Chapter 143: 143
Chapter 143: Five-colored Dragon Core
Locke, who had already finished bathing, reclined lazily on the large sofa in the suite’s living room.
He opened the wooden box and held the Dragon Core that was smaller than the size of a palm in his hand.
Locke was trying to categorize the Dragon Core.
However, the System did not answer him, and he was out of ideas.
The Dragon Core did not look like a gemstone, nor did it look like a fossil. He had no clue what kind of treasure it was..
Regardless, Locke could not deny how mystical it looked.
Despite its dark gray shell, every two seconds, it would flash with a different color of light.
Moreover, Locke could feel an indescribable power lingering within it.
“What should I call this thing?” Locke chuckled to himself.
“A Dragon Core is a Dragon Core. There’s no need to generalize it. No other treasure is worth its value…”
A gentle female voice came from behind Locke.
Locke followed the faint fragrance and spotted Rosetti, who had already changed into a high-end gown.
“This dress is really beautiful!” As a man, it was Locke’s duty to compliment how pretty she looked.
Rosetti walked to the front in her high heels and bowed in a ladylike manner. “Thank you… Sir.”
“You mentioned that the Dragon Core was a Dragon Core earlier. Do you mean that a Dragon Core is already its simplest form?”
After sitting down, Rosetti responded, “You’re very smart. That’s exactly what I meant!”
“Also, the dragon core that we won this time is a Five-colored Dragon Core. This is extremely rare.”
“Really?” Locke had a doubtful expression on his face.
“Of course! I know a a Five-colored Dragon Core when I see one. Plus, you can count the number of colors it changes to by yourself. You’ll notice that it alternates between five colors!” Rosetti said with a pout.

Locke looked carefully, and in span of ten seconds, the Dragon Core had alternated between five colors.
It shone with white, green, red, yellow, and blue lights.
It was indeed five colors!
“Naturally! If there exists a Five-colored Dragon Core, there will also be Single-colored Dragon Cores! Each color corresponds to a certain type of element!” Rosetti crossed her arms and explained to Locke.
Locke was no longer interested in the Dragon Core, and instead he was more curious about the girl.
The Dragon Core was never mentioned in the Diamond Class. As such, Locke was curious as to how she knew that much about it. After all, she was a member from the Golden Class!
While observing her gorgeous legs, he asked, “Ms. Rosetti… how do you know so much about the Dragon Core? You even knew about the secret of the dragon-like materials in the black market. You wouldn’t…”
Rosetti’s became nervous once Locke said those words.
While she was coming out with an excuse…
A fat man suddenly pushed the door open and walked into the room!
“Good afternoon, everyone!” A fat man with neatly combed hair and an orange-colored suit appeared before the two of them.
“Wow! Not bad, I didn’t expect there to be a suit that would fit your size, to be honest! And man, you look so neat, I bet Adelaide would praise you!” Locke joked with a smile.
“You look dashing, sir!”
Rosetti seized the opportunity to avoid Locke’s interrogation.
“You look beautiful too, madam, may I have a dance with you later…”
Locke could not be bothered to participate in the duo’s “aristocrat game” and he returned to his room for a quick nap.
…
The banquet hall of the hotel was very nice.
Many of the people present were local officials and aristocrats.
Prior to their victory, they had thought little of the Federal Academy’s students.
However, that was no longer the case, The moment Locke and his teammates appeared, they immediately rushed forward to greet them and hand over their business cards.

Their reaction was nothing out of the ordinary.
After all, strength was the currency that their world had run on!
Noting that most of the attendees were present, Peter then raised his wine glass and walked to the center of the hall. He held the microphone and gave the opening speech.
Originally, Peter wanted to invite Locke to come up and say a few words, but he was quickly rejected by Locke.
Truthfully speaking, such an event was not Locke’s style.
Noticing how embarrassed Peter looked, Lawrence went up and spoke a few words on Locke’s behalf.
Unexpectedly, Lawrence was really eloquent. He even mixed some jokes in his speech, and it had made the attendees laugh.
It was still early for dinner, and since there was too many people around, Locke decided to slip away during Lawrence’s speech. He grabbed a glass of red wine and headed to the garden.
After breathing in a few mouthfuls of fresh air, Locke checked his Function Points.
He had 1,000 points currently.
It was enough for Gale Wings to advance.
Once Gale Wings had advanced, all three of Locke’s divine Battle Beasts would be at least Stage 3, Level 1.
Although he was uncertain where his strength stood within the continent, he was at least confident that he would beat most of his opponents.
“System, what are the materials I need to advance Gale Wings to Stage 3?”
Soon, a sky-blue interface appeared in Locke’s mind:
[ In order to advance, Gale Wings requires 1,000 Function Points as well as the following materials: ]
[ 1.5 liters of Wind-chasing Dye… 27 pieces of Aether Fragments… 37 pieces of Psychic Wood… And 40 Iron Armor Leaves. ]
Following this, Locke then dialed up the Battle Beast Treasure Tower.
The final price of the materials was 2.63 billion federal coins.
Locke was no longer as concerned as before. Moreover, when compared to price of Infinite Fire Element’s materials, it was slightly cheaper.
“I’m in Gold City Now. Can you deliver the goods?”
“You’re a VIP customer. Of course we can! But it will take three days.”
As Locke and the others were heading back the next day, it was too late for him.
“Then let’s talk about it once I return…”
As usual, Locke still paid the deposit first. After all, those materials were extremely hard to come by.
Locke was about to head back and get some more wine when he suddenly heard some movement in the bushes nearby!
He ordered his Twin-headed White Jade Snake to attack!
A few seconds later, Lil’ White returned with a large frog in its mouth.
This frog’s eyes were very big, but beyond that, it did not seem to possess any combat abilities.
‘His master might also be nearby.’ Locke thought to himself as he cleared his throat and shouted, “Whose frog is this? If you don’t come out and claim it, I’ll ask my Battle Beast to dine in!”
Seeing that there was no movement, the two-headed snake threw the frog into the air and opened its mouth wide, ready to swallow it.
At this moment, a person jumped down from the tree and hugged the frog in his arms.
“Whoa! It seems that your frog is a monitoring-type Battle Beast, right?” Locke asked, as he teleported behind the person.
He immediately ordered Lil’ White to entangle the person and his frog.
Locke went forward to take a closer look. The person was a student from the military academy.
He trembled and said, “Mr. Locke, this is my only Battle Beast… Please, let me go…”
Locke responded with a chuckle. “You’ve already lost the competition, so why are you still monitoring this area?”

Jingyi Bo is in Fates Parallel (An Irreverent Fanfiction)
Fates Parallel is a gripping cultivation story, following the adventures of a half-spirit girl with nothing as she grows both as a cultivator and as a person after arriving at the Grand Academy of Spiritual, Martial and Arcane Arts. It features fleshed-out, believable characters, wonderful world-building that informs the course of the plot, and girls who hold hands. Fates Parallel is a very good story, and you should read it! Jingyi Bo is in Fates Parallel is a somewhat tongue-in-cheek look at this same world from a different angle, following a totally regular girl who brings bad luck with her wherever she goes. It features shallow, joke-name characters, a focus on the least interesting parts of a fantastic world, and girls who hold hands (potentially). Jingyi Bo is in Fates Parallel is an amazingly hilarious (so says me) fanfiction and you should read it! (This is a Totally Author Approved Spin-Off (Fanfiction) for Fates Parallel, which you can find in a number of places including here on RoyalRoad! Please do read it!)

Home of Laplace
I opened my eyes to an unfamiliar mountain peak standing tall above me like seeing a skyscraper from the street. Soon the chilling burn of the snow that covered me began to invade my senses and I flung my torso upward, sitting up straight. I grabbed my head in confusion as my eyes surveyed the area around me: The corner of a mountain wall stood menacingly in front of me accompanied by thin, dangerous looking paths on either side. The likes of which only adrenaline-seeking psychopaths would use. I turned my head backwards and felt my heart drop as what looked like an infinitely long freefall met my gaze. I was sitting on the ledge of a snow-covered mountain. "CRKKKK" A heart-shaking croaking sounded from above me further up the mountain and I jolted backwards at the impossibly loud sound. 'Shit, wasn't there nothing behind me?' The sound of cracking stone accompanied the heart dropping sensation of descension. As I plunged down backwards, the last thing I saw was the deep-set brown eyes of that blue-skinned monstrosity further up the mountain. ----------------------------------------------------- Levi Laplace is a former genius biochemistry student that died a simple and laughable death on earth.
