Chapter 75

Rain .

‘Lucy, I love you,’ Quan Wen said .

‘Quan Wen, you’re crazy,’ Lucy said . ‘I’m your big sister . ’

Quan Wen saw Lucy as his woman . He kissed her red lips .

‘Quan Wen!’ Lucy said . ‘Wake up!’

Lucy pushed Quan Wen away . By the time she took two steps, he pulled her on the floor and he laid on top of her .

‘I loved you for years,’ Quan Wen said . ‘Now grandpa’s gone, there is no one to stop me from being with you . ’

Quan Wen kissed Lucy’s neck . She was repulsed by him . She couldn’t escape from under his heavy body . When he was about to kiss her lips again, she slapped his cheek .

‘Get off me!’ Lucy said . ‘Get out! I don’t want to see your face again . ’

Quan Wen hated seeing Lucy cry . He got off her, and stood .

‘I don’t regret what I did today,’ Quan Wen said .

Lucy sat on the floor and cried . She didn’t want to lose her grandpa, and she didn’t know why her little brother suddenly overstepped their sibling relationship . She grabbed her phone, and she called Zhen Wu .

‘Zhen Wu…’ Lucy called .

‘Lucy, what happened?’ Zhen Wu asked .

Lucy didn’t want Zhen Wu to know what Quan Wen did because she knew Zhen Wu wouldn’t forgive Quan Wen .

‘Zhen Wu, grandpa only has a couple of days left,’ Lucy said . ‘I’m scared . Why does death want to take my grandpa away this soon?’

‘Lucy, one day we’ll be old too,’ Zhen Wu said .

‘Zhen Wu, you’re not allowed to leave me first,’ Lucy said .

‘I’ll do my best,’ Zhen Wu said .

‘We’ll it kill you to say some comforting words to me?’ Lucy asked .

‘Lucy, go to sleep,’ Zhen Wu said . ‘You need energy to take care of grandpa . ’

‘Goodnight,’ Lucy said .

Zhen Wu couldn’t sleep after he received Lucy’s phone . He sensed she was hiding something from him, because she didn’t want to worry him . He walked to Yue Ni’s study room, knocked on the door and sat on the sofa . Yue Ni was holding a polar bear and looking at her laptop .

‘I want to know what happened to Lucy,’ Zhen Wu said .

‘Big brother, now you know why I need to secretly protect everyone,’ Yue Ni said .

Zhen Wu didn’t fall for Yue Ni’s trap like Huyen Di . He took out his phone and threatened to call Shu Tang Li .

‘Xiao Ni, do you want to know how happy Xiao Li will be when I tell him where you’ll be tomorrow?’ Zhen Wu asked .

‘I surrender,’ Yue Ni said .

Yue Ni grabbed Zhen Wu’s phone, and she showed him footage of what happened to Lucy in Italy . She knew Zhen Wu would sell her to Shu Tang Li in order to protect Lucy .

Zhen Wu thumped the desk, and Yue Ni took several steps back . She knew people who made Zhen Wu lose his temper were unlucky people, Quan Wen was going to suffer .

On a rainy day in Italy, Lucy wore a black dress and she listened to the priest read the funeral rites for Dawson Brenda . She didn’t know how long she cried that day . Her grandpa was gone . She had no one left to hold an umbrella for her, and protect her .

Lucy didn’t know how she got home . She sat in Dawson Brenda’s study room . She used to love sitting with her grandpa, reading a book while he worked . But the room was no longer warm, because her grandpa wasn’t coming back .

Lucy heard a knock on the door . She wiped her tears and sat upright .

‘Come in,’ Lucy said .

‘Young mistress Lucy,’ a lawyer said . ‘I’m Dawson Brenda’s lawyer . I came here to read his will he left to his family . ’

‘Go ahead,’ Lucy said .

Lucy’s relatives and Quan Wen walked into the room . She no longer could treat Quan Wen like her little brother . Quan Wen had become a stranger to her after what he did to her .

‘Hurry up and read the will,’ Kelly said . ‘I want to hear what I inherited so I can leave . ’

‘I’m sorry,’ the lawyer said . ‘I need to wait until all of Dawson Brenda’s relatives are here before I can read the will . ’

‘Who are you waiting for?’ Kelly asked .

Kelly didn’t want to share her inheritance with more people .

A twenty-year-old man in a suit ran into the room and bowed .

‘I’m sorry I’m late and made everyone wait,’ Hua Xi Tong said .

‘Everyone’s here now,’ the lawyer said .

‘Wait,’ Kelly said . ‘What is this little boy doing here?’

‘According to Dawson Brenda’s will, Hua Xi Tong is Gal Brenda and Hua Xiang Xiang’s son,’ the lawyer said . ‘Hua Xi Tong is Dawson Brenda’s grandson, he has a right to be here . ’

‘What?’ Kelly asked . ‘Gal Brenda has a bastard son? I want proof . ’

‘Here’s the DNA results,’ the lawyer said . ‘Hua Xi Tong is Dawson Brenda’s grandson . ’

‘Great-aunt Kelly, if this is grandpa’s will then we should respect grandpa’s decision,’ Lucy said .

Kelly knew her big brother Dawson Brenda loved Lucy the most, and Lucy would be the CEO of Dawson’s company . She didn’t argue with Lucy, because she would be living off Lucy in the future .

‘Dawson Brenda wants Kelly Brenda to inherit Dawson Brenda’s mansion in England,’ the lawyer said . ‘Sixty percent of Dawson’s company shares will be given to Lucy . If Lucy’s future husband agrees then twenty percent will be given to Hua Xi Tong, and Quan Wen will receive the remaining twenty percent . ’

‘The will is a fake!’ Kelly said . ‘Why would he want to give forty percent of the shares to a bastard grandson and an adopted grandson?’

Kelly thought it was unfair . She was Dawson Brenda’s little sister, but she only received a puny mansion .

‘I’m sorry this is all written in Dawson Brenda’s will,’ the lawyer said .

‘Great-aunt Kelly, be reasonable,’ Lucy said . ‘The mansion in England is worth a couple of millions . Think about it . While grandpa was alive, you never once came here to visit me and grandpa . Grandpa is too generous to give you a mansion . ’

‘Lucy,’ Quan Wen called .

‘Mr Quan, call all of Dawson’s company directors to attend a meeting tomorrow at Dawson’s company headquarters,’ Lucy said . ‘Mr Hua, follow me to my study room . ’

Hua Xi Tong followed Lucy, and Kelly was happy to see Lucy put Quan Wen in his place .

‘Little boy, don’t dream about receiving a dollar from Dawson’s company,’ Kelly said . ‘You’re only an adopted grandson . Lucy is the rightful heir . ’

In Lucy’s study room, she poured Hua Xi Tong a glass of water .

‘Are you Hua Xi Tong?’ Lucy asked .

‘Yes,’ Hua Xi Tong said .

‘Is your mother Mandarin?’ Lucy asked .

‘Yes,’ Hua Xi Tong said .

‘My mum is Mandarin too,’ Lucy said . ‘I’m not angry at you . I’m shocked my dad has a son with another woman . My grandpa told me my dad loved my mum . ’

‘I understand,’ Hua Xi Tong said .

‘I won’t contest my grandpa’s will,’ Lucy said . ‘You’re my little brother . In the future come and see me if you need any help . ’

Lucy was grateful to meet her little brother . It made her feel less alone since her grandpa died .

‘Thank you big sister,’ Hua Xi Tong said .

After Dawson Brenda died, the atmosphere at Dawson’s company was tensed . The directors’ support were divided between Lucy and Quan Wen . If Quan Wen was CEO, it would be easier for them to eliminate him than Lucy who was Dawson Brenda’s legitimate granddaughter .

During the meeting at Dawson’s company, some directors threatened to quit if Quan Wen wasn’t made CEO .

‘Young mistress Lucy, Quan Wen contributed a lot to Dawson’s company over the years,’ a director said . ‘He has a right to be CEO . If you don’t resign then we’ll resign . ’

Lucy wasn’t surprised the greedy directors betrayed her . But she had to consider the livelihood of Dawson’s company’s employees . She couldn’t destroy everything Dawson Brenda built because her pride stopped her from resigning .

In the lowest moment of Lucy’s life, the meeting room door opened and Zhen Wu walked into the room .

‘If everyone wants to resign then go ahead,’ Zhen Wu said .

Zhen Wu wore a black suit, and he gave off an intimidating aura . He walked to Lucy, kissed her forehead and sat next to her .

‘Lucy, I’m sorry I’m late,’ Zhen Wu said .

‘Zhen Wu, you’re on time,’ Lucy said .

‘Lucy, I hate wearing suits,’ Zhen Wu whispered in Lucy’s ear . ‘Later you have to compensate me . ’

Quan Wen saw Lucy blushed, and he couldn’t control his jealousy .
