Chapter 142: 142
“Young master, what’s wrong?” An instructor asked upon noticing Andre’s strange expression.
However, Andre was not paying any attention to him.
He was desperately trying to contact his Battle Beast.
However, even after several tries, it was to no avail!
There were only three possibilities for this.
One, his Battle Beast was too far away. Two, the Battle Beast had abandoned him…
And lastly…
His Battle Beast was dead!
“!!! ”
Andre and Augustine were shocked!
The first two possibilities were inapplicable to them.
‘Could it be?’
The two of them hurriedly shouted, “Shaw! Take a look at the situation inside!”
However, Shaw’s face was full of sweat. His mana was nearly exhausted.
He tried hard to squeeze out a sentence. “I…I don’t think I can hold out for much longer.”
Everyone in the preparation area surrounded him, they were unsure what had happened.
“What’s going on?”
“Hurry up and say something, Shaw!”
There was finally some movement on the platform!
Boom!
A loud explosion had attracted everyone’s attention!
They looked up at the source of the noise, and they were immediately shocked by what they saw.
Shaw’s centipede’s head was flung into the air, and a young man with transparent wings and a flaming hammer was levitating in mid-air!
It was Locke!
“God has answered our prayers!” Lawrence put down his praying hands, and his eyes were filled with joy!
Rosetti let out a heavy sigh of relief as her knees buckled.
She collapsed to the ground!
Shaw had noticed Locke’s attempt to break out of the airtight space a long time ago, and as a result, he was constantly expending his mana to strengthen the enclosure.
However, Locke increased his power with every strike, and he was so focused on his task that he had no time to speak!

“I’m feeling drowsy… !” Shaw had fully exhausted his mana, and he fainted!
Moreover, as the centipede’s head was its vital spot, the Thousand-legged Centipede had dissipated as well!
Furthermore, in the center of the combat platform, there were two Battle Beasts that had been split in half!
Everyone gasped.
‘Aren’t they the Lethal Scorpion and Killer Wasp?’
The scene had stunned everyone present, including the knowledgeable secretary-general, Peter!
For a moment, the entire arena was washed over by a wave of silence!
Locke looked at Andre who was kneeling on the ground and said, “This move of yours is so boring! I can’t believe you put me in a cage together with those disgusting bugs! Moreover, they weren’t even attacking me! What a useless strategy!”
‘Useless strategy?’
‘What kind of joke is this??’
‘The move was capable of wiping out tens of thousands of troops on the battlefield!’
‘This man is calling it useless?’
‘Just who on earth is Locke?’
‘Was the poison gas ineffective?’
‘Is a new era coming to the world of Beastmasters?’
Everyone’s minds were filled with questions and excitement!
They racked their brains, but they were unable to figure out how Locke had come out unscathed!
With the Battle Beasts now dead, the poisonous gas within the battle platform had also dissipated.
Locke dispelled his Fire God’s Armor.
Naturally, Locke would keep the secret of his immunity towards poison to himself!
‘I’ll let them guess by themselves!’
“The… The champion of the Three Academies’ Martial Arts Display this year is the Federation’s Advanced Beastmaster Academy!” Peter’s voice spread throughout the entire competition venue through the speakers!
The audience had finally regained their senses at this moment!
The duel had ended in a shocking manner!
Although most were clueless about the truth of the situation…

What was more exciting than the birth of a new champion?
The cheers came like a tsunami!
Countless flowers were thrown onto the platform!
Into the air!
At Locke’s feet!
“Champion! Champion! Champion! Champion! Champion…”
Under the audience’s cheers, Locke and his two teammates gradually approached the main stage.
As the highest ranking official in the stadium, Peter was naturally in charge of presenting the prizes.
“Well done!” Peter took out the Dragon Core, placed it in a small box, and handed it to Locke.
Locke, who was still calm, asked, “Sir, may I know what this item is used for?”
“Hahaha! Bring it back to Hobrick and he’ll tell you!” Peter patted Locke’s shoulder and smiled in satisfaction.
Meanwhile, the people in the Alpha University’s preparation area were still in shock.
They were still clueless as to what had happened!
Shaw, who might have a grasp of the situation, had fainted due to an exhaustion of mana.
Based on their previous experience, it would take a few days for him to wake up.
Andre and Augustine were fuming. They did not understand why their poison attack had failed!
The instructors did not bother to console them. Instead, they brought out their laptops.
After all, their institution was renowned for nurturing poison-type Battle Beasts.
Should news of their poison’s failure get out, their institution’s reputation would plunge.
They immediately offered a bounty of social media.
[ Under what circumstances would poison be ineffective? There is a handsome reward if you can answer this question! ]
[ How can one still kill an epic-rank enemy despite being poisoned? Please answer, it’s quite urgent… ]
This was the first time the instructors had ever encountered such a situation.
“Alright! Children, I will personally send you back to the hotel to rest. Everyone will be invited to a banquet tonight! Hahaha…” Peter accompanied the three of them and left the main stage.
Nevertheless, the students from the Military Academy had not left. As soldiers, they needed to obey their instructors’ orders.
“Instructor, they will be taking dinner with Secretary Peter later. Should we adjust our plans?” One of the students asked for further instructions.
A middle-aged man wearing a military coat stood up. “Of course we should. We mustn’t hurt the secretary. Let’s monitor him for now. We’ll act later.”
Following this, he then looked at the two rows of students standing at attention behind him. “All of you, head back to the hotel and rest. We have an important operation tonight!”
“Understood!!”
Upon returning to the hotel, Lawrence and Rossetti immediately headed for the showers.
Both of them were in a good mood.

A World Forgotten
***This story will contain lite-litrpg elements, mainly character pages and a town page. There will also be settlement building and adventuring, missteps and achievements. But one thing it definitely won’t have is a harem. Nor will it have an overpowered MC. Contains mild cursing.*** ***feel free to critique my writing and offer input. This is my first venture into writing. I've always enjoyed litrpg/gamelit books. I feel like I write how I talk, so it may be a little different. You won't hurt my feelings if you see something wrong or out of place! *** ***What follows is a condensed part of chapter 1. Enjoy!*** Drew Cooper is thrust into a new, unfamiliar world. Waking up in his sweats and t-shirt near what seems to be a forgotten path through some woods, he struggles coming to terms that he's no longer in his apartment. As he tries to cope with his new reality, he hears a horse coming down the path. He hides behind a nearby tree dreading what may happen next. As the horse approaches, he sees a man walking next to it. The horse is burdened with packs and gear. When the man nears, Drew nearly panics. He has a large sword strapped to his waist, obviously a fighter. He continues to hide as the man slowly passes only for the man to stop a dozen meters past his hiding spot. "You may as well come out, ya know. You weren't as well hidden as you thought," the man stated matter-of-factly, letting the horse’s reins go and putting his hand on the hilt of his sword. Slowly and scared for his life, Drew raised up and walked from behind the tree. "I-I'm sorry. I wasn't planning on attacking you. I-I don't know where I am. I heard your horse and hid. I didn't know what you'd do if you saw me. I'm sorry," he nervously blurted out. A minute passed. Then two. The man seemed interested with Drew and stepped closer, eyes squinting as if trying to see something. "What's that on your shirt? Is that. What is that? Is that, Pac-man?" The man was visibly shaken while pointing at me. Looking down at his t-shirt nervously, "Yea. Yea. I woke up here a few hours ago I think. 3 maybe 4 hours. I’ve just been sitting here. Where am I? What's going on?" Drew asked. "That's not important right now," the man replied. " What's important is where you're from. What year is it?" "What year? April something 2020. Why? What's going on?" Drew continued now worried. The man was taken aback. After a few moments, he seemed to calm himself some. The man sighed and looked at Drew in earnest. "Well, I've got good news and bad news for ya. Bad news is you're not on Earth anymore. Good news is you happened to run into me and not someone else. You’re either really lucky, or it’s fate we met in these woods, and I don’t believe in luck." The man continued to walk towards Drew while talking and put out his hand. "I'm John Mitchell from St. Louis or thereabouts. You’ve got nothing to be scared of by me. Walk with me and let’s talk."
