The more she reminisced about the past, the more her heart ached . Uncontrollably, her eyes reddened and she was afraid that she would end up crying in the car in front of Lu Jinnian, so she lowered her head, suppressing her emotions . Only when the car stopped did she raise her head . Through the car window, she could tell that they had reached Mian Xiu Garden’s entrance . Qiao Anhao didn’t dare to stay in the car any longer . She opened the door and took flight .
Her actions were so swift that Lu Jinnian barely had enough time to react . It was as though she had alighted the exact moment he had stopped the car .
Lu Jinnian frowned, remembering how reluctant she was to board his car, and now that they had reached the house, she couldn’t stay in his car for one extra minute .
He clenched his lips tightly, lowering his lashes, hiding his disappointment . Just as he was about to drive off, he saw Qiao Anhao’s bag in a corner of the passenger seat . He hesitated for a while before sounding the horn .
Qiao Anhao paused momentarily before turning back to look at Lu Jinnian . She quickly lowered her lashes, worried that he could see that her eyes were red . Trying hard to sound stable, she asked, “What’s wrong?”
Lu Jinnian pointed to the passenger seat, but since Qiao Anhao had lowered her head, she wasn’t able to see his actions . He took a deep breath before reaching out for her bag . He pulled the hand brake and walked out to her, bringing the bag with one word, “Bag . “
That was when she realized that she had left her bag in his car . He was standing close to her, so she reached over for her bag hurriedly before taking a step back . With her head still lowered, she replied, “Thank you . ” Then she quickly followed up, “I’ll go in first . “

Lu Jinnian remained quiet but his expression was ice cold .
Ever since they had married, she always hung her head in his presence, not willing to look at him, finding all sorts of excuses to get away from him .
Qiao Anhao kept her head lowered . Seeing that his leather shoes were still there, she asked, ” Are . . . you coming back tonight?”
“You . . . “
Lu Jinnian stopped after one word, ridicule floating in his eyes .
He had wanted to ask, ‘Do you want me to come home?’
But before he could say it, he realized that he was just looking to be humiliated . Why would she want him to come back?
Lu Jinnian clenched his fists tightly . Hardening his voice, he changed his words to, “I don’t have any needs tonight . “
