Chapter 124: After The Battle
“Ding!”
[ Congratulations to the host for completing the quest. 500 Function Points have been distributed! ]
Locke nodded.
With this, Locke had obtained 1100 Function Points.
Topping it up with the materials he had already ordered, he was now able to advance Infinite Fire Element.
Since Joey had already died, the glue on Hobrick’s body had also dissipated.
The moment the Black Tortoise left its hiding spot, everyone discovered that the surrounding buildings had all been set on fire!
Hobrick stared at Locke who looked relaxed and asked, “Brat, is this your doing?”
Locke shrugged. He had no intention to deny his actions.
“Locke! You’re really the hero of the Academy!”
“Fortunately, the Tower of Glory was spared from your destruction. Go ahead and carve your own name on it…”
“By the way, what was that move you used just now?”
“Yeah… It feels kinda hot…”
Tristan interrupted, “Alright! Locke’s contribution is important and all, but we should be looking for survivors right now! Tell Instructor Diana to search together with the students in hiding as well. We’ll have an easier time searching with larger numbers!”
The instructors and students nodded. Some had set off to put out the flames, while others had set out to look for survivors.
“Brat, where did you learn Beast Fusion from?” Hobrick asked with narrowed eyes.
Since Locke had not fully comprehended that book yet, he was not willing to share it with others!
After rolling his eyes, he said, “That is not fusion, it is just a combination skill of my wind and fire elementals…”
“Hmph… You might be able to fool others with those words, but not me! Bah, forget it, I’ll just wait until you’re ready to spill your secrets.” Hobrick knew that it was not the right time to discuss such matters.

Hobrick then ordered his water elemental to summon a heavy rain!
More than half an hour later, the fires were finally put out, and many survivors had been located.
While walking around the medical camps that were set up, an injured Diamond Class student called out to him.
He struggled to lift his body and said, “Lo-Locke, head to the police station… My family just contacted me… Your parents seem to be in jail…”
These words were like a sudden clap of thunder that exploded in Locke’s mind.
His expression turned dark, and the terrifying aura he emitted had caused passersby to feel frightened.
“It’s… It’s the police station in the north…” The injured student pointed towards the north.
Locke immediately summoned his Gale Wings and took off in a flash!
…
Meanwhile, the police station was surrounded by many civilians, who were all trying to make light of the situation.
The governor had confined all the civilians in the city hall earlier in the police station’s jail!
Back in his office, he used a handkerchief to wipe the remaining egg liquid on his forehead and scolded, “What’s going on with the Frank family? Haven’t they settled the matter with the Federal Academy yet?”
The secretary who was serving him brought over a cup of coffee, “Governor, don’t worry too much. That old fellow Hobrick has always been against us. We’ve finally got our chance to get rid of him! Moreover, all the nobles and institutions in the city have already made preparations. The Federal Academy wouldn’t know what hit them! The operation is bound to be successful!”
The governor nodded. He trusted his secretary’s judgment.
After all, it was a mere academy. How could it withstand the sneak attack from the Frank family, who used to be pirates?

“Once the Frank family wins, not only will you be rich, you’ll also be the eternal governor of the Holy City…” The police commissioner in the hall added.
“Hmph, are the lowlifes still protesting outside?” The governor was referring to the people outside who were constantly cursing him.
“These lowlifes! They are really undisciplined! Governor, I will deal with them now!” The commissioner called a few of his men, took out their guns, and walked down the stairs.
“Let them go! You b*stards!”
“Aren’t you nobles satisfied with your daily bullying…”
“What exactly did they do wrong?”
“The academy has been caught in a fire! Do you really not care at all?!”
“We want to write a letter to the royal family, we will have you sacked, you incompetent governor…”
The police commissioner kicked open the main door.
“What are you shouting for? You scum! Don’t you know that the governor is resting? All of you, head home!”
Noticing the revolvers in the hands of the few police officers, the crowd subconsciously took two steps back.
“Now, go home! If you continue to make a ruckus here, you will be executed on the spot for crimes against the Royal Family!” After saying that, the commissioner loaded his revolver and fired a shot into the sky!
Bang!
Although the civilians were all agitated, as they were ordinary citizens with weak Battle Beasts, most dared not speak out against the policemen’s corruption.
However, there were a few brave souls among them.
A buff man walked out and shouted, “Commissioner, the Federal Academy has obviously been attacked. Unless you’re blind, there’s no way you wouldn’t notice it! As a policemen sworn to protect this city, how can you ignore it?! Were you bribed by those nobles? If that’s the case, you should just step down from your position!”
After that, he shouted towards the window on the second floor, “Governor! Don’t forget! We were the ones who voted for you! Not only did you turn a blind eye to the Federal Academy’s matters, you even slandered and imprisoned innocent citizens! Come out and give everyone an explanation!”
“Right! Release the innocent…”
“Governor, step down!”
“You dogs! You colluded with those nobles!”
Hearing those words, the police commissioner’s face turned cold. He raised his hand and fired!
Bang!
The buff man’s arm bled profusely!
The civilians faces turned pale with fright, and they were unable to speak a single word.
The commissioner smirked. In any case, the Beastmasters of the Federal Academy would disappear before long, as such, what was the harm in injuring a civilian?
‘The Holy City is now under the Frank family’s rule!’
“You…” The burly man dropped to the ground in pain.
The director looked at the civilians and fired two more shots into the sky.
Bang! Bang!
“I’ll say it again, go home! If you make any more noise, I’ll make sure to aim at your heads this time!”
A few policemen behind him also loaded their pistols!
The people were really frightened. They did not expect the person who was supposed to protect them to point a gun at them!
