《Genius Detective》Chapter 76: Dog Jumping the Wall

After her sleep, Lin Dongxue felt much better. She sent a text message to tell Lin Qiupu, "I won’t be coming to the morning meeting. ‘Someone’ and I will go to the hospital to check some stuff.”
Lin Qiupu jokingly replied, "Is he Voldemort? You can't even mention his name. Do you think your brother is a petty person? Be careful on the road."
Lin Dongxue took a taxi to the hospital. Chen Shi was sitting in the hall with an old aunty. Lin Dongxue greeted him and so Chen Shi said his goodbyes to the aunty.
“How can you talk to literally anyone and everyone?” Lin Dongxue asked, “What are you going to check here anyway?”
"Three months ago, there was an accident in the Wu family. Wu Hao made his brother seriously injured. At that time, Wu Hao and Pan Xiuying came up with this plan together. So, where did the tools for maintaining the life of the victim come from?"
"Here!"
"Yes. From Peng Sijue’s autopsy records, the deceased must have been very hurt at the time. Don't look at the fact that they are now both calm and collected. At that time, they must have panicked. If they weren’t able to save the deceased in time, he might not have made it to the next day. Therefore, Pan Xiuying is likely to have taken some medical tools and drugs from here."
"Wow, why didn’t I think of that?!" Lin Dongxue clapped her hands in joy.
"Let’s go! We need to go to the pharmacy."
The two found the people in the hospital who managed the warehouse and asked if there were any medical tools lost in the last three months. The person in charge indicated that nothing was lost.
"I have to check inventory every night after work. There shouldn’t be anything missing.”
Chen Shi fully demonstrated the nature of a voice recorder by repeating this question three times. The person in charge answered the same thing three times in a row as well. Chen Shi smiled. "You didn't tell the truth. Rest assured, we’re not going to investigate responsibility. We are just investigating a case. We will not inform the hospital about this matter... But if you don't tell the truth, we may have to consult the hospital management and conduct an in-depth investigation.”

The person in charge showed an embarrassed expression. Chen Shi took out a pack of Yuxi cigarettes and put it in his hands. "Uncle, help us out. It’s a case involving a life!”
"Someone from our hospital?"
"No, it’s relevant to one of the personnel working here. Rest assured, we will not hold you and the hospital responsible."
The uncle then let go of the worry in his heart and recalled, "Well, it was probably around September 17th. I lost something but I didn't report it."
"Why not report it? Are you afraid of them deducting money? How do you remember it so clearly?"
"It was my granddaughter's birthday that day. I left early in the evening. If it was investigated, they would definitely deduct the money from my pay... But I think it must have been an inside job. I looked at what was missing and checked if there would be anything more. It was strange. I didn’t lose anything after that. It seemed like the thief just needed temporary supplies.”
"What have you lost?"
The person in charge listed while counting on his fingers. "Barbital sodium, dexamethasone, saline, a whole package of nasogastric tubes, some gauze, absorbent cotton, medical alcohol, syringes, and infusion tubes... I sort all of these by category and put them in different places. Only a hospital personnel would have been able to get all that. Otherwise it’s impossible to get it right.”
Lin Dongxue stopped the hand recording in the book. Her pupils slowly enlarged as she had a feeling that she was close to the truth. All of the tools were used for bedridden patients.
“Thank you!” Chen Shi said. “There is one more thing. If we need your testimony in the future, can you come to the court to testify?”
“Haii, will the hospital know about it?”
Chen Shi looked at Lin Dongxue and Lin Dongxue informed, "It is a citizen's obligation to accept the court summons and testify in court. We can’t guarantee whether the hospital will find out, but the police will at least not say anything to them. We hope that you will cooperate with us. This is very important."

The person in charge licked his lips. "I shouldn't have skipped checking the inventory that night... I understand. I will go when the time comes."
"Thank you!"
Leaving the warehouse, Lin Dongxue was filled with excitement. "It seems that the case has hope. As long as the surveillance video is found, it can prove that Pan Xiuying has stolen these things..."
"It’s useless. It’s already been three months. The video has long been recorded over."
"Well, at least we can confirm that it was done by those two? What now?"
"We wait!"
Under Lin Qiupu’s instructions, the entire task force adjusted its methods and harassed Wu Hao and Pan Xiuying every day. This had been going on for seven days. The violent Wu Hao inadvertently blurted out some clues when he was under police investigation once again. “You motherfucker! If you can find evidence of me killing him, I will take your surname!"
This unintentional statement naturally could not be evidence, but it was like a needle stuck in the heart of Wu Hao, making him even more restless.
At the same time, Lin Qiupu arranged two people to take turns in monitoring the every move of Wu Hao.
Life seemed to continue on as usual, but very few people knew that the two people who committed the crime were suffering from paranoia. Countless pairs of eyes were hidden in the dark waiting for them to reveal their true nature and shape.
On one particular day, Lin Qiupu received a phone call. The police officer in charge of the stake-out was in a panic, "Captain Lin, things are not good. The guy escaped!”
Lin Qiupu was shocked. "Did you even monitor him properly? I mean, there were four people monitoring him!"
"No... He went downstairs to pick up his car. We thought he was going to go out and tailed him. But then he suddenly reversed and slammed into us and then fled. He hit several cars on the road... This kid is crazy!"
Lin Qiupu looked startled. "You must first find a way to catch up with him. I will send someone over as back-up immediately."
Lin Qiupu rushed into the office and asked all the criminal police to put down their current work and go to the warehouse and grab their guns for an emergency mission. The others did as they were instructed, but Lin Dongxue made a phone call instead.
Lin Qiupu asked, "Who are you calling?"
Lin Dongxue explained, "I want to ask Chen Shi where the suspect might go."
Lin Qiupu was angry and amused. "He is not a fairy, God or prophet. How would he know?”
Chen Shi heard everything over the phone before he instructed, "Go on speaker phone."
Lin Dongxue did so, and Chen Shi asked over the phone, "Captain Lin, did you send people to monitor Pan Xiuying?"
"No," Lin Qiupu responded impatiently.
"Wu Hao is likely to go find Pan Xiuying."
"I don’t believe it!"
"Pan Xiuying is his sister-in-law, but in reality she is actually his woman. In order to escape the guilt, he has been holding onto the green hat. Now this kid has been forced into a corner by us, so he’s become desperate. Who do you think is the first person he’ll look for?"
Lin Qiupu was speechless. "Dongxue, Xiaodong, Xiao Li, you come with me!"
Several people got into Lin Qiupu's car and they sped all the way to Ximen Sheng's company. Since they no longer investigated Ximen Sheng, the company had resumed business. Since Pan Xiuying was not going to work at the moment, she was basically with Ximen all the time.
Lin Qiupu called Xu Xiaodong to go up and ask. Xu Xiaodong quickly came back downstairs and reported, "The staff said that their boss is staying in the villa they bought that’s located in the Yi'An community."
When he finished his report, Lin Qiupu received a call from the bureau. "Captain, we just received an emergency call. The address is in the Yi'An district on the south of the road. A man is agitated and is holding a knife. He rushed into a house saying that he’s going to kill both husband and wife of the house."
"I will handle it!"
Hanging up the phone, Lin Qiupu looked at Lin Dongxue with a complex expression. "That guy... He’s right again, like a deity!"

Neophyte: Common Route
A story about self-discovery, interpersonal relationships, magic and magical creatures-- and a silent war. Marsha is about seven years past adulthood and still feels like a scared child in her parents' home. This is exacerbated when she discovers her father has apparently keyed up his destructive, sadistic habits-- leading to a mad dash out of the house with precious cargo in tow and only one idea where to go. This begins her journey, leading to a discovery that will change her life forever. And she never wants to go back. (Warnings: Lots of descriptions of abusive, sadistic and otherwise traumatizing and triggering behavior that a parent perpetuated toward a child or multiple children. Descriptions of violence, a main character with emotional issues that will be dealt with, and a whole lot of the 'aftermath' of battles in a war. Even a few descriptions of some of those battles. Things of that nature. If you can't handle one of those, please do not read.) {I had this idea to write a 'common route' and then 'romance routes' like they do in otomes? Book 1 is the common route, and then at book 2, you choose your love interest. Each of which is encased in their own book.}
