Chapter 12
60 Beast Eggs.
Each of them was worth one million!
4
The incident from the day before was still fresh in Locke’s mind. His parents had lost sleep over a million, and they were even willing to sell everything and take on debt just to buy a single Beast Egg for Locke.
But now…
In just five short minutes…
With only two skills used, Locke had already gotten 60 Magic Beast Eggs!
While Locke was counting his Beast Eggs…
The patrol team members arrived on scene. After jumping down from the back of his Demon Petrel, Zach then ordered his subordinates.
“See if there any civilians are hurt. If there are, treat them immediately. Use your Battle Beasts to send them for treatment!”
“Yes!”
Everyone responded and ran towards the crowd.
While they were treating the civilians, they caught up with the incident.
“What did you say? The two-headed snake was worshipped by other Battle Beasts?”
The civilians did not understand how to judge the rank of the Battle Beasts.
However, as the captain of the patrol team, Zach was well aware.
A Battle Beast that was worshipped by other Battle Beasts was definitely divine in rank!
Even an orange epic rank Battle Beast would not be able to command such respect!
2
The reason was simple.
Although Battle Beasts had all sorts of qualities, their levels were still limited. In other words, although this two-headed snake was a divine Battle Beast, its level was far from reaching its peak!
Despite only being in a bronze combat tier, its battle prowess was already stronger than normal Battle Beasts!
Even if it was an epic rank Battle Beast, at such low combat levels, it would never have shown such prowess.
There was only one explanation.
This two-headed snake was a divine rank Battle Beast!
Otherwise, it would not have been worshipped by other battle beasts!

“Wait… you’re saying that its master is only a third-year high school student?”
Through the civilians’ accounts, Zach learned that the owner of the divine rank Battle Beast was only a high school student.
The answer was completely different from what he had expected!
“Where is that high school student now?”
Zach asked curiously.
With such a high-quality Battle Beast, the youth’s future held limitless potential!
He wanted to see what kind of monster had appeared in Atlanta!
“I don’t know! Look around! He’s wearing a school uniform!”
…
At the same time, on the other side.
The girl who sold the lucky fruits had located Locke.
“Big Brother!”
The sweet voice roused Locke from his reverie. He raised his head and saw that the girl from earlier was panting hard.
“What’s wrong?”
“Why haven’t you gone home yet?”
The girl’s eyes lit up. “I was terrified! If it wasn’t for you, I might have died here!”
“You gave me the lucky fruits earlier, and now, I’ll return them to you. Thank you for saving me!”
The girl handed the lucky fruits to him with admiration in her eyes.
Locke did not take them.
Instead, he said, “I should be thanking you instead. If it weren’t for you, I would have gone home a long time ago. I wouldn’t have been so lucky.”
Locke was telling the truth.
If it weren’t for this girl, he really would have left this place a long time ago.
If that were to happen, he would not have been able to obtain those 60 Beast Eggs.
That was 60 million!
“Alright, I’m going to head home now. You should go home as well!”
After saying that, Locke waved his hand at the girl and left in the direction of his own home.

He had gained so much today. He needed to properly come to terms with it.

After all, when Lil’ White first evolved, he needed four million coins’ worth of materials.
How much would the next evolution cost?
Locke estimated that it would at least exceed ten million!
Moreover…
He needed to carefully study the principal’s rewards as well.
Becoming stronger was his top priority at the moment.
The current Locke was still too weak. Moreover, Locke had no desire to live as an ordinary person. He wanted to stand at the peak of this world!
1
The girl watched as Locke’s figure disappeared from sight.
It was also at this time that Zach made his way over.
He saw the girl looking into the distance.
He quickly asked, “Hello, have you seen a young man wearing a school uniform?”
The girl turned around, and a smile immediately appeared on her face.
“Uncle, do you want to buy a Lucky Fruit?”
3
…
Not long after…
Locke returned to his home.
As it was still afternoon, both of his parents were out at work. They were swamped with their jobs, and it was all for the sake of maintaining the family’s livelihood.
Locke was born in an ordinary family and as such, his living conditions were also ordinary. Not only were his household’s furniture old, the rooms in his house were small as well.
Now that Locke had a large sum of money, it was only a matter of time before he moved to somewhere new.
After returning to his room, Locke took out a batch of Beast Eggs.
Due to how small his room was, even if he were to fill up the entire room, only 20 to 30 eggs could be released.
However, as it was still early, Locke was in no hurry.
He quickly inspected the eggs.
Locke need only touch the Beast Eggs to see their corresponding information.
Soon…
The first Beast Egg’s stats appeared before his eyes.
[ Battle Beast name: Flowery Macaw]
7
[ Battle Beast quality: Green ]
[ Battle Beast type: Skill-based ]
[ Battle Beast attribute: Wind ]
[ Battle Beast level: Level 1, Stage 1]
[ Battle Beast growth progress: 100% (able to hatch)]
[ Battle Beast Talent: None ]
[ Battle Beast Skill: None ]
[ Hidden Evolution Path 1: Strength-oriented evolution. Next form, [ Iron Macaw ] . It can use its sharp claws to slash at its enemies. It can unleash a storm of feathers, and It can evolve to blue elite rank at the most! ]
[ Hidden Evolution Path 2: Magic-oriented Evolution. Next form, [ Rainbow Feathers ] . It can use sounds to confuse its opponents. It can evolve to purple rare rank at most. ]
Looking at the message, Locke could not help but shake his head.
Although he could see the Hidden Evolution Paths of the Battle Beasts, he could not change their innate potential.
1
Although he could train every battle beast to its strongest form, there was still one thing that he could not overlook, and that was that to choose properly!
Therefore…
Locke began to observe the eggs one by one.
Very soon…
He had already inspected 20 Beast Eggs.
1
Locke had singled out all the battle beasts that could evolve to epic rank.
If none of the beasts could evolve to the rose gold quality, Locke would raise an epic Battle Beast instead.
The reason was very simple.
Although a divine rank Battle Beast was in a league of its own compared to an epic rank Battle Beast. Not all Battle Beasts had the potential to reach divine rank.
And an epic-grade battle beast coupled with the battle prowess of a god-grade battle beast would definitely be stronger than a single battle beast.
In the end, having quantity, coupled with quality was the way to go.
“33!”
“47!”
When Locke observed the 48th Beast Egg…
He noticed that it could reach the rose gold quality!
There was finally a beast that could evolve into the divine rank!

My Isekai
For those not familiar with the isekai genera, this story is about a man waking up in an unknown world. The story follows his journey and life in this world, which does not only look different on the surface, but the common norms and values of this world are very alien to the modern western mindset. How will this average western person respond to such a world, and how will it change him. For those familiar with isekai, this is a western take on a predominantly Japanese story format. It draws a lot of inspiration from Japanese isekai, but it also tries to tackle a lot of tropes that might be annoying to the western mindset. The story is not written for young boys as the story tries to take a mature take on some typical clichés and assumptions made by both the typical writer and reader of the genera.
