《Gate of Revelation》Chapter 759

When the lava engulfed Chen Xiaolian, a series of prompts furiously popped up within the Sentinel mech’s interface. Soon, however, the interface turned dark. After that, red light flared out within the cockpit of the mech as the lava began making its way inside.
In just a few seconds, the high temperature of the lava had melted down the Sentinel mech.
“My flames cannot hold you and his Breathing Earth cannot catch up to you. However, once my flames turn his Breathing Earth into lava… I don’t believe you can still escape!”
Riche’s smug voice could be heard from beyond the lava.
Chen Xiaolian was utterly enveloped by the lava. No matter how hard he punched, kicked or pushed, all of it was ineffective against the soft Breathing Earth surrounding him.
Next, Chen Xiaolian could sense that his body was being slowly lifted up and moved towards a certain spot.
The surrounding lava was extremely hot, so much so that even the Sentinel mech had melted down instantly. However, thanks to the protection of the Moonless Fivefold Light Armour, Chen Xiaolian did not feel hot at all.
When the lava surged into the Sentinel mech earlier, the Moonless Fivefold Light Armour’s helmet had automatically dropped down a visor to completely protect Chen Xiaolian’s head. Looking at the armour, one would be able to see some gaps in the joints. However, it would appear as though there was some form of power shielding the gaps, keeping the lava and heat outside.
In fact, the issue that Chen Xiaolian had dreaded the most, that of him suffocating, did not occur as well. Cool air was flowing into the helmet.
This Moonless Fivefold Light Armour… was indeed an equipment at the sacred artefact tier.
Chen Xiaolian knew that, of course. It was given to him by Du Wei and even Shen had viewed it highly. Thus, it could not possibly be some ordinary item. Even so, Chen Xiaolian had not expected it to be so powerful.
And he was still incapable of controlling it.
Chen Xiaolian could hardly imagine just how strong he could become if he could figure out how to fully control the Moonless Fivefold Light Armour and utilize all of its functions.
And also… the currently missing Flash Bow of Ketu-Rahu.
However, the movements of his body brought Chen Xiaolian back to reality. It was not the time to be thinking about that.
Thanks to the protection of the Moonless Fivefold Light Armour, the lava could not harm him. However, it was clear that Riche and Terraflame had long since come up with a perfect plan.
Riche’s voice made it through the lava to reach Chen Xiaolian’s ears.
“Looks like you are still alive. I really can’t imagine where you got such a treasure.” Riche could not hold back the envy and joy in his voice. “Although the immortal body is also very valuable, I am currently uncertain which one to choose… argh!!!”

“You don’t need to choose either.”
Terraflame’s soft voice could be heard.
Although Chen Xiaolian could not see what was happening outside, his heart gave a thump.
No questions were needed to know that there was an inner strife going on between them.
“Damn it! Terraflame, you lowly animal! I knew that you Awakened ones can never be trusted!”
Riche clutched his abdomen as he rapidly backed away. At the same time, he attempted to summon fire dragons out from his palm.
A large open wound could be seen on his abdomen. His [A+] class protective suit had been pierced and even part of his internal organs could be seen hanging out from the wound.
However, despite giving it his all, he could only summon out a few fire dragons. Additionally, be it their size or the intensity of their flames, these newly-summoned fire dragons were far inferior compared to the previous ones.
Summoning the hundred plus fire dragons earlier had consumed almost all of his magic energy.
Earlier, Terraflame had been standing at the entrance of the hall as he released the Breathing Earth, blocking Chen Xiaolian’s path of escape. As for Riche, he was standing farther inside the hall as he summoned the fire dragons. There was a distance of tens of metres between the two of them.
Terraflame was a former member of Thorned Flower Guild who turned traitor. Thus, when Riche was joining forces with him to fight against Anubis back then and even now that they were working together to plot against Chen Xiaolian, Riche had never let his guard down. He knew that Terraflame was a melee warrior specialized in defence. By putting some distance between the two of them, it would be hard for Terraflame to launch a sneak attack against him.
At that very moment, however, there were two Terraflames. One was standing before the passageway while the other one stood before Riche. There were still some torn bits of internal organs on the war hammer in Terraflame’s right hand.
“There is no helping it.” The shield on Terraflame’s left hand easily smashed several of the weak fire dragons as the war hammer in his right hand smashed forward ruthlessly. “I can’t help but want both items! If you have the opportunity, you too, would have killed me without hesitation, no?”
Riche rapidly brought out a war blade, which he positioned before himself. However, the smash sent him and the war blade flying. His figure then smashed into the wall of the Divine Temple and he coughed out a mouthful of blood.
Without pause, Terraflame charged at Riche. Before Riche could extricate himself from the wall, Terraflame’s war hammer, gleaming with electrical currents, pierced Riche’s chest to pin him squarely on the wall. “If you really want to blame someone, blame yourself for giving me the Four-Dimensional Spatial Bag. Did you forget that Ghostfox has the Royal Warrior Imaging Soul?”

Nailed to the wall, Riche’s limbs hung down weakly and he stared right at Terraflame. Blood was flowing down his mouth like fountain water.
Terraflame viciously twisted his war hammer and watched as the spiked war hammer turn within Riche’s chest, causing several shards of white bones to fly out. Then, he leaned his head beside Riche’s ears and snickered. “Who was the one who said it earlier? My Breathing Earth uses points while your fire dragon summoning uses magic energy. If you didn’t exhaust yourself, would I have the opportunity to launch a sneak attack against you?”
Riche’s mouth opened and closed, but he could no longer say a word. Several pieces of torn flesh flowed down alongside his blood, which flowed down his neck, then his chest, then down the shaft of the war hammer and onto Terraflame’s hand.
Suddenly, Terraflame lifted up his war hammer, bringing Riche’s body up with it before slamming it against the floor. The move sent Riche’s body flying away from the tip of the war hammer and he tumbled across the floor a few times before coming to a motionless halt.
“All right!” Terraflame swung his war hammer satisfactorily and rays of light shone to instantly evaporate all the blood left on it. “Now, the armour and the immortal body… is mine!”
Not far away from him was Chen Xiaolian, who was bound by the lava. The lava had brought him before the balance scale in front of the statue of Osiris. He was placed before the empty plate.
The lava was radiating with a fiery, bright-red light. A detailed look would reveal that the lava there was undulating, proving that Chen Xiaolian was furiously struggling inside.
“Mr Chen Xiaolian, Riche is now dead. Just now, were you perhaps entertaining the notion that the fight between me and Riche could give you the opportunity to escape?” Terraflame walked until he was standing before the balance scale. He observed the lava bounding Chen Xiaolian with a faint smile on his face. “I know you can hear me. The armour you are wearing will not let you die so easily. This Breathing Earth is a high-grade item and that Riche had practically used up all of his magic energy to summon fire dragons for this. However, I do not believe that he could break through the defensive power of the armour. Naturally, if the armour is not so powerful, I would not have made this risky move.”
“So, how do you plan on killing me?” Chen Xiaolian gasped. He could sense what happened earlier. However, he did not know what was happening at the moment.
So far, however, the lava had simply trapped him. It did not possess the ability to harm him.
Even so… … Chen Xiaolian knew that getting trapped like this would eventually kill him. Even if the Moonless Fivefold Light Armour could provide him with air, it couldn’t possibly take away his need to eat and sleep.
If the lava were to wrap him up for several days, there would be no need for it to burn him to death. He would die of starvation first.
“Don’t worry. You won’t have to wait long.” Terraflame seemingly knew what Chen Xiaolian was thinking. He laughed and said, “Do you know what is the fourth phase of the quest? It also involves making a sacrifice. However, this time, the sacrificial offering is not someone with the Pharaoh’s blood. Rather… it is a foreigner whose hands are stained with the blood of Osiris’ son!”
Chen Xiaolian’s heart thumped.
A foreigner… whose hands are stained with the blood of Osiris’ son?
“Looks like you understand!” Terraflame revealed a smug expression on his face. “The second and third phase of this instance dungeon’s quest wanted us to kill Osiris’ sons, the two deity gods, Anubis and Horus. In the fourth phase, one of their killers must be sacrificed, using anger to awaken Osiris.
“Do you understand now? An immortal body is a Heaven-defying reward. How can it be rewarded for an ordinary instance dungeon? The first three phases are already very difficult. However, the fourth phase is actually the most difficult one! Would someone capable enough to participate in the killing of the two deity gods be willing to become sacrificial offerings? Would they be willing to become a stepping stone for others?
“Coincidentally, there is such a candidate on hand. It just so happens that this person… … did not use the usual method to enter this instance dungeon and cannot receive the quest description. Thus, he did not know that he will become a sacrificial offering!”
Chen Xiaolian did not answer. Instead, he frantically struggled again. However, the layer of lava enveloping him was both tough and pliable, like soft sesame candy. No matter how hard he tried, he could not tear or break through it.
“I believe that the armour that you are wearing is very strong, maybe even far stronger than my expectations. However, the way I see it, no matter how strong it may be, it is probably incapable of making you immune from the instance dungeon’s settings, right?”
Terraflame raised his head upwards and laughed. “Now, let’s begin! Osiris! I offer you, your sons’ killer! Please grant me… eternal life!”
The lava slowly rose up, bringing Chen Xiaolian with it to land on the empty plate on the balance scale.
As Chen Xiaolian’s figure descended, the plate bearing the feather rose high up while Chen Xiaolian’s plate swiftly fell down.
A ray of light shone from an unknown source to land on the balance scale before moving to illuminate the statue of Osiris. The illuminating light made it look as though the statue had come to life.
“Who? Who interrupted my long slumber to bring me grievous news of my sons’ deaths?”
