Chapter 498: 498
Chapter 498: You’re The Nether River Patriarch?
Primeval—this was a world that stretched on for untold light years and could match an entire planetary system in size alone .
The gigantic continent floated on the edge of the celestial battlefield, facing the territories of Gods, Demons, insectoids, and various other hegemons .
Though the celestial battlefield was itself a Secret Realm, it was exceedingly huge that there were extreme distances between the hegemons of various space hegemons, and had to be calculated in terms of light years .
Right now, outside the Hollow Jade Temple in Primeval, Tu Xing Sun was flying toward the distance with a grin that extended all over his face .
Jiang He had come!
He only had a few words and several meetings with Jiang He back on Earth, and at most allowed him to refine his mystic treasure .
Though Jiang He revealed fearsome strength and was already a Grand Luo, Tu Xing Sun did not think much of him…
Tu Xing Sun himself may not be Grand Luo, but he was at least a full-fledged Golden Immortal . Though it was bottom-feeder level among the third-generation disciples of the Chan Sect, it was not too weak—he was prepared to seclude himself to cultivate upon his return from the homeworld this time and reach Grand Luo in one go .
In fact, there were so many elites in the Hollow Jade Temple that aside from their twelve famous immortals, even the average second-generation disciples or the more famous third-generation disciple were mostly Grand Luo . It was only natural for Tu Xing Sun to not think highly of Jiang He .
However, after returning from Earth, Tu Xing Sun had the fortune of an audience with the Primeval Lord of Heaven, hence learning that either Jiang He or Wang Hou would have a chance of becoming a Saint .
Even if they could not, those two still carried inestimable future as they were born amid the new age of Fortune Qi in the homeworld .
Indeed, it takes something special to have the Primeval Lord of Heaven say something like ‘inestimable’ .

Therefore, once Tu Xing Sun was contacted by his senior brother Yu Quan Zi , he promptly moved and headed off to Swift Star .
However, just as he flew several dozens of thousand miles out of the Hollow Jade Temple, he was contacted by Yu Quan Zi again .
He was left rather perplexed .
Brother Yu Quan Zi is asking for me again?
Taking out a communications jade charm and feeling it out, Tu Xing Sun’s face fell . Various ideas occurred to him in that very moment, and he turned with a whoosh, then rushed toward the Hollow Jade Temple .
While the Chan Sect’s Hollow Jade Temple hovered in the air and was hidden in dense immortal mist, there were long chains of mountains that stretched on beneath it .
Many Chan Sect disciples were cultivating in these mountains, and Tu Xing Sun’s own master Ju Liu Sun was there . He is one of the Hollow Jade Temple’s twelve immortals who possessed unparalleled strength and was a personal disciple of a Saint, hence occupying a peak in those mountains that would not lose out to Grotto-Heavens .
Whoosh!
Tu Xing Sun flew toward it and landed at the foot of the mountain .
There was a winding mountain road connected to the ridge of the mountain, beside of which stood a stone plaque marked with the words ‘Mount Jialong’ .
Tu Xing Sun bowed at the stone plaque and a composed voice spoke then, “Aren’t you supposed to be secluding yourself in the Hollow Jade Temple to seek your Dao, Tu Xing Sun? Why come to Mount Jialong?”
“Master,” Tu Xing Sun explained, “I have received word from Brother Yu Quan Zi that Jiang He had arrived at Swift Star . ”
“Jiang He? The one your martial grandfather mentioned?”
“Yes . ”
“We should meet them, then . ”
As Ju Liu Sun’s voice spoke again, Tu Xing Sun’s tone changed as he added, “However, I have just received word from Brother Yu Quan Zi that Jiang He had somehow offended the Nether River Patriarch, and is now hunted as the Nether River Patriarch tracked down their karmic connection and has almost arrived at Swift Star!”

“What?”
Within Flying Cloud Cave a the ridge of Mount Jia Long, Ju Liu Sun, dressed in black-and-white Daoist robes and was similar to Tu Xing Sun in frame, appeared before him in a flash, exclaiming in surprise, “The Nether River Patriarch has revived? How did Jiang He managed to offend him?”
Tu Xing Sun shook his head, while Ju Liu Sun pondered for several seconds .
He certainly could recognize the question that Yu Quan Zi could think of . However, being one of the Twelve Immortals of Hollow Jade Palace, the thought of lowering himself in status to build ties with a younger Grand Luo was a little demeaning no matter how one thought about it .
Still, with the notion that Jiang He could become a Saint in the future…
Ju Liu Sun was promptly incensed .
“How bold of the Nether River Patriarch to cause trouble on Swift Star!”
“Make haste for Swift Star, Tu Xing Sun . I’ll be right behind you . ”
Tu Xing Sun acknowledged his orders before turning to leave .
On the other hand, Ju Liu Sun took out his communications jade charm to send a message .
“Senior Brother, do you remember Jiang He of the homeworld?”
“Yes, the one our master spoke of . He is now in Swift Star, and word is that he had offended the Nether River Patriarch . ”
“Junior Brother…”
***
In Sky City, Swift Star, worry was written all over Wang Hou’s face, just as Yu Quan Zi was a little restless .
They would be lying if they said they were not afraid of the Nether River Patriarch who once dominated worlds .
On the other hand, Jiang He, the person directly involved in the affair, was utterly composed .
Eating the delicious dishes prepared by the servants of Yu Quan Zi’s mansion and various divine delicacies of average taste but not obtainable on Earth, he chuckled, “Brother Yu Quanzi, why is your city known as the Sky City?”
“It is a name bestowed by our martial grandfather . I do not know the reason . ”
“Oh?”
Jiang He could not help resisting a twinkle in his eye . “Could there have been some conflict between the Primeval Lord of Heaven of the Chan Sect and the Grandmaster of Heaven from the Jie Sect?”
Yu Qian Zi’s face fell and he promptly said, “People like us cannot comment freely on matters between Saints . ”
Wang Hou, on the other hand, was at a loss for words . “You still have the mood to talk about that, Jiang He? From where I’m standing, we should be moving along—after we reach the celestial battlefield, he would have to keep himself in check no matter how powerful he is . ”
“Why should we head there?”
Jiang He appeared confused . “I, Jiang He, have cultivated for almost 2 years and fought countless battles . Each of my opponents were untold times stronger than myself, but did all of them not end up killed by my hands?”
“Moreover, though my possession of the Yuan Killer Sword has tied me to the Nether River Patriarch by karma, I had written him a letter of explanation and offered many snacks in compensation, in hopes that we would end things there . I didn’t imagine him to be that shameless!”
Jiang He’s tone turned cold at the last part .
Laughing coldly, he added sinisterly, “Aside from being bored at home and wanting to stretch my legs, I had come to the battlefield with the intent to end things with the Nether River Patriarch as well as the Green Hill Foxes . I would not have minded treating them to a banquet, sitting down with them, and laughing it off, but since the Nether River Patriarch is unwilling…”
Pausing, Jiang He suddenly looked up at the skies and coolly said, “Then I shall use my own method to end things . ”
In that very moment, the skies over Swift Star was dyed in the color of blood, and a frightening aura erupted beyond .
Up above Sky City, a blood-colored face looked down, its bloody gaze glaring coldly at Jiang He as it smiled ferociously . “Found you, insect!”
“Nether River Patriarch!”
Yu Quan Zi and Wang Hou’s expressions changed at that .
On the other hand, Jiang He returned the Nether River Patriarch’s gaze fearlessly, even smiling at him .
“So you’re the Nether River Patriarch?”
“Did you receive my letter and compensation?”

Mordheim: Servants of The Damned (A Warhammer Fantasy Fiction)
“The Great Library,” Stated the stranger with a pause. “You know of it?”“Of course I do. In the Merchant’s Quarter?”“Yes, in the Merchant’s Quarter. I have gathered that there is an… artefact of importance within its walls.” Slowly, the figure produced a rusted key from the furls of his robes and held it in a black-gloved hand. “This opens the door to its chambers. It is the grimoire of Gunnar von Krugenheim, and I believe that it would serve better in the world than locked away in a dusty room.” Behind the cursed walls of Mordheim, warbands and gangs of all stripes are embattled in constant wars for resources and power. The cursed city attracts throngs in the thousands, searching for treasures, artefacts, power, and sometimes all three. The Cult of the Hidden Brethren is no exception, and when an opportunity to extend their reach is discovered, the cultists are eager to take the opportunity. However, not all is set in stone, and soon the cultists discover that the lure of power alone may not be enough to give them the drive required to see their quest done... --- Mordheim: Servants of the Damned is a fanfiction set in the world of Warhammer Fantasy, which is not owned by me but by the company Games Workshop. I of course, lay claim to nothing in this story but the characters I have created, and the core events of the story itself. This is my first true foray into fantasy writing, let alone Warhammer Fantasy, therefore any feedback is welcome. (It should be noted as well, the cover art is merely an artwork I found online and is not mine, therefore I do not lay claim to that either.)
