Chapter 61: Outrageous Bullies!

Should he scatter the rainsword in his hand, and greet Jiang He, pretending as if he were just passing by?

That certainly wouldn’t fly .

Nonetheless, after blanking out for two seconds, the water-type Awakened recovered .

“Die!”

He growled like a beast and launched the rainsword in his hand forward, stabbing it toward Jiang He . At the same time, raindrops around them splattered away, all of them surging toward Jiang He, clouding his vision .

“Dogs of the Sky Demon Cult!”

Furious, Jiang He charged his Strengthened Nine Yang Technique . The silhouette of the sun behind him hence became even more scorching, and the cascading rain was immediately cooked into white steam . Then, his hand slapped out, unleashing raging winds that cleared the steam away, just as a draconic silhouette leapt out of his palm and collided with the rainsword .

Crack .

The rainsword shattered, and the draconic silhouetted continued rumbling forward, striking toward the water-type Awakened who was left pale-white .

“What?!”

The water-type Awakened’s face dropped and promptly tried to hide in the sheet of rain, but even as he tried to sneak off, he could only feel an aching pain as his body became light, and he was thrown high into the air .

“No way! Even rank-six pinnacles would have a hard time blocking sword! And he only felt to me like rank-five advanced, so why is he so powerful?”

“Still, it’s a stormy day . Even if I can’t win, not even rank-seven grandmasters could stop me if I want to flee!”

Nonetheless, even as those thought crossed his mind as his body hovered in the air, blood poured freely out of his mouth and he slammed heavily on the ground and over a puddle on the road . Then, a car came zooming in—unable to brake in time because of the slippery road, it ran over the Awakened with a loud bang .

The Sky Demon Cultist who was ready to use the puddle to cast a water-type skill and flee simply felt his vision turn dark, and promptly fainted .

“…”

Jiang He, who was in pursuit covered his eyes . Still, he breathed a sigh of relief when he saw between his fingers that there was none of the mincemeat he expected to find, and only then did he call out, “Li Fei, come over here . Give me a hand . ”

Everything happened so quickly—pedestrians who were trying to rush home and get away from the rain, as well as the cars driving by had yet to realize what happened .

Even Li Fei and the others were left dumbstruck .

Meanwhile, inside the Martial Arts Department (MAD) .

Whoosh!

A figure bounded out of the ninth floor, stepping over thin air as he darted toward Jiang He’s direction .

He felt the bursts of auras just now .

Aside from Duan Tianhe, Pudgy Jiang and the other elites had sensed the violent auras of the clash too . All of them rushed to the scene as well, putting traffic at the crossroads on a standstill as all citizens nearby were left in shock .

“Three Waters Wei?”

Duan Tianhe was a little surprised by the face of the man, who was still unconscious and could well be dead .

Jiang He, on the other hand was staring straight at Duan Tianhe in astonishment . “Did you just… fly here?”

“I’ve just reached rank-seven—I can’t fly, though I could use the landscape for short skips over the air, and it wouldn’t have worked is the distance had been a little further . ” Duan Tianhe explained, before ordering his man to carry the corpses of Zhang Yu and Three Waters Wei back to the MAD .

Rising to his feet, he then said sonorously, “Everyone, please disperse!”

“We have apprehended the violent individuals, who were recently placed on the wanted list . ”

He spoke shortly, before instructing more of his men to help Li Fei and the others to help with traffic, and only then did he return to the MAD with Jiang He .

Just as they reached the building, Pudgy Jiang was already there with a thumb up and flattery . “Jiang He, this old man is definitely not doubting you now . Did you know how many resources and manpower we mobilized over the last few days to find these two scumbags? We certainly did not expect that the whole thing is resolved once you came . ”

Meanwhile, Jiang He was seated on the sofa in Duan Tianhe’s office, looking out into the distance, appearing slightly disconcerted .

After what felt like half a day, he suddenly opened his mouth . “Bullies! Those outrageous bullies!”

Bang!

He smashed his fist downward, and the coffee table in Duan Tianhe’s office was left in pieces with a loud crunch .

And yet, Jiang He did not even bother to look at it . He got to his feet, seething through gritted teeth, “The dogs of the Sky Demon Cult are all bullies! They did not even leave so much as a sign after hiding in the city for so long, and now they try to kill me when I just arrived?”

He was shaking with indignation .

Inside, he felt… an icy coldness!

What is going on with this world?

Was the Sky Demon Cult gunning for him just because of his good lucks?

Why weren’t they making an attempt on other people?

And that really proved his worries before… even on the street, he would have to be wary against being stabbed in the back at any given moment!

As angry aura exuded from Jiang He and he clenched his fists until they were cracking, he turned toward Duan Tianhe and growled, “Chief Duan . Where is the lair of the Sky Demon Cult?”

“I don’t know . ” Duan Tianhe said, shaking his head, and then flashed a pain smile . “If that was known, elites across every nation would have joined forces and went knocking down their doorstep . Moreover, they have countless elites lurking there, and rank-seven heavenly generals alone number up to seventy-two, corresponding to the seventy-two Fiends . Moreover, there is also the thirty-six Decans amongst them . ”

“The Decans are all rank-eight, and the Sky Demon Cult address them as the Grands . ”

“And ranking above the Decans is the Elder Guardian… and a divine champion beyond rank-nine!”

“They are that powerful?”

Jiang He did a double take .

He wouldn’t win against them!

That was when someone rushed in the office whilst holding a satellite phone, saying, “Chief Duan, we found this phone on Three Waters Wei . He has regained consciousness, which was why we got an elite hypnotist to deal with him . Even so, he is still a class-B Awakened, and his spirit is too powerful to get him under . ”

“That said, we discovered from the call records of this phone that he contacted the Tranquil Heavenly General twenty-minutes ago . The signal was encrypted, however, so we can’t determine the location of the other end right now . ”

“Oh?”

Jiang He walked up to the MAD officer and took the satellite phone, smiling . “It’s easy if he’s spirited . Beat him until he’s half-dead until his spirit is wilted, and hypnotize him then . ”

But just as he took the phone, a call arrived .

Jiang He glanced at Duan Tianhe and answered it, putting it on loudspeaker .

A hoarse voice spoke from the other end . “Three Waters Wei, is Jiang He dead yet? Hurry eastward to escape the perimeter if you’ve succeeded . Earth Demon and I would receive you there . ”

“Doggone it . You were the one who sent them?” Jiang He exploded .

“Ye pissant! Here me gon’ make yew dead!”

His northwestern accent was actually spilling out .

“…”

The caller seemed to be stunned for a moment, and soon hung up with a click . Jiang He promptly called him back, only to receive the response ‘not within the service area’ .

Pitter-patter .

Jiang He’s fingers dashed over the keys as he sent message after message, all his texts filled with affection toward the Tranquil Heavenly General’s ancestral line—specifically the women .

After sending eighteen messages in a single breath, the satellite phone eventually blacked out on its own .

“What’s going on? Why is the phone suddenly dead?”

“Uh… some self-destructive sequence in it must have activated . ”

“What a shame…”

Jiang He breathed a long sigh . He had wanted to resend those eighteen texts another dozen times, and so simply threw the phone back to the officer .

He then barked, his face brimming with rage, “Lead the way . I have to give that bastard a taste of punishment!”
