Chapter 572: 572
Chapter 572: How Do Superior Beings Usually Entertain Themselves?
Riding atop the blue ox, Taishang Laojun was between laughter and tears.
Sighing, he said, “I don’t mean to rebuke you. All I want is for you to keep a low profile while you cultivate, and take some time off to visit the depths of Chaos… but now that seems impossible.”
“What’s wrong?”
Jiang He was perplexed. “I could have gone to the depths of Chaos anytime I wanted. What danger could there possibly be?”
“I had hidden your presence from the will of fate—the God Emperor and the Demon Emperor would only be able to see your death no matter what divination they make.”
“However, there is no hiding your attack on the Insectoids’ domain.”
Taishang Laojun then cast Jiang He a look of suspicion and surprise before saying, “That being said, the power you’ve shown today is unbelievable… You are an equal match for average Saints even if you had yet to become Saint, which is why I’m sure you would match even the best Saints once you become one!”
“And do you think the God Emperor and the Demon Emperor would let you grow?”
Certainly not.
Do you even need to ask?
Jiang He retorted in his head.
Those two morons had attacked last time, and he’d be dead if they get their hands on him again.
But all it would take was just to deny them the chance.
The universe was endlessly vast, and not even Saints could cross countless constellation instantly… Just like today, could the God Emperor and the Demon Emperor catch up if he moved a little faster?
Still, Jiang He had a flash of inspiration then and whispered, “Brother… since the God Emperor and the Demon Emperor want me dead, why don’t we use that to set a trap and kill them instead?”
“You’re worried that they would ambush me in the depths of Chaos, yes? You could bring along the Primeval Lord of Heaven and the Grandmaster of Heaven to wait at the depths of Chaos, and I’ll lure the God Emperor and the Demon Emperor toward you, kill them all in one stroke. Does it get any better?”

As for the agreement between Saints…
The Three Realms would be the sole authority left with the God Emperor and the Demon Emperor dead. Wouldn’t what they say go?
Unable to decide if he should laugh or cry, Taishang Laojun sighed and said, “Did you think the God Emperor and the Demon Emperor can be killed so easily? Moreover, I can’t leave the normal realms right now.”
“Oh?”
Jiang He’s gaze twitched and he asked in confusion, “You can’t leave? Is there some sort of restraint?”
Taishang Laojun smiled but said nothing, and merely looked out to the horizon.
Jiang He look as well, but that particular direction was empty save for twinkling stars.
Both men returned to the Three Realms together, with Taishang Laojun returning to Tushita Palace while Jiang He headed for Biyou Palace.
The Grandmaster of Heaven personally received him. Being a Saint, he could naturally sense the commotion of the battle between Jiang He and the Nine-Headed Insectoid Saint, and could not help sighing. “Just before, I thought that you’re extraordinary lucky and had the potential to become Saint… and now you prove superior to certain Saints already.”
“You flatter me, Brother. Saints are immortal and control time, whereas I am only on the cusp of becoming Saint, and am far from mastering it,” replied Jiang He humbly.
His stroll this time, which included a direct clash against the Nine-Headed Insectoid Saint, gave him a clear picture of his own abilities and cultivation.
His immortal arts had not improved and he was still full-fledged Demi-Saint.
However, he must have ascended his martial-artist tier.
Jiang He’s self-made Martial Scripture had fourteen-tiers, and he surmised that the fifteenth would be equal in rank to the Saints.
He did not develop the fifteenth tier since his powers were limited back when he had first made the Martial Scripture. Still, he could guess that it had to with developing the world in his body.
As for his Farm upgraded and fused with the world in his body, creating a planetary system… that was sheer coincidence.
Be that as it may, Jiang He felt that since the fifteenth martial arts tier was equal to Saint, there would be some extent of a Saint’s might, and not limited to a simple increase in power with World Strength.

There was still more to be discovered.
Jiang He returned to seclusion in the evening, after having a pleasant chat and getting drunk with the Grandmaster of Heaven.
He entered the sealed cultivation room in Biyou Palace, heading inside the world in his body with just a thought.
Dumbo and the others were not goofing off within.
Over the last few days, they had built a colossal ranch on a planet that resembled Earth.
It stretched over hundreds of miles, having everything from lakes and pavilions to mini mountains. Each were built by Trumbo’s item refinement technique, and were as luxurious as they were grand.
The mansion, purple bamboo forest, Old Tea Tree of Enlightenment, grapevines, and the coast that Jiang He had personally planted in the Farm before was also moved to the ranch.
Now, Jiang He took a seat beneath the Old Tea Tree of Enlightenment and drank grape vine brewed from those mutated grapes and Origin Fluid, smiling, “Now this feels like home…Wang Hou could even migrate some beings from Earth to this planet to make it livelier.”
The world in Jiang He’s body was a world of its own, and naturally its own day and night cycles.
He yawned as he woke up at noon the next day, and went to outer space after having lunch.
There, the seven Demi-Saint Insectoid corpses were already ripe.
It surprised Jiang He to find that they did not turn into the Demi-Saints’ stone coffins from before. Instead, they became giant hives hovering in outer space as if they were celestial bodies.
Jiang He grasped from the distance, and one of the hives shifted.

At the same time, a System notification jingled in his ear.
[Ding!]
[+50 billion Farm Points.]
[+1 billion EXP.]
[Ding…]
After seven jingles, Jiang He’s could feel that the world in his body expanded considerably.
The edge of the river of stars beyond was unfolding outwards.
Jiang He carefully stretched out his senses and found that various strands of auras were pouring out from the Chaos, turning into bundles of light that floated among the stars.
Those lights kept altering until they gradually became a brand-new planet.
“…”
Jiang He was baffled.
Was the world in his body that human?
Jiang He could understand that Farm Points and EXP expanded the world in his body, but creating planets out of nowhere was still too bizarre.
“Perhaps this is how the universe appeared out of nothingness… and the world in my body merely forms quickly thanks to Farm Points and EXP.”
“Shame. I only killed six Demi-Saint Insectoids, including the one I killed before at the Insectoid’s domain. They don’t have that much resources even if they pooled everything together.”
The Demi-Saint Insectoids were all penniless in Jiang He’s perspective, but it was understandable.
They would need substantial investment of resources to develop powerful Insectoid warriors. Indeed, creating a Demi-Saint Insectoid warrior would basically require all of a Demi-Saint’s own resources, and it would be surprising if they did not end up poor after that.
Hence, in the following days, Jiang He focused on studying the world in his body in hops of finding what makes the fifteenth-tier of martial arts profound.
But it was no good at all.
And soon, a month had passed.
Jiang He stepped out unhappily from the sealed cultivation and ran headlong into Zhao Gongming.”
“Bro… I mean, Martial Uncle!”
Zhao Gongming approached him, having heard of Jiang He’s feat at the Insectoid’s domain. Aside from his shock, he did not find calling Jiang He ‘Martial Uncle’ that unacceptable.
“Out on a stroll, Old Zhao?”
Jiang He responded feebly.
“Something on your mind, Martial Uncle?”
“Oh… don’t mention it!”
Jiang He sighed. “I secluded myself for a month to cultivate and got nothing. There’s not much improvement in my abilities… so I’m a little irritated.”
“Oh, right!”
Realizing with a start, he turned toward Zhao Gongming and asked seriously, “I heard that superior beings like you have a hard time developing even after hundreds of thousands of the years… Don’t you get annoyed after so long? How do you usually entertain yourselves?”
Zhao Gongming was dumbstruck.

Shift (Ben 10+DCU Fanfiction)
Omnitrix+ DCU, what's not to like? The main character will not be Ben Tennyson, rather someone from our world who gains the Omnitrix Hello! This fanfiction Shift is what I wanted to do for an homage to what I thought were underrated pieces of media, Ben 10 and some DCU characters. However, I would be remiss if I didn’t add context to two of the major works that inspired Shift, Dial, and A Practical Guide to Evil. Dial is another ben 10 fanfiction, however that story takes place in the MCU, and with an adult that is already a grown-up at the beginning of the story. Dial, by my own accounts, is more superficially Like shift, even though the Omnitrix is a central device in both. My protagonist starts out around 18 years old, so is less serious and can build relationships with some of the junior justice league members, and then later on in the story meet the Justice League officially. The tone will be more light-hearted at the beginning of the story as teenagers are known to use sarcasm and jokes at each other’s expense. Furthermore, in Dial, the protagonist has a well-developed knowledge of the MCU which he uses to have knowledge on events and characters, that the character in Shift will not have. While the MC will have some knowledge of people's abilities, lesser-known characters and people's real identities will be not included as much, but the MC of Shift will have some knowledge. APGTE's influence is deeper than Dials'. The epigraphs at the beginning of every chapter are an example of that, a place for light-hearted jokes and worldbuilding that's not pure exposition, but I also want to incorporate narrative stories to Shift (heroes win more than lose, providence, etc) on a lighthearted scale. While the heroes of Shift will have to work to win against villains, the MC of Shift will be allowed limited precognition, through narratives tropes and archetypes as a trade-off of less knowledge of the DCU. For example, a villain a hero faces might monologue, but the MC will not instinctively know how to counter every villain they encounter. I also wanted to bring in more realism than usual superhero stories, ie: the MC cannot just walk and have a meeting with Batman or Superman, he would have to “work his way up” in terms of credibility and whatnot. The Aliens that show up in Shift I tried to make different than the ones in Dial, just to share the love for lesser-known characters. And to make it fairer for the villains of the DCU, the main character will not wantonly use if gain at all an Alien X or a ben 10 form of Kryptonians, just so the characters have to work a little bit for victory. I urge anyone reading to consider checking out both APGTE and Dial as they are both amazing works, and I hope you enjoy them. The beginning of how the MC enters the DCU will not be as important as him actually existing in that universe, so that is why a ton of time is not spent on that part of the story. Chapters will be around 2.5 thousand words and come out around every weekday.
