Chapter 132: 132
Chapter 132: You’re Disturbing My Meal
“How much longer do you plan to shake hands? I want to grab my meal soon…” Locke asked coldly.
Bronte immediately returned to his polite smile and said in a low voice, “Locke, there’s someone broadcasting live right now. Consider yourself unlucky…”
After saying that, Bronte increased his grip strength again.
“Please stop filming…”Lawrence noticed that Locke was in a bad situation and he immediately went forward to stop the blogger.
However, the onlookers and the people in the live broadcast room all despised him. They cursed him and spoke ill of the Federation’s Advanced Beastmaster Academy.
However, to Bronte’s surprise, the strength training that the Military Academy had prided itself on seemed to have taken no effect on Locke.
Locke was completely unfazed by his strong grip!
Just when he realized that something was wrong, Locke’s hand started to exert force instead!
Bronte’s eyelids started to Twitch, and he was beginning to feel pain.
“I said, I’m going to eat…”Locke lowered his body increased the strength in his hands!
It was so painful that Bronte cried out.
“AH… ! Let go!”
Everyone present was stunned!
Everything had happened in a flash, and everyone was caught off guard!
The viewers in the live broadcast room were even more surprised!
? ? ? ?
“What’s going on?”
“Did Locke use some kind of dirty trick?”
“He actually dared to hurt my handsome Bronte…”
“Let go of him!” The two people behind Bronte immediately stepped forward to stop him.
This was when Lawrence stood in front of the two people. “Gentlemen, since your captain likes to greet people so much, let them continue shaking hands then!”
The two of them ignored Lawrence and pushed him away. Then, they threw their fists at Locke.
Bang! Bang!
Locke raised his leg and kicked the two away at a speed that was difficult for the naked eye to catch!

He looked at Bronte who was already sweating and said, “I hate it when people come to find trouble with me when I’m hungry…”
As he said that, the strength in his hand continued to increase. Bronte cried out in pain and directly knelt on the ground!
Lawrence took the opportunity to stand beside Locke and said to the onlookers, “Do you see this? This is the strength of our Captain! Don’t you dare provoke us!”
At this moment, a voice rang out in the lobby, “What are you doing? Fighting is prohibited here!”
The one who spoke was an old man dressed in noble clothing, and he had several medals hanging on his chest.
“It’s Secretary Peter…”
One of the onlookers recognized him.
More and more people were watching. The match had not officially begun yet, and Locke had no intention of being disqualified due to a foul.
As such, he let go of Bronte’s hand graciously.
Bronte immediately withdrew his hand and kept rubbing it.
“You’re a student from the Federal Academy, right? Stop fooling around and go back to rest. Tomorrow morning is the opening ceremony…” Secretary Peter adjusted his glasses and said.
Locke looked down at Bronte, who had provoked him just now. He put on a gentle smile and said, “Bronte! It’s a pleasure to meet you! If you want to say hello again next time, you can come and find me anytime.”
Secretary Peter had been through a lot, and as such, he could immediately tell what had transpired.
In a stern tone, he shouted, “Bronte, take your team members and go back to rest!”
The three of them rubbed the spots where they had been injured by Locke and walked dejectedly towards the elevator.
The crowd gradually dispersed. Once the crowd was gone, Secretary Peter stepped forward and extended his hand to Locke. “You must be Locke, right? Hobrick has told me about you. You’re really a genius. If you work harder, I believe that you’ll meet the prime minister sooner or later! Also, don’t use too much force on me. I’m old, after all. Hahaha…”

Realizing that the old man was quite amiable, so Locke relaxed his grip. “Hello, sir. The old man hasn’t told me about you, but you should be much more decent than him.”
Lawrence and Rosetti were shocked when they heard Locke’s words. How could someone greet a big shot like that?
However, Secretary Peter was amused by this sentence. “Hahaha… as expected of that guy’s student. What a personality you have!”
After both parties released their hands, they went to the dining room together.
“Hobrick is a good friend of mine, but we’ve been too busy with our work and we haven’t seen each other for many years. We only communicate over the phone, but he has helped me a lot. Your meal is one me. Treat it as me returning Hobrick’s favor.” Rosetti, who was sitting at the side, was a little surprised.
Secretary Peter looked much younger than the principal, after all.
“This competition is very important, and I won’t take sides. I hope you’ll be prepared.”
Locke did not care. All he cared about now was the high-end steak in front of him.
Rosetti’s gossipy heart was burning again. She took a sip of orange juice and asked, “Mr. Secretary, may I ask… What was Principal Hobrick like when he was young?”
Peter put down the cup and began to recall.
However, all he revealed was a bitter smile, and nothing more.
Through his expression, Rosetti realized what the answer was. She shrugged, stopped asking questions, and began to eat.
Suddenly, a person walked in and whispered a few words into Peter’s ear.
“Well, I’ll take my leave now. There are more people in the restaurant. If they find out that I’m with you, they will most likely doubt my position.” Then, he looked at Lawrence who was wolfing down the food, and said jokingly, “This student has a really good appetite. It’s okay, eat more. You don’t have to pay the bill…”
Before he left, he even turned to look at Locke and said, “You have to work hard. Hobrick really needs the prize this time…”
Locke did not pay attention much attention to his words. He just nodded subconsciously.
…
The next morning, the staff responsible for picking them up had already been waiting in the lobby for a long time.
Right before entering his car, Locke noticed that Bronte and his teammates were also waiting for their car not far away.
After giving Locke an angry glare, they then left.
The Alpha Federation University students who had not been seen yesterday also appeared.
Their school uniforms were red and very eye-catching.
The three guys looked at Locke as if they were surprised by his appearance.
After more than an hour, Locke and his teammates had finally arrived at the huge competition venue.
The audience seats were filled to the brim.
They were shouting the names of the academies that they supported.
However, Locke noticed that there was not a single voice that supported the Federal Academy.
This was not surprising. After all, although the Federation Academy had a good reputation, they always kept a low profile.
There were not many people who understood their strength.
Naturally, they would support the other two universities that had improved a lot in the past two years.

A World With or Without Aliens
Nothing matters. It's not my opinion, it's a scientific fact. This is neither good nor bad, it just... is. I watched my entire country burn, fried on a patriotic pan after some jerk fired a bunch of nukes at the docile fleet of alien ships hovering over us. Who gave this moron such power? I don't know. Everyone involved is most likely dead by now. As for me, I can't die. I feel pain like a normal person would (I think), but no matter how terrible the conditions, I will never die or pass out. Fortunately, a lot of alien technology survived its crash to Earth, so I get to spend some time playing with it until Mr. Author gets bored and decides to screw up my life. Beware, this has a "harem" tag. If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm the main character and am therefore subject to this novel's timeline. While this bars me from the sweet ignorance of Chapter 1's me, it does have other perks... for example, I can tell you that heroine number one is personally responsible for kil-!? H-hey, back off! I'm your character, so if you didn't want me to be like this, then you should've written me differently! Randomguy here! In all seriousness, this novel is meant to explore the concept of nihilism as a post-apocalyptic/supernatural-scifi/satire told from a nihilistic introvert's first-person perspective. As you heard from my unsettled main character, each heroine is going to be a different type of horrifying socio/psychopath with dark motives and dangerous abilities (most of which are psychological). Why would I do something like this? Because I am, in reality, a nihilist who is often frustrated by weird things, like unrealistically dramatic stories, the industrialization of art (specifically music), and people who think swimming in brown creekwater for five hours is a "fun" activity. Don't get me wrong, neither me nor my character are depressed, we're just malcontents who make a lot of nerd references. I feel like the true essence of an "everything is worthless" perspective is lost on most pop-culture figures. The closest character I can think of at the moment is Rick from Rick and Morty, who is a drunk, angry nihilist that experienced tremendous loss. I, personally, find this belligerent state of mind to be very relatable, and have incorperated it into every chapter's introduction. Here, the main character talks directly to the reader (and me), shamelessly complaining about some semi-relevant facet of society, which probably doesn't make much sense... it's not really supposed to, though. These "angry nihilist" moments are just a peak into the main character's everyday existence, and also act as miniature rage-journals for me. It will sometimes take a subjectively 'positive' turn, but not very often. This is because reality isn't good or bad, "it just... is". I will eventually bring it full-circle to optimistic nihilism, since that seems to be a more practical way to live (and by "practical", I mean "doesn't create mental health issues"). It is, of course, a satire. I did this because most unnecessarily emotional moments or people usually make me feel kind of awkward, so I decided to mock them. That is, I plan to mock the characteristics about them I don't like in characters based solely off said characteristics. Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy my story!
