Chapter 92: 92
“Sigh, how greedy can you be…” Locke shook his head and gave Moto a pitying look.
The veins on Moto’s pale face bulged. He finally realized what Locke had done.
“B*stard! What did you mix into the bats’ blood?” He shouted while smashing his head into a boulder. “Wait… It’s your fire elemental, dammit!”
In truth, Locke’s success was due in no small part to luck.
Since Infinite Fire Element was able to transform into all sorts of weapons, it came as no surprise that it could transform into a microscopic needle as well!
As a result, Moto did not notice the Infinite Fire Element’s presence in the blood he had absorbed!
‘The experiment is a success, it seems that I’ve developed a new tactic. The next time I encounter an opponent like him, I’ll be able to take them down swiftly and painlessly!’
“Thank you for helping me with my experiment. Now, it’s time for me to end your pain!” Locke was still all smiles when he issued the killing order to Infinite Fire Element.
Infinite Fire Element began to transform within Moto’s body. Before long, the crimson color of Moto’s blood had been overtaken by a fiery red.
Moto tore open his shirt and revealed the blood elemental that was attached to his chest.
Seeing that he was about to have his chest penetrated by a sharp blade, Moto realized that he was out of options.
Although the flames of the Infinite Fire Element was harmless to Locke, they were extremely excruciating to its enemies! At present, Moto felt as if he were being boiled alive!
Right before he died, he angrily opened his bloodshot eyes and roared, “If I’m going to die here, then I’ll take you with me!”
Moto’s body rapidly expanded. The man who was originally all skin and bones had now gained a plump figure!

Moto looked like a container that was close to bursting!
Locke knew that Moto was about to use a self-destruct skill.
Locke rapidly took to the skies via his Gale Wings. Then, he ordered Infinite Fire Element to expedite its destructive process!
Like a deflated ball, blood began to pour out of Moto’s orifices!
“AHH… !”
With a final roar, Moto unleashed the last attack of his life.
The explosion of mana swept across the arena, and its firepower was rather formidale.
However, it was unable to harm Locke, who had already left the explosion’s blast radius…
“Ah damn, I forgot to ask him…” Locke was referring to the White family’s unique skill, the Beast Fusion.
It was a really powerful skill, and for someone like Locke, who was destined to hatch more Battle Beasts in the future… The allure of the skill was simply too great.
Locke originally wanted to ask Moto what the secret was, and if he handed it over, Locke would have spared his life. In the end, however, Moto was unable to bear the pain caused by Infinite Fire Element, and he had decided to take his own life.
“Sigh! I’ll just ask someone else then. I don’t think I’ve wiped out the White family yet…” Locke scratched his head and flew in another direction…
Back in the Northern District that was heavily infested with bats, Tristan was fighting shoulder to shoulder with the students!
However, the bats’ numbers proved to be too much for them to handle.
Many of the Bronze and Silver class students had already run out of mana. As a result, they had become burdens on the battlefield.
Upon learning of the situation on the battlefield, Tristan, who was the commander, shouted, “Students who have used up all their mana, hurry up and seek Instructor Jacques for protection! As for the other students, continue fighting!”

“Boom!”
The Black Tortoise launched yet another cannonball, and although it had annihilated hundreds of bats, their overall number had showed no signs of decreasing.
The bats’ large numbers had caused the scalps of the instructors and students to go numb.
Just as the instructors were beginning to ration the students’ mana usage, a change had begun to take place within the bat swarm.
“They’re dropping!”
“What’s happening?”
“They’re plummeting!”
“They seem to be dead…”
“It must be Locke’s doing! We’re saved!”
In response to the students’ exclamations, Tristan looked up towards the sky. To his surprise, the bats’ neat formation had been thrown into disarray. Due to their large number, they constantly ran into one another, and after taking one too many hits, the bats then collapsed onto the ground.
Those that fell had perished.
The scenario had extended to the other bat swarms in the city as well.
Before long, the Holy City was raining bats!
“That kid must’ve gotten rid of Moto…” Jacques commented upon reaching Tristan’s side.
“Once the master dies, the Battle Beast would not be able to sustain itself. Sigh, Locke defeated Moto way faster than I expected him to. It seems that I’ve severely underestimated his abilities…” Tristan recalled his apprehension over Locke’s battle against Alva. He was deathly afraid that Locke would lose his life in the duel.
However, in hindsight, it was a rather cringeworthy move on his part.
Although Locke was only a student, his strength was already far above his!
After shaking his head with a bitter smile, he announced, “Alright! The threat has been neutralized. Everyone, assist the civilians in the clean-up process. Once you’re done, follow your captain back to the academy and report to Instructor Diana!”
After exchanging a glance with Jacques, the two instructors then entered the Black Tortoise’s cabin and headed towards the Howling Valley!
…
“Roar… !” The Nether Lion’s roar echoed through the valley, and it was crushing Hobrick’s fire elemental under its weight!
The uninhabited valley had been surrounded by ferocious hellfire!
The valley was illuminated as if it were daytime!
After letting out another roar, the Nether Lion tore the fire elemental to shreds!
Hobrick was disheveled, and his robes were covered in soot and blood.
Hobrick was already on the verge of collapse, and yet, he still stood tall. Moreover, he was also brainstorming new ways to deal with Old Man White, despite suffering the loss of a Battle Beast.
Old Man White was not much better. His body was also covered in wounds and blood.
However, he was not worried. After all, he knew his “old friend’s” abilities well.
Careful planning and shameless tactics was part and parcel of Hobrick’s combat style.
Nevertheless, Old Man White was confident that he could blow away all of Hobrick’s smoke and mirrors with his final trump card!
‘The goddess of victory… Is on my side!’
“Old b*stard, it’s time for us to end this once and for all…” Old Man White recalled his Battle Beasts to his side.
“Dammit…” Hobrick knew what his opponent was up to!
Time was of the essence, and he ordered his remaining elementals to set up defensive measures.
“Battle Beast… Fusion!”
A silvery-red light was emanated from the two Battle Beasts!

Ars Magica
Our vision comes back into focus. Our eyes, while being able to perceive the immediate surroundings, still leave us with our minds uncomprehending towards what is actually occurring. Sure, there are definitive things that we can focus on, like the fact that we're either out upon the open sea or the open ocean, there not being much of a difference with no land in sight, as well as the fact that we appear to be upon a haphazardly constructed metal boat, whose seams are barely able to keep a hold of themselves in the crashing waves. However, that does not let us understand what exactly is causing the waves in the first place. If we were to rewind time, we'd find ourselves upon a calm sea under a peaceful sky with the only difference, being a small whirlpool that would be the precursor towards this uproar around the boat. Lightning flashes in the sky, with no clouds being near, and anyone actually manning the boat has either died towards the cause of the smashing tides in the first place, or are fighting amongst the flashes of lightning, all while trying not to become devoured, demolished, and utterly decimated by the beast roiling in the whirling waves. To better understand exactly what is happening here, there is one singular event that needs to be understood, that needs to be explained, and that is the arrival of a creature named Dave. Stepping back from current events and going towards this creature's first appearance in the world, we begin to hear the sound of water slowly dripping across rocky ground. The cavern is utterly silent except for this one constant, its cause feeding channels downwards, sloping towards cracks in the rubble along the floor from broken stalagmites and stalactites. And there, lying on top of something which had fallen over recently, judging from its cracks, is a person, the creature named Dave. His form is fast asleep, either from the impact or from an intoxication, judging from the smell upon its breath. A bright light suffuses into it for a second, giving life towards the pale skin, before it slowly dies down back to the comfortable black of the cave that it's within. Before this moment in time, Dave did not exist in the physical world. At least, not in the reality that he finds himself born into. We do not know whether or not his existence is simply a cosmic joke, or something that is being played out on purpose. All that we do know, is that one moment, the body was not in the cave, and simply formed in the next. The actual earliest time that we know Dave exists, is the interpolation of the memories of J-209, which we'll begin looking into shortly to gain context towards the coming narrative that is being written and hastily trying to keep itself written. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Warning: This story has several things which might turn its readers away. The first is that this story has shifting points of perspective. Don't worry about that previous sentence too much though, as the main character will always have a first person perspective associated with them. However, any other character from which we're viewing the story from will either be in third-person, as we are not necessarily in their shoes at the moment, or in first person, given that the narrator is an actual physical presence within the story. For the most part, chapters will be self-contained with their perspectives, so there will not be an abundance of switching perspectives within the same chapter. The most that an average reader would have to worry about is the fact that perspectives can switch between chapters. The second thing is that the main character is a bit on the 'special' side of things. He's not exactly mentally there most of the time, so there will be some times that his personality or his thoughts do not actively align with his actions. The third, and final thing of importance, is the fact that past the first couple of chapters, nothing has been planned in advance. There are arcs and plots that I want to do, want to implement, or have already been set into motion from our main character's introduction to the world, but the method that I use for my story writing and generating leads towards a bit more random chance being enabled. Basically...there's a lot of dice rolling behind the scenes. To not complicate the story further than its regular LitRPG elements, the rolls will not be publicly available. However, there will be knowledge within the author's notes on whether or not there were positive or negative critical rolls that had occurred within the chapter. You have been warned. Updates: Mondays & Fridays (Schedule permitting) Typical Chapter Length: (2,000-3,000)
