Chapter 530: 530
Chapter 530: I Won’t Argue Since I’m In A Good Mood!
Since all fifty-three graves belonged to Grand Luo, they would grow slowly and only sprout after three days.
There was a touch of green on top of it, with a faint glow of immortal light that was a beautiful crystalline emerald.
On the other hand, the inferior-grade and mediocre-grade immortal items were much easier to plant.
While Jiang He lay on the Farm’s beach and sunbathed, he instructed Dumbo and the others to plant the items, which could be harvested in three hours.
After one batch was planted and harvested, the next batch would follow.
His Farm Points would hence slowly increase.
And on the fourth day of returning to the Celestial Court…
[+1 million Farm Points.]
[+100,000 Farm Points.]
System Notifications jingled repeatedly in his head, and Jiang He spoke to Dumbo while he harvested the immortal items in his Farm, “Remember to keep the items organized when you plant them—group inferior-grade immortal items with other inferior-grade immortal items, and mediocre-grade with mediocre-grade.”
Jiang He found the noise of ‘one million’, ‘a hundred thousand’ and the like unbearable.
Behind him, Trumbo was acting all serious as he took out a little notebook, jotting down all of Jiang He’s instructions.
Dumbo himself put down the immortal items, grouping them before putting them into Spatial Ring, counting as he did so.
“Master, the 900,000 mediocre-grade immortal items have all been planted, along with two-thirds of the other 3.6 million inferior-grade immortal items, with less than 1.2 million left… We need three days to plant everything if we follow the current rate.”
Dumbo reported, “Moreover, the person Jade Emperor sent yesterday brought along 300,000 superior-grade immortal items, 50,000 premium-grade immortal items, and 103 acquired soul treasure… and the Jade Emperor himself had mentioned that those are everything the Jade Emperor had kept in store.”
“Why are there so few premium-grade immortal items and acquired soul treasures?”
Jiang He frowned, clearly dissatisfied with the number.
Leaving aside the premium-grade immortal items since 50,000 was no small sum, why were there only a hundred over acquired soul treasure?
Unbeknownst to him…
Mystic treasures were rarer the higher their grade.
In fact, there were not many factions that could take out this many premium-grade immortal items and acquired soul treasures, not to mention that these items were all stored in the Jade Emperor’s vault.

After harvesting the immortal items, Jiang He left the Farm and started playing with his maids in the palace where the Jade Emperor had arranged for him to stay.
Soon, another day had passed.
Jiang He was plucking immortal items as he usually did when Hu Mei came to him, saying, “Master, a general has arrived outside to visit you. He claims that he’s a good friend of yours.”
Jiang He had wanted to tell Hu Mei to send them away when an idea occurred to him, and he asked, “What does that general look like?”
“Very dark skin, thick brows, huge eyes, bear stubble and a flashing golden armor.”
Hu Mei searched her mind in reply. “He was smiling and his teeth is unusually white.”
Unusually white teeth?
Jiang He was amused.
For immortals, their teeth would not yellow since there would not be impurities in the teeth at their level… it is only if a person’s skin was especially dark that their teeth would appear unusually white as a matter of contrast.
And the Jade Emperor’s clone… was really dark-skinned.
Stepping out of the farm and seeing the Golden Armor General, Jiang He promptly offered a fist-palm salute and smiled. “Your Majesty, why have you come to visit with your clone?”
The Golden Armor General was seated crudely as he chewed on some grapes, laughing out loud, “There wouldn’t be any wars for the time being after the last battle at the Grand Luo battlefield. I’m a little bored, so I’ve come to have a chat with you.”
“Oh, right, the Green Hill Foxes have come to the Celestial Court.”
The Golden Armor General added then, “Their clan elder has mentioned that they’ve come to settle a grudge with you, and I myself have heard about what happened between you and them. The descendants they’ve left on the homeworld had certainly misbehaved, and in your shoes, I would have done the same thing under the same circumstances.”
“But there’s no hurry to meet them. Let’s hang out before that.”
Jiang He was a little emotional at the mention of the Green Hill Foxes.
He had set himself two little objectives when he first came to the celestial battlefield… the first was to cut the karmic ties between himself and the Nether River Patriarch.
And the second was to resolve his differences with the Green Hill Foxes at Uttarakuru.

How could he have expected that he would fail the first objective and now have a greater karmic rift against the Nether River Patriarch, and neglected the Green Hill Foxes… they even came knocking on his doorstep now.
That is the approach to settling a grudge!
Jiang He began to think—should he be nicer when meeting the leaders of the Green Hill Foxes?
As they chatted, Jiang He then asked, “Your Majesty, about the wars across worlds… is there a usually lot of fighting?
“What ‘Your Majesty’?”
The Golden Armor General shot him a glare and spoke rather coarsely, “This is just a clone of mine—you don’t have to be so formal.”
“I’m just a few years older than you are. Just call me brother if you like.”
Jiang He was dumbstruck.
Are you sure you’re just a few years old, and not a few hundred thousand?
Still, since Jiang He himself was not used to addressing the Jade Emperor as ‘Your Majesty’ repeatedly, he simply said, “Brother Golden Armor.”
“Oh!”
The Golden Armor General laughed loudly, and toasted Jiang He, savoring his wine.
At the height of pleasure, Jiang He waved his hand, taking out seven pieces of paper with a smile. “Please take a look, Brother Golden Armor…”
As he spoke, he breathed out a breath of Immortal Qi.
Swish.

Meanwhile, on another side of the Celestial Court, the elders and clan leaders of the Green Hill Foxes were very nervous in comparison. All of them were huddled together and had no appetite even though various divine food and wine were placed upon the table.
“Clan leader!”
A white-haired old man with a nose and ears that retain a fox’s features was pacing around when he suddenly stopped and carefully glanced at an immortal solider outside the palace in grief. “Hmph… How much blood and sweat have the Green Hill Foxes offered to the Three Realms over the last few years? Even so, the Jade Emperor would not grant us an audience now that Jiang He is at the celestial court…”
The air in the room turned cold even before the Elder could finish.
The clan leader of the Green Hill Foxes turned to level a cold look at him.
Looking around at the other elders, he coldly said, “Don’t forget why we’ve come, elders!”
“Though we claim that we are here to visit Jiang He, we are actually here to apologize and take responsibility, so that the grudge between us is resolved!”
“All of you would know about Jiang He’s methods… any elder who can’t lower their pride, please leave now. Don’t act high and mighty when we meet Jiang He!”
The clan leader’s gaze darkened, his tone becoming sinister then, “Otherwise, don’t blame me for being heartless when the time comes!”
The other elders promptly fell silent.
In reality, they had a complex relationship with this elder.
Even though the youngest elder was up to four times older than the clan leader, all of them put together would not win against the clan leader!
Things stayed like this for another two days, when an immortal soldier knocked and opened their door, greeting respectfully, “My lords, His Majesty has offered an invitation.”
The leaders of the Green Hill Foxes hence followed the soldier ahead on the cloudy walkways of the Celestial Court, and soon arrived outside the palace where Jiang He was staying.
They could hear a wave of laughter even from the distance, and the soldier said courteously then, “Please wait for a moment, my lords. I shall send word right now.”
The immortal soldier entered the palace, but he never came out…
Then, a big black dog stepped out instead.
Wearing a pair of baggy pants and aviator glasses, it was standing on its rear legs and wore a pompous look on its face.
Who else could it be other than Dumbo?
It rolled its eyes in irritation before shooting the leaders of the Green Hill Foxes a look of disdain and coldly said, “My master has asked you to go in…”
Having spoken, he turned and headed inside the palace, muttering as he went, “Are the leaders of the Green Hill Foxes really so weak? If I had my say, we could just kill them all—why bother making peace?”
The leaders of the Green Hill Foxes felt their hearts pounding then.
Nonetheless, Dumbo turned around and bared its teeth in a smile, “No worries, Brother. I’ve just said that on a whim… in the end, Uttarakuru is quite far and my master is quite lazy. Since you people have come, just be sincere when you apologize—my master just might refrain from arguing if he’s in a good mood.”
And yet, the leaders of the Green Hill Foxes became even nervous at that.
If he wouldn’t argue if he’s in a good mood…
Then what would happen if he was in a bad mood?

When they get dragged into a grand scheme to unpick the ancient secrets entombed within one its foremost forbidden zones in their world, the Yin Eclipse Mountains, they must all try to survive the dark machinations, eldritch undercurrents and the echoes of a terrible conflict trying to re-emerge into an unsuspecting cosmos that had rather hoped it was done with that kind of thing a few eras hence. So please come join Arai, Sana, Juni, Ling, Shu and the rest of my cast as they journey through strange lands, meet all kinds of unusual beings and unravel some of the power and glory of a land time tried very hard to forget. I promise terrifying mushrooms, angry snakes, confused gods, even more confused cultivators and much, much more! Update schedule: (02/6/2022) As chapters are done, sorry. Progress: Currently up to old chapter 13-15. Chapter 24(or 25)/13, Parts 1 & 2 will be the end of the rework. Part 2 has been temporarily delayed due to me getting a frozen shoulder in the middle of June, which has been very slow to properly clear up. It is getting better, though, but Shoulder/neck is the worst set of muscles to have issues with ;( You can currently pick up most story threads after the rewritten chapters, starting from chapter 13-14 (old) Genre-wise, this is a bit hard to pin down. It's technically a Xianxia (because cultivators!), but it also veers towards Xuanhuan and has more traditional High Fantasy elements and a bit of Gods and Monsters and All Myths Are (on some levels) Valid. It also has a fairly large, ensemble cast, so if multiple point's of view are not your thing I am sorry. It won't ever really be considered 'grimdark' by any real measure of that definition but it does go to some complicated and fairly places dark occasionally, which I will note in author pre-chapter notes when expedient!. About the Author I mainly write fiction for my own hobby, it makes a nice change from academic scribbling! I started writing this quite a number of years ago. It has grown somewhat organically out of a bunch of different interests in all kinds of Mythology, World Building, Drawing Maps, Archaeology, Anthropology, History and Epic Fantasy fiction into what it is today. So I hope you enjoy the story and thanks for reading! Other stuff The cover is made by the author, using photos taken by the author. There is a Discord Server- Please come and chat, but beware of spoilers.

Patchwork System
Notification (cannot be ignored): For being the first being to kill another of its own species after Sublimation, Lyam Aldren is awarded the Title of Cain’s Successor. Let all fear the Kinslayer!!! Lyam Aldren, killer for hire, was just going about his business when he suddenly received a notification from something called the System. Apparently, the entirety of Earth, its denizens and its matter were transported into the world of the System, planted in 'patches' all throughout the infinite world. The world of the Patchwork System is one of challenges, where life is cheap, power is king, and Classes and levels are a thing. In a brutal world, there is perhaps room for a killer with bloodstained hands to find his own way, free of his past. However, his Title and his inherent nature plague him, his fragmented personality laid bare to those with the eyes to see, and if he doesn't become powerful enough to defeat or escape those who would use or destroy him, he will quickly be devoured by the merciless world created by the System. Compared to my previous work, this is a more 'classic' litrpg setup, with clear (if somewhat complex) progression through levels and skill gains, with a 'system apocalypse' setup. Unlike most system apocalypse story protagonists, Lyam is neither a leader nor is he particularly interested in saving his fellow Earthlings. This is a story of a man who is both endangered and set free by the destruction of his old world, as he finds both power, new discoveries, and adventure in a place where his past matters not at all and power is the only language most speak. Later in the story, there will be harem elements, but the first volume is dedicated to Lyam's first months in the System. For those who are more interested in the Heirs of the Hooded King, I am putting it on hiatus as I rework the setting and future story developments a bit.
