take more than 15 seconds!
Although the battle did not bring Locke a trace of joy, at the very least, he had gained some knowledge on the Dragon Core.

He decided to interrogate Hobrick about it once he returned.
…
The next day, Peter’s men brought Locke and his teammates to the train station.
A few well-mannered waiters were already waiting for them.
“Mr. Locke, my master has ordered me to wait for you here. The first-class carriage on the return train has already been reserved by my master…”
Following this, two beautiful attendants stepped out.
‘It must be Adelaide’s doing.’
Locke admired his friend even more. He was really meticulous.
Lawrence stared at the two beauties until his eyes went blank!
The three of them chatted and laughed along the way.
Lawrence had ordered a lot of delicious food.
“Locke, we’ll follow you in the future! It’s great to have delicious food and be in the limelight!”
“I’ve already reported the situation to Instructor Tristan. They’re all very happy! They said that you’ve made yet another great contribution!” Rossetti was eating dessert, “There’s another piece of good news! I’ve been promoted to the Diamond Class! We can study together in the future!”
“That’s great!” Lawrence was exceptionally happy with this news. He ordered the attendant to bring over a bottle of red wine.
Locke did not hate these two people. On the contrary, he enjoyed the pieces of knowledge that they provided.
However, he would be promoted to the Divine Class upon his return.
Based on how secretive it was, Locke did not know when he would meet the duo again.
As such, Locke had decided to withhold the news from them.
“Let’s make a toast to this.” Locke grabbed a goblet and drank with his teammates.
…
It was noon when they returned. The three of them were greeted with the directors upon stepping out of the train.
“Welcome back, guys! Also, the principal is waiting for you, Locke!” Tristan had always put business first.

“I’ll treat you to lunch today!” Jacques was still grateful to Locke for saving his life.
“Oh my! Rosetti, your curly hair is so beautiful! Where’d you curl it at?” Diana and Rosetti had a surprisingly good relationship.
Locke handed the wooden box containing the Five-colored Dragon Core to Tristan. “I’ll head home first to report to my family. Once that’s done, I’ll go and find the old man!”
Tristan expression was serious as he carefully took the wooden box.
After having lunch with his parents…
Locke took out his phone and asked the Battle Beast Treasure Tower to deliver his materials so that he could could advance his Gale Wings.
“Sir, we will definitely send the things over to you before 10 pm tonight.”
“Hmm? Aren’t they usually delivered in an hour or so?”
“Uhh… Today is a little special. A customer asked for a lot of things, so our couriers have all set off, so we will be a little late. Please forgive us…”
This was not a big deal. In any case, the dormitory of the academy had yet to be rebuilt, and thus, Locke would continue to live in his parent’s house.
After that, Locke rushed to the academy.
Locke could immediately tell the difference upon entering the academy.
Many students were using their Battle Beasts to participate in the reconstruction of the buildings.
There was even a banner hanging at the main entrance: Welcome Back, Locke!
“It’s Locke!”
“He’s Back!”
“Locke! I’ve prepared desserts and milk for you!”
“You’re really in the limelight this time!”
“Of course! I heard that Bronte was beaten so badly that he got anxiety!”
“I also heard that the trio from Alpha University were grounded upon their return…”
The students crowded around him as soon as they noticed him.
“Alright! Alright! I still have to go to the old man’s place to discuss some matters! Let’s talk again next time…” Locke was unaccustomed to crowds. As such, he summoned Gale Wings to take him away from the area.
Hobrick was waiting for Locke outside his tent.
Noticing that Locke was approaching him, Hobrick chuckled and muttered to himself,” Hehehe… This went even more smoothly than I expected.”
As soon as he landed, Locke asked, “How is it? The conditions have been met, right? Take Me to the Divine Class!”
After attaching the Divine Class’s emblem on Locke’s uniform, Hobrick then led Locke forward.
Although the alley no longer existed.
The old man still remembered its location precisely.
He shouted, “Anthony! Let us in!”
After a few minutes…
A rift in space appeared in front of the two.
“Let’s go!”
Hobrick took the lead and walked in.
Locke followed closely behind.
After entering, he was greeted by a indescribably chaotic sight.
After several turns, they encountered a magical door. Upon entering it, they entered a “house”-like space.
“Why does this place feel like a basement?” Locke looked at the orderly staircase under his feet.
No matter how he looked at it, it seemed to lead to a lower level.
Hobrick grabbed a torch from the wall. “Hmm… Your observation ability is not bad. We are actually under the school!”
It was very quiet. So quiet that the sound of water dripping on the ground could be heard.

Outlook: The Stars (Consciousness Unbound Book 1)
The year is 2152. Rune Yahui is a nineteen-year-old failure, not having gained entrance to college or the military, with no significant prospects in life. Even worse, Rune is the poorest of the poor, hailing from the mega-slums of New Southern Chicago, the lowest pit of America. In a desperate last-ditch attempt to gain a future more lustrous than toiling the rest of his days away in abhorrent conditions in one of the near sweat-shop level factories that dot the megapolis, Rune signs up for the Virtual Citizen program, a program to cull the excessive world population by transferring just their brains into a video game. In a stroke of rare luck, Rune is admitted into the program and happily submits himself to the surgery and digitization process. Unfortunately for him, he wakes up several hundred years later than he expected... or does he? **Author's Note** This isn't a type of story typical to RRL. You may have noticed LitRPG in the tags, but it's a relatively minor element in the story until later. You may also notice Slice of Life is in the tags. This story is going to be slow and there won't be any power tripping until way later if at all. The focus will be on character development. That doesn't mean I won't still have action/excitement, however. I encourage you to give the story a try. Maybe it will be your thing, maybe it won't. Thanks for even taking the time to read this, and if you do give my fiction a try, I hope you enjoy it. If you don't, well, I hope you find something that you do enjoy. Happy reading!
