Chapter 527: 527
Chapter 527: Rank Twelve Red Virtue Flame Lotus
The Nether River Patriarch stood upon the borderless blood sea, his blood robes flapping loudly despite the lack of a wind.
He looked down loftily at Jiang He as if he was an ant he could crush with his fingertips at any moment.
In fact, that was what he believed.
Without the Chan Sect protecting him, he could kill Jiang He with a flick of his finger.
And yet, even before he could say more, he saw the numerous figures suddenly appearing beside Jiang He… their auras might not be much for the Nether River Patriarch, who was unmatched barred Saints, the problem was that…
There were too many of them!
The Sura who was outside the Grand Luo battlefield only rushed to the scene after hearing the news, and by the time she arrived, both Jiang He and the Golden Armor General had already rushed inside with his legion, which was why she did not see the three hundred pseudo-Overdeities.
And since she did not see them, she naturally did not mention them to the Nether River Patriarch when she alerted him.
As for the Nether River Patriarch himself, he was overflowing with killing intent when he arrived at the entrance of the Grand Luo battlefield, which naturally left the elites hiding nearby stunned.
Who among them would dare to mention the matter?
At the same time, the Nether River Patriarch’s expression darkened.
Over a hundred elites who were almost equal to Grand Luo?
It was quite troublesome, but for elites of his level, it would not actually matter if there was too huge a gap in abilities.
And yet…
It all happened at a thought.
The Nether River Patriarch could hear Jiang He, pointing at himself over the blood sea and barking, “Blow him the hell up!”
What was that supposed to mean?
Was that a curse?
Still, it all happened in a matter of an instant.
The one hundred pseudo-Overdeities all cried out at once, “Yes, Master!”
In the next instant, like moths to a flame, they all darted toward the churning blood sea.
“No…”
The Jade Emperor was agonized by the sight and quickly said, “Jiang He, you don’t have to go so far… I am the Lord of the Three Realms, and the Nether River Patriarch would have to give me face, and my true form would come if push comes to shove… I could also direct the forces of the Celestial Court here, and we will stand a chance against the Nether River Patriarch!”

Communication through divine mind was quick.
And yet, the pseudo-Overdeities were even quicker.
As all of them flew toward the borderless blood sea, the Nether River Patriarch laughed coldly and raised a hand to suppress them.
With his hand gesture, the blood sea turned into a gigantic hand.
Kaboom!
A pseudo-Overdeity self-destructed and directly blew away that blood hand.
“What?”
The Nether River Patriarch’s face twitched and he promptly directed the power of the blood sea to keep suppressing the pseudo-Overdeities.
However, a series of explosion continued to echo, tearing apart all of outer space as dozens more pseudo-Overdeities self-destructed, tearing the blood sea apart by force.
Then, all the seventy or so Grand Luo left directly flew at the Nether River Patriarch.
“Sh*t…”
The Nether River Patriarch cursed before turning into a blood light and disappearing.
The remaining seventy Grand Luo continued their pursuit over several hundred thousand kilometers, but were unable to catch up.
“Back!”
Jiang He ordered, and soon said regrettably, “What a shame… a Demi-Saint who could not be matched by anyone other than Saints is incredibly good at escaping in the first place…”
***
The Nether River Patriarch, having fled several hundred thousand kilometers away, landed on a planet, his aura now a little weakened… his blood sea had been blown up repeatedly and destroyed considerably, which hurt him considerably.
There was a look of utter disbelief on his face and he mumbled, “How… how…”
“Why did those elites blow himself up with a single order?”
There was cold sweat flowing over his back and forehead, the latter of which he wiped off in fright, “These elites are not weaker than Grand Luo and seemed similar to the gods of the west… but why would they listen to Jiang He? Why would they self-destruct with no hesitation at his orders?”
The Nether River Patriarch simply could not wrap his head around it.
However, he understood that Jiang He was untouchable to him now.
If dozens of Grand Luo self-destructed together, they would maim him even if he couldn’t kill him.
The last time he was maimed, he had to slumber for ten thousand years to recover. If he was maimed again this time, and down to his essence, he would hardly recover without dozens of thousand years.

And yet, that was when the Nether River Patriarch heard a loud laughter—
“Master, look!”
“We’ve found a little cutie over here…”
“Her aura is quite similar to that old mongrel just now!”
Sound does not conduct in space.
That voice reached him because an elite had deliberately sent tremors through Dao.
“Oh, no…”
The Nether River Patriarch’s expression changed as he promptly looked up millions of kilometers away, to find that the female Grand Luo Sura had been surrounded by a dog, a cat, nine monkeys, and seven children.
***
“What a devilishly charming woman!”
Jiang He could not help thinking when he turned towards the Grand Luo Sura.
For Suras, the single greatest asset was that the men were extremely ugly, while the women were devilishly beautiful.
Landing in front of the female sura, Jiang He smiled. “It’s a shame that I’m a man of vengeance and not lust… I would not hold back even against a beauty that could destroy nations, let alone a pretty face.”
He stared at the Grand Luo Sura who was beaten with an inch of a life by Dumbo and the others and coolly said, “I picked up the Yuan Killer Sword in my Farm and promised to return it in a few years, but your patriarch kept trying to kill me and more than once at that… what can I do?”
“I can only resist…”
As he spoke, he drew his sword, about to end her with a slash.
That was when a loud bellow rang—
“Stop!”
The Nether River Patriarch had returned, his face contorted with anger as he growled, “When did you say you would return the Yuan Killer Sword in a few years?”
“You have the guts to come back?”
Amused, Jiang He waved his hand and a hundred figures appeared instantly in front of him again.
Laughing, he said, “I was just about to go to Sura to talk to you, but you saved me the trouble since you came back.”
What the hell…
The Nether River Patriarch’s brows twitched. That fellow had just sent over ten elites to self-destruct, and now there were a hundred of them… how many of those elites did he have?
And he says that he is going to Sura…
Is he threatening me?!
Someone other than the Saints in this world is actually threatening me?
Nonetheless, having seen the hundred over elites with violent auras who were ready to self-destruct from the corner of his eye, the Nether River Patriarch held back his rage and said with a scowl, “Jiang He, when did you say you would return the Yuan Killer Sword in a few years?”
Jiang He replied, “I didn’t?”
“You told me you would only return it after you become Demi-Saint?”
“Isn’t that the same thing?”
Jiang He spread his hands, speechless. “Look, didn’t we just meet a year and a half ago? I would definitely reach Demi-Saint in another year and a half.”
Shunk!
As he spoke, he swung his sword, directly killing the Grand Luo Sura in body and spirit.
“Jiang He!”
The Nether River Patriarch roared…
Nonetheless, he held back his rage when he saw the hundred over elites flying towards him, and growled, “Brother Jiang He… we are both of the Three Realms. There’s no problem if I have to lend you the Yuan Killer Sword for three years…”
“Three years?”
Jiang He laughed. “You hunted me twice, and you still want the Yuan Killer Sword back?”
His tone changed as he bared his killing intent and laughed fearsomely. “There’s only two choices for you now… either you die, or I live!”
I die or you live?
Isn’t that the same thing?
No longer able to hold back his rage, the Nether River Patriarch moved, turning into a flash of blood light as he dashed toward Jiang He.
Kaboom!
A pseudo-Overdeity abruptly blew up in front of Jiang He, stopping the blood light.
In the next instant, however, a blood lotus unfurled in the area.
Time and space in every corner of it stagnated as everything was sealed.
Jiang He even felt his cultivation and martial cultivation being sealed.
“The Rank Twelve Virtue Flame Red Lotus!” the Jade Emperor’s clone growled.
Then, the Golden Armor General instantly changed into a spreading, dazzling golden light while an imposing voice spoke, “Nether River! Jiang He is my good friend, so please stop!”

Discord Community: https://discord.gg/3tHKHAx7Ye The Vitaean Chronicles are a debut LitRPG High Fantasy series written with the intent of filling a niche I've yet to see filled anywhere else. This is my first novel of this kind, so please be patient with me. Throughout this story, I will endeavour to create an evolving and expansive narrative anchored around believable characters, compelling plotlines, and a consistent and sensible magic system. The purpose of this work is to create what I believe to be a relatively unique piece of fiction, drawing inspiration from many great stories that have come before from the likes of Tolkien, Jordan, Hertbert, Goodkind, Pratchett, Martin, and several others. My goal is not to create a masterpiece, but simply to create a story that someone can read and re-read with the same joy, same frustration, and same investment each time. This story will contain violence, politics, Shakespearian drama, tongue-in-cheek references, adult content, and well-crafted relationships of both platonic and romantic natures. I will not promise you will like every choice I make. I can only guarantee that I will do my best to create a story I, and you, can be proud of. As I progress, I will have room to incorporate fan-made characters for those interested in making their mark within the tapestry of this tale (with the customary disclaimer that they do so while waiving any rights to future profit, lol). Thank you to Royal Road for giving me the platform to do that, and thank you dear readers past, present, and future for choosing to come on this journey with me. Finally, just to cover myself: This work is Copyrighted to the Author herein known as 'Hannibal Forge', and recreation, distribution, or re-release of any material herein in a commercial or public capacity absent permission from the Author can and will be prosecuted to the full extent of the Law.
