Chapter 293: An Awkward Encounter Inside The Stargate
Chapter 293: An Awkward Encounter Inside The Stargate
On Earth, in the skies directly above Jiang He’s mansion in Jinyintan Village, the spatial ripple that the Stargate had caused when it formed had left all martial elites stunned . The old monk of the Shaolin Temple, the old Daoist of Mount Qingcheng, and the others were about to move and rush to the scene when Wang Hou quickly stopped them, saying, “Dear elders, patience . ”
He then repeated what Jiang He said…
Of course, he had to replace some words and his tone since Jiang He had put it rather badly . Though Wang Hou himself did not mind since he was used to it, he was afraid that the elders present would get uncomfortable .
Still, the Void-tier elites—the old monk from Shaolin Temple, the old Daoist from Mount Qingcheng, the sloppy Daoist of Mount Wudang, the Jiang clan’s elder and the Guo clan’s elder—were left taken aback by those words…
“Reckless…”
The old Daoist of Mount Qincheng muttered, and that was when a resounding rumble echoed and everyone turned to look .
What they found was a flame brighter than the sun ejecting out of the Stargate that had barely formed .
Even from afar, the might of the explosion left them palpitating after the fact .
“It’s here!”
“It’s here!”
“Bomberman…” Cheng Dongfeng cried out in shock inside Jingdu City .
Beside him, the ears on a pudgy figure pricked up, his already small eyes narrowing to slits upon hearing the explosive echoes, and he exclaimed in shock, “A thermonuclear bomb?”
“No, no, the sound of that explosion is different . ”
“But judging from the bang and the flames… the explosive yield is at least two hundred thousand tons!”
The fat self-proclaimed ‘munitions expert’ was speaking eloquently .
***
Outside the Stargate, Jiang He’s eyes shifted as he slapped out with one palm . A draconic roar thundered through the air as the silhouette of a golden dragon flew, knocking the flames back into the Stargate .
In the air above Lingzhou City, there was a twitch in Elder Guo’s look as he exclaimed in shock, “The Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palms?”

The old Shaolin monk and Elder Jiang all turned towards Elder Guo then, saying, “Is that Jiang He your brother?”
Elder Guo shook his head, looking baffled .
He did not even pass down the Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palms to his own clan disciples . How did that youth learn it?
Nearby, Wang Hou quietly said, “Perhaps… he had created it himself . ”
He did not dare to believe it himself, and so, had to stiffen himself right then . “The truth is that Jiang He is quite adept at creating martial techniques on his own . Aside from Elder Guo’s Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palms, he had also developed a body shielding technique that looked like a cross between the Shaolin Temple’s Indestructible Diamond and Golden Bell Shade along with something similar to Dragon Elephant Prajna . ”
Being an honest and frank person, Elder Guo exclaimed in awe at those words, “Are there actually such wonders in this world?”
However, the old Shaolin monk and the old Mount Qincheng Daoist clearly doubted it…
“Minister Wang is right . ”
That was when a voice reached them as the white-clothed guru arrived walking on air, smiling . “Jiang He is really good at creating cultivation techniques and I’ve seen the Dragon Elephant Prajna he created . It is superior in both potential and power compared to my sect’s own Dragon Elephant Prajna . ”
Everyone turned toward the white-clothed guru with baffled looks .
Was he from the Tantra Sect?
When did such an elite like him appeared among the Tantra Sect?
Weren’t everyone in the Tantra Sect lamas?
On the other hand, this person had that shoulder-length hair, scorn on his face and a folding fan between his fingers…
The white-clothed guru was not bothered to explain much to the others either… these old men shared no common ground with himself, since he was 200 years older than Elder Guo, who was the oldest among the others…
After a long silence, everyone looked up toward the horizon .
Up in the skies, Jiang He was sitting cross-legged just outside the Stargate and munching on sunflower seeds . Then, getting a little thirsty, he flew back inside his house and took out a pot of Big Red Robe .

There was not one bit of impatience or worry on his face .
Why rush?
Would the Sky Demon legion not come if he was worried?
As for the Doom Shrooms…
Throwing those now was too early since there was not even a whiff of the Sky Demon legion .
The Doom Shroom just now was just a test .
He had to ensure the stability of the Stargate so he wouldn’t blow it up directly when he threw hundreds of Doom Shrooms inside . When that happens, he certainly could stop the Sky Demon legion from coming, but…
His own house might be flattened from the ensuing shockwave as well, and not even Lingzhou City, which was fifteen kilometers away, could be said .
If that happened, the loss far outweighed the gains .
“It seems that my worries were excessive . I definitely could use the Doom Shrooms as much as I want . ”
Jiang He then threw a handful of sunflower seed shells into the Stargate, thinking to himself, ‘Opening the Stargate involves spatial energies . Brute force from bombs alone can’t destroy it . ’
“The only thing that could prove troublesome is when hundreds of Doom Shrooms blow up and the shockwave spills out of the Stargate when that happens…”
Jiang He looked down at his yard .
The Stargate was aimed straight at his own house and if the energies vented out from there, his house would definitely be gone .
“So, I must come up with an idea to block the Stargate to ensure the explosion would not spill out . ”
Meanwhile, Jiang He continued munching on purple golden sunflower seeds for over an hour and could actually feel his spirit improve by a small notch, but somehow could not find any signs of the Sky Demon legion for a long time .
“What the heck?”
“Is the Sky Demon legion all talk?”
Jiang He frowned, a little impatient now .
The Stargate before him was now almost ten meters wide… and seemed to have stop expanding .
Reasonably speaking, they should be coming .
***
“The Stargate is stable . Legion, move out!” one of the high generals roared .
He had long fangs, a blue face and appeared very grotesque . Still, his aura was powerful and almost equal to a Yuan Spirit . Brandishing a sword, he leapt up into the Stargate .
“Kill!”
“Take Earth and avenge Her Highness!”
With that, the Sky Demon champions rushed into the Stargate and the legion of five hundred thousand went in last…
After all, the Stargate could not hold them all at once . That was why their champions had to be the vanguard, clearing all obstacles outside the Stargate to ensure that the entire legion could enter safely .
***
“Should I… go in for a look?”
Outside the Stargate, Jiang He hesitated for a moment and gritted his teeth . Striding forward with a single step, he entered the Stargate .
He did not feel the sensation of the world spinning around him that he had expected, just as there was no spatial storm, space beam, space behemoths, or whatnot as described in novels . Likewise, there was no vast starry sky, just the single layer of spatial barrier .
Whipping out his phone, Jiang He wanted to take a photo in commemoration but found that he could not even turn on his phone in the Stargate . As such, he kept striding forward for around ten minutes since he had no sense of distance at all in the Stargate…
“Hmmm?”
Suddenly, Jiang He turned to look ahead .
There was an echoing sonic boom up front, following by a voice—
“Kill!”
“Take Earth and avenge Her Highness!”
After that, there were thunderous raging bellows and the sound of an army of millions on the move .
Then, a black-armored sky demon general appeared within Jiang He’s sight . He was leading the way alone, flying at the very front and shouting a battle-cry as he moved, “We shall take Earth, and…”
“Earthling?”
Screech!
The sky demon general abruptly stopped, his eyes tightening and glimmering as he stared at Jiang He .
Behind him, many figures were streaking through the air .
There was a total of seventy Sky Demon champions…
Jiang He did a double take .
It was such an awkward encounter…
He had wanted to wave in greeting, but once he remembered that they were Sky Demons, his unrelenting archnemeses…
Therefore, Jiang He took out another Doom Shroom .

The expression was fleeting, lasting for only a moment before it was replaced by a frown. "You could have fallen," he said pointedly."I know," Claire breathed, finding her thoughts drifting to the strong arm wrapped around her waist. A flush rose to her cheeks and she was grateful for the biting wind that masked her reaction. "Thank you.""You need to be more careful," he continued, his eyes locked on hers, bright and haunting in the silver glow of the moon overhead."I will," Claire assured him, her heart skipping in her chest.
