Chapter 561: 561
Chapter 561: Lord Swelling Sky, You Wretch! Come Fight me!
“Jiang He!”
The Nether River Patriarch was at once shocked and terrified in the blood sea, and he was basically bellowing furiously, “Have your pets stop! Don’t hurt my children!”
In the distance, Dumbo and Trumbo were plundering the treasure vault of the Suras everywhere.
Any Sura who stood in their way would be crushed by the cat and the dog with overwhelming force…
Alongside them was the Cloudscraper Vine, its full cosmic-size bared as its tendrils flailed, coiling around the many Suras’ corpses.
Its fearsome thorns would stab into the many corpses like long lollipops, quickly draining them flesh dry and throwing the husks into space.
Even if the Suras had a role to play in the cosmic war and were at least Heavenly Immortals, the Cloudscraper Vine managed to devour over dozens of thousands of their corpses in an instant. Its tendrils glimmered in faint blood radiance, and while it did not grow larger, its aura had distinctly strengthened by several notches.
“Stop!”
Over the horizon, the blood sea churned violently as the Nether River Patriarch quickly shouted, “Stop it, Jiang He! There’s not much of a grudge between us, and mystic treasures are mere possessions… you can have the Yuan Killer Sword! I’m giving it to you!”
“Giving it to me?”
Jiang He brandished the Yuan Killer Sword and smiled. “I told you that I’ve picked it up in my farm… and since I’ve picked it up, it’s mine. Why would I need you to give it to me?”
Swish!
Swing out his sword, he released his immortal arts and martial arts cultivation at once, unleashing a dazzling sword light by casting the Secret Art of the Chaos Thundersword.
The sword light sliced into the Blood Sea, parting it even though it was half the size of a planetary system.
The Nether River Patriarch snorted and growled, “You can’t kill me, Jiang He… there’s no quarrel between us either, so why don’t you just give up? I’ll owe you one for that.”
Jiang He did not listen, however, and continued his assault, his streaks of sword light tearing through the Blood Sea. It churned, but recovered immediately after each cut, not to mention that each of Jiang He’s attack shrank it considerably.

That left the Nether River Patriarch incredibly pleased.
Despite Jiang He’s outstanding offensive ability, the Nether River Patriarch existed in a special form—Jiang He’s attack would never harm his essence, and was instead destroying the Grandmaster of Heaven’s subjugation.
“There certainly isn’t any feud between us.”
Jiang He said flatly. “But you sided with the Gods and Demons, and that means death!”
Swish!
He sliced through the Blood Sea again.
This time, however, the Nether River Patriarch cried out in panic.
“No!”
“Jiang He…”
“Stop!”
“I’ll give you Infinite Pain, too!”
Yuan Killer and Infinite Pain were the Nether River Patriarch’s lifelong treasures, and both were innate paragon treasures that specialized in killing, an aspect ranking them ahead across worlds.
And the reason that the Nether River Patriarch would offer them… was because he noticed that Jiang He’s sword had actually hurt him just now!
That sword light contained a frightening energy, piercing the blood sea and hurting his spirit.
He would have to slumber if he is maimed in spirit…
As for killing him? That had never crossed his mind.
At the very least, the Nether River Patriarch was sure that Jiang He was incapable of that.
He would never die as long as the Blood Sea did not fade.
Would a Demi-Saint like Jiang He be able to destroy the vast Blood Sea that stretched over half a constellation anyway?”
Nonetheless, Jiang He kept cutting the Blood Sea.
“If I killed you, both swords will be mine.”
His Secret Art of the Chaos Thundersword is both a physical and a spiritual attack… and that cut just now had allowed him to probe where the Nether River Patriarch’s spirit was. Even if the Blood Sea shrank by a third with a few swings of his swords, the Nether River Patriarch’s aura was much weaker now.
The Nether River Patriarch shrieked, turning from pleading to cursing, and ultimately resorted to threats…
“Jiang He! Lord Swelling Sky would never spare you!”
The Blood Sea that floated over the horizon suddenly shrank, turning into the Nether River Patriarch in his blood-hued robes. He was now hysterical and glaring at Jiang He with a bloody glint of hate.

His aura was frail, but he promptly turned, throwing himself to the massive Blood Sea that covered half of Sura…
He was born in the Blood Sea.
Once inside, Jiang He would never be able to hurt him. He could draw energy from the Blood Sea, regenerating and strengthening his combat ability.
But would Jiang He allow him to do that?
Teleporting in front of the Nether River Patriarch, Jiang He unleashed the Twilight of the Gods—Fists of the Six Paths of Reincarnation, third style.
In that instant, twilight seemed to shroud the world itself.
As a matter of fact, the Nether River Patriarch was feeling a force akin to the Five Deaths rapidly infecting his entire body. All he felt was an unusual desperation as if he had arrived upon the twilight of his own lifetime, with all his killing intent and will to fight decaying uncontrollably.
Pow!

Jiang He punched him down with a single fist!
In a lethal fight, how would anyone survive without killing intent or the will to fight?
“The Twilight of the Gods has this effect too?”
This was the first time Jiang He had ever used the Twilight of the Gods. In spite of his surprise, he had combined sword and fists to thoroughly subjugate the Nether River Patriarch!
Right after being punched into pieces, Nether River Patriarch would quickly regenerate, only to be punched into pieces again…
“Jiang He!”
“As long as I draw breath, your death is certain!”
He bellowed in fury, self-destructing his spirit and physical form, with a thread of his true spirit leaping into the blood sea.
“What a pity.”
Jiang He had already expected this.
The Nether River Patriarch was difficult to kill, though all he had to do was to not kill him.
With only a fragment of his true spirit left after being cornered by Jiang He to such extent, the Nether River Patriarch would need at least dozens of thousands of years to recover.
And that length of time was too long for Jiang He, who had cultivated for over less than ten years. He certainly was not bothered to think about something so far flung in the future.
He looked ahead, where a blood-hued sword and a Spatial Ring floated in the air.
“Is this the Infinite Pain Sword?”
Reaching out, Jiang He collected the Infinite Pain Sword and the Spatial Ring.
It goes without saying that the Infinite Pain Sword was an innate paragon treasure.
Likewise, the Spatial Ring was filled with treasures, including over a dozen soul treasure aside from truckloads of immortal crystals.
Still, most of the soul treasures were quite plain, and the best of the lot was a silver superior-grade acquire soul treasure armor.
It was normal, as plain soul treasures for those who cultivated to the Nether River Patriarch’s level… and would not need to wear that armor.
He must have been storing these soul treasures as an afterthought.
Jiang He soon managed to find the three remaining fragments of the God-Killing Spear as well, but…
“Aside from the Yuan Killer Sword and the Infinite Pain Sword, the Nether River Patriarch also wielded the Rank Twelve Red Lotus of the Virtuous Flames … but where is it?”
Jiang He turned toward the Blood Sea, and faintly sense the power of virtue flames from that item just then…
“It’s hidden in the Blood Sea?”
Jiang He was about to attempt extracting it when his danger sense tingled.
“Dumbo, Trumbo, Cloudscraper Vine—return!” he barked, putting Dumbo, Trumbo, and Cloudscraper Vine back into this Farm before space and time split apart, and Lord Swelling Sky stepped out from the other side.
There were a pair of wings over his back and his entire body exuded a holy presence. Staring at Jiang He, he faintly smiled, “Where would you run now, Jiang He?”
“Don’t worry…”
“My patriarch and the Demons’ patriarch have moved simultaneously to hold off the Saints of the Three Realms for me, since they can’t kill you directly.”
An unusual energy extended away from Lord Sweling Sky then, freezing and sealing all of the dimensions around Sura.
Jiang He did not try to break it, however, and merely whipped out the Yuan Killer Sword and point it at Lord Swelling Sky while laughing icily.
“Swelling Sky, you wretch… I’ve been waiting a long time for this! Fight me!”

A Titan's Crusade
Erik Thayne spent most of his life being brutally ridiculed and tormented for his weight and physical appearance, among other things. A social pariah and diagnosed with an eating disorder no one has an explanation or treatment for, Erik spent years trying to overcome his issues with his personal image and escape the ridicule and vicious torment of his peers. After years of dedicated effort, and a fresh start in a town away from his childhood and adolescent tormentors, he had finally begun to truly realize what he'd been striving for all along. Only, fate apparently has other plans because in the blink of an eye, Erik found himself snatched from Earth and taken to another universe, another world, where he is offered the chance to be more than he'd ever imagined. Now, he has to fight to restore the Balance between Chaos and Order on a world of swords and magic, in a universe governed by the System's laws, which resemble those of RPGs from Earth. Erik learned to embrace the things about himself that others taught him to hate, using them to reforge his physical identity into something more removed from his old self-loathing. But can he learn to embrace the darkest parts of his mind just as he did the reviled aspects of his body and become who he needs to be to succeed in the task set before him? It might just prove easier to stalk in the dark as a monster than to walk in the light as a man... *This is my first time publishing anything I've written to a public audience. Due to formatting issues, I forwent traditional stat-screens for something a little less problematic, delineating stat screens by separating them from regular text with horizontal lines in a lighter-grey coloration. Let me know if you like them or not. Criticism is entirely welcome, but please don't hate on my work after only reading 1 chapter. This is a writing project I intend to complete but I have committment problems so we'll see how long this goes on. Also, fair warning, as the description implies, the main protagonist is intended to be someone who has been treated cruelly, developed antisocial tendencies, and ultimately has to question his own humanity--or lack thereof. This story is not intended to be brutally dark but I will definitely be trying to follow a darker theme. It is intended to be violent and some scenes later in the story might be...alarming. There will likely also be some light, non-graphic (think more implied with crude jokes and conversation than actual details, there will be no full-blown sex scenes)relationship scenes planned later and if you're opposed to either a bisexual or gay main character, stay away. I haven't yet decided which way he's going to swing but the odds on him being straight are relatively miniscule, and I've always wanted to write a story about a gay man who basically looks like a lumberjack because who doesn't like giving conventional stereo-types the middle finger? This will NOT be a harem story, and I have no intention to focus on romance over action--it's a consequence of character development where I'm concerned, not the be-all-end-all of the story. The cover-art does not, in any way, belong to me. It was an image titled the Druid King (by duskanmarkovic according to the file name) which I found on Google Images. Until I can get something commissioned, this is the best stand-in image I could find.
